VIDEO: Who Corrupted the Gospel?

Muslims claim that the Gospel has been corrupted, despite the Qur'an's repeated affirmations that the Gospel is reliable and authoritative (see Qur'an 3:3-4, 5:47, 6:114-115, 7:157, 10:94, 18:27, etc.). Yet the Qur'an also claims that there is someone who has "power over all things" (Qur'an 2:106). According to Islam, this being is the only one capable of corrupting the Gospel, and he is the only being in the Qur'an who is reported to have corrupted a key teaching of the Gospel. Who is Islam's mystery villain? Find out as David Wood, Sam Shamoun, and Paul Rezkalla discuss "Who Corrupted the Gospel?"

What's funny is that most of the Islamic objections to Christianity are refuted by the Quran itself. The objection that the Gospel became corrupted is refuted when the Quran says that none can change the words of Allah. The charge that St. Paul corrupted Jesus' message is refuted when the Quran says that Jesus' followers will be uppermost till the day of resurrection. I'm noticing that more and more, as Muslims interact with Christians, the further away they stray from what the Quran teaches. Inconsistency at its finest.

I loved the show, it's really funny to see the "Kamikaze" Quran, it trying to destroy others beliefs actually destroyes itself, the issue of the Bible being corrupted was the main subject that made me reject Islam (between others ofc) because the same Quran says it is not, and historically it makes no sense at all.

Brother David Wood, i know it is really OffTopic, but i respect this preacher a lot "John McArthur" and he said some things about Islamic "apocalipse" to say it some way, he doesn't quote his Islamic sources, so i just want to know if actually the Islamic sources say the Madhi will do what McArthur said, wheather you believe in his theory or no, i just want to know if the Hadiths or Quran say such things, and if it's only the Shia who believe this, because some guy told me it's only the Shia who believe in this. The video is 10 mins i hope you have time to see it. If you are interested you can see the whole preach in Youtube too. God Bless You and your family and keep the good work.

Where's Samatar? He made this claim, claiming there was "another gospel" that was somehow lost (over in the "Christians stoned in Dearborn" thread. Another "hit and run" it seems.

Hi David,

Great video! I was reading the tafsir about verse 3:55 (that Allah promised Jesus's followers would be superior) out of curiosity and found the explanation to be laughable. However, even more crazy that the tafsir said that Allah abrogated ALL the laws that were sent down to the prophets!

http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=534&Itemid=46

(And I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve, till the Day of Resurrection)

This is what happened. When Allah raised `Isa to heaven, his followers divided into sects and groups. Some of them believed in what Allah sent `Isa as, a servant of Allah, His Messenger, and the son of His female-servant.

However, some of them went to the extreme over `Isa, believing that he was the son of Allah. Some of them said that `Isa was Allah Himself, while others said that he was one of a Trinity. Allah mentioned these false creeds in the Qur'an and refuted them. The Christians remained like this until the third century CE, when a Greek king called, Constantine, became a Christian for the purpose of destroying Christianity. Constantine was either a philosopher, or he was just plain ignorant. Constantine changed the religion of `Isa by adding to it and deleting from it. He established the rituals of Christianity and the so-called Great Trust, which is in fact the Great Treachery. He also allowed them to eat the meat of swine, changed the direction of the prayer that `Isa established to the east, built churches for `Isa, and added ten days to the fast as compensation for a sin that he committed, as claimed. So the religion of `Isa became the religion of Constantine, who built more then twelve thousand churches, temples and monasteries for the Christians as well as the city that bears his name, Constantinople (Istanbul). Throughout this time, the Christians had the upper hand and dominated the Jews. Allah aided them against the Jews because they used to be closer to the truth than the Jews, even though both groups were and still are disbelievers, may Allah's curse descend on them.

When Allah sent Muhammad , those who believed in him also believed in Allah, His Angels, Books and Messengers in the correct manner. So they were the true followers of every Prophet who came to earth. They believed in the unlettered Prophet , the Final Messenger and the master of all mankind, who called them to believe in the truth in its entirety. This is why they had more right to every Prophet than his own nation, especially those who claim to follow their Prophet's way and religion, yet change and alter his religion. Furthermore, Allah abrogated all the laws that were sent down to the Prophets with the Law He sent Muhammad with, which consists of the true religion that shall never change or be altered until the commencement of the Last Hour. Muhammad's religion shall always be dominant and victorious over all other religions. This is why Allah allowed Muslims to conquer the eastern and western parts of the world and the kingdoms of the earth. Furthermore, all countries submitted to them; they demolished Kisra (king of Persia) and destroyed the Czar, ridding them of their treasures and spending these treasures for Allah's sake.

Hi brother David! I just want to say thank you for availing yourself to bring to light the truth of the Gospel. And i praise and thank God for you.

I came across a vid on youtube that seems to suggest that the Roman Catholic Church helped to create Islam.

Here is the link if you find time to view it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epc9LjOpZFQ

I'd like to have your take on this if possible.

God bless!

David Wood I see an issue with you (implying) that ALLAH can possibly corrupt the Gospel, i.e his (WORD). You have heard you argue in the past since Allah's Word is his Eternal Speech therefore it is Eternal, and Jesus is referred to as the (Word) of Allah and therefore Jesus is Eternal.

But according to your logic David Wood if Allah's (Word) can be corrupted therefore his (Word) isn't eternal. And what would follow is that Jesus being called the (WORD) of ALLAH doesn't mean he is Eternal since Allah's word can be changed, i.e corrupted.

Therefore you Wood you would have to dismiss to idea that Jesus is eternal because he is called the Word of ALLAH if you are going to maintain Allah can corrupt his Word. Yours Chirstheway24

I think you missed the point of the video. The point is that the Muslim position is completely incoherent, inconsistent, and illogical. According to the Qur'an, no one can corrupt Allah's word. Yet Muslims must believe that Allah's word has been corrupted. According to the Qur'an, Allah's word is eternal. Yet Muslims must believe that it has been changed. There's no making sense out of any of this, because it's nonsensical.

Wood I understand the Muslims position in regards to corruption of the text, but I want to know why did you imply ALLAH could of possibly corrupted the Gospel and where exactly are you deriving that from?

Second, Wood you are the one implying that ALLAH has corrupted his very WORD himself. You have attempted to reconcile the idea of None can change the words of ALLAH and if it is corrupted ALLAH could have corrupted it himself.

You have offered your own explanation regarding why the word of ALLAH could possibly be corrupted if was corrupted with no bases.

I believe you offered an explanation because of the Muslims claim regarding textual corruption

So therefore when ever you argue that Jesus is the Word of Allah and therefore Eternal.

You would have to dismiss that view and give an explanation in light to what Muslims are saying regarding Allah's Word in the very same manner you did with the Gospel.

Yours Christheway

You need to watch the video again. The Qur'an states, very clearly, that no one can corrupt or change Allah's words (6:115, 18:27). But Muslims claim that the Bible has been corrupted, and their religion forces them to believe that the Bible has been corrupted (since the Bible contradicts Islam). So in this video, we're saying to the Muslims, "Okay, your book says that no one can corrupt Allah's word. But you're telling us that Allah's word has been corrupted. Tell us, then, who is powerful enough to corrupt Allah's word?" And the only answer Muslims can give is that Allah is powerful enough to change his word, because the Qur'an says that he has power over all things (in the context of abrogating his earlier revelations. So we're leaving the Muslim with a dilemma. Either believe that the Bible has been reliably preserved, or believe that Allah corrupted the Bible. Neither option is acceptable. Hence, Islam self-destructs.

Hey David, just wanted to say, that the presentation in this video is about as good as it could possibly be. Very well done. You have spelled out the case wonderfully. Thanks to you, and Paul, and Sam, and all the folks at ABN for making it.
