Hey guys,

The video has a mistake that should be corrected. He asserts that the Qur'an says you should be able to find Muhammad in the Bible, thus asserting if you can't then the Bible is wrong.

The verses in the Qur'an referring to looking to the Taurat or Injil as confirmation/proof of Muhammad being a Prophet do not state that Muhammad can be found in these books, rather look to these books as confirmation that he is a prophet, not that he is mentioned as a prophet.

Let me explain….Muhammad was an illiterate prophet, in a desert, where in-depth knowledge of these Jewish and Christian scriptures were accessible to only learned, literate men. Muhammad was reciting verses/revelation with stories and information about the past (past prophets stories with in-depth information) that only the most learned Jews and Christians who knew their scriptures would know, and even some of these learned men did not know some of the information Muhammad was reciting…..hence, an illiterate caravan trader would NOT be privy to such information.

Thus, when the Qur'an advises to look at their scriptures, it confirms Muhammad as a Prophet, not because he is mentioned in them by name, but rather because he is reciting information that the learned men of these scriptures would know he could not possess unless he was literate and studied their scriptures (which he was not and did not)….hence must be obtaining it from a Divine source.

Benny,

I'm not sure which Qur'an you're reading, but it specifically says that we find Muhammad mentioned in our scriptures:

"Those who follow the Apostle-Prophet, the Ummi, whom they find written down with them in the Taurat and the Injeel (who) enjoins them good and forbids them evil, and makes lawful to them the good things and makes unlawful to them impure things, and removes from them their burden and the shackles which were upon them; so (as for) those who believe in him and honor him and help him, and follow the light which has been sent down with him, these it is that are the successful." (7:157)

Of course, we don't find Muhammad mentioned at all in our scriptures, except as a false prophet who comes to lead people astray.
