General John Allen Apologizes to the "Noble People of Afghanistan" over Burned Qur'ans

If only Muslims got as upset over the rape and slaughter of non-Muslims as they get over burned Qur'ans, we might see some unparalleled moral progress in the Muslim world.

It seems the Qur'ans were being used to pass notes among "extremists." Shockingly, I opened several of my Qur'ans and found numerous extremist notes, such as:

Qur’an 5:51—O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

Qur’an 9:73—O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.

Qur’an 9:111—Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah's way, so they slay and are slain.

Qur’an 9:123—O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).

Qur’an 47:35—Be not weary and fainthearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost: for Allah is with you, and will never put you in loss for your (good) deeds.

Qur’an 48:29—Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves.

Qur’an 98:6—Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Religious materials -- including Qurans that were burned at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, sparking Afghan protests -- were removed from the library of a detainee center "because of extremist inscriptions" on them, a military official said Tuesday.

There was "an appearance that these documents were being used to facilitate extremist communications," a military official said.

"Additionally, some of the documents were extremist in and of themselves, apparently originating from outside of Afghanistan," the official said.

The official said the material was burned, but authorities are attempting to determine how much.

The uproar prompted Gen. John Allen, commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force, to issue a directive "that all coalition forces in Afghanistan will complete training in the proper handling of religious materials no later than March 3," the NATO-led force said...

The training will include "the identification of religious materials, their significance, correct handling and storage," according to the statement from coalition forces. (Read more.)

Now for the double standards:

David- Great video! I especially liked your inclusion of "fight the power." What do you suggest to do politically in this climate?

Funny how the MSM never mentions the FACT that Afghani men are legally raping little boys and that it's a time-honored muslime tradition in that fine (cough) country. It's called Bacha Bazi.

Even worse, the following website asserts that members of the Soddy Barbarian royal family are not only involved in child pornography but the sexual enslavement of children (some from the USA):

And yet that traitor, General David Petraeus, does not see the insult the military caused to millions of Christians when they burned all of those bibles at Bagram - ON HIS WATCH!

He should be Court-martialed.

Oooh! Oooh! I've got SO much to learn about the un-holy GRRRAN. For instance, I need to learn which of the un-abrogated suras ARE NOT filled with hatred against non-Muslims. AND which of the non-abrogated ayas do NOT facilitate "extremist communications". I just KNOW they're in there!

And wait! Wait! Which of the "strong" a-hate-iths don't recommend violence against non-Muslims? Oh, I have so much to LEARN!!

What part of sharia law is NOT misogynist, supremacist and racist? SURELY the "reliance of the traveler" can show me the way.

I only want to learn about the part of Mudhammed's life that teaches love for women, children, God's beautiful creation and puppies. I only want to learn about the part of the pseudo-prophet's biography that teaches love & respect for all people, all races, all walks of life and all faiths.

SURELY I can learn - from one of the four primary schools of Islamic thought - about the parts of Islam that teach -

1) Freedom of speech...
2) Gender & racial equality...
3) The value of each human life...
4) Creativity & Innovation...
AND
5) Spiritual & Mental Renewal
And I just KNOW that Islamic Scholars can teach me the value of a good work ethic!! C'Mon, Mudhammed! Plez don't hide it!

Wow! I've got SO MUCH to learn! 'Cuz, everything I've needed to learn about Islam so far, I learned from the Islamic teaching that was manifested on 9/11. There were extremist communications in THAT message... but it may have "originated from outside Afghanistan".

But I'm still learning...

KAFIR AND PROUD!!

Why don't the media say "A radical US soldier burned the Quran!"

I don't hear any Islamic countries apologizing for killing Christians, Jews, Baha'i etc ...

Great work David even though it makes me sick. I think we are very close to the stage when Mohammad arrived in Medina and the Jews were trying to appease him.

Where is Uthman ibn Affan when you need him? He sure could teach those soldiers, officers, and Muslim protesters a thing or two about burning Qur'ans.

I thought burying, burning, and blotting out (erasing) were the only legitimate means of destroying a Qur'an (or Qur'ans)?

It appears from the article that these Qur'ans had been defaced with handwritten inscriptions by the faithful adherents of the religion espoused in Qur'an. So, here were defaced Qur'ans being burned. How is that not at least slightly similar to what Uthman did? Now, admittedly, no one may have ever understood the defacing inscriptions to be a legitimate part of the Qur'an. This is perhaps the sole difference, but we are still left with defaced Qur'ans. I wonder if some of illogical, irrational proponents of Qur'an would have accused the soldiers of defacing the Qur'an as a ploy? So, what to do with these defaced Qur'ans? Burn them? Bury them? Blot them out? Could they have gotten some Imam to 'ok' this act to get rid of deface Qur'ans? Where is Uthman when you need him?

So, it's 'ok' for a Muslim to burn a Qur'an, but it's not 'ok' for a non-Muslim?

Inconsistency...hmm..speaks volumes.

So let me get this strait, to dispose of a Quran properly you must either bury it or BURN IT.

Nato force BURN the qurans and Muslims start rioting and burning, and smashing and exploding and well dying.

Shakes head. Lets get US troops out of that God forsaken country and at least return them to our God forsaken country

The Jewish tribes who formerly inhabited the Saudi peninsula were good people who put their faith in Muhammad and his word. I believe when Muhammad attacked and defeated the last of the Jewish tribes in the Saudi peninsula it was under the auspices of a peace treaty he had signed with them.

The people of Afghanistan were noble . . . and then they were conquered by Muslims.
And then they became their conquerors-- absorbed everything.
Noble?
What a joke.
Islam is a mockery of many things.

Burn your very own "virtual" copy of the Qur'an right here. You will feel better after the "BooK of Hate" goes up in flames.
