Iraq Becoming a Police State

And yet our leaders will continue to claim that the Muslim world simply needs democracy.

BAGHDAD—Iraq's Shiite-led government cracked down harshly on dissent during the past year of Arab Spring uprisings, turning the country into a "budding police state" as autocratic regimes crumbled elsewhere in the region, an international rights groups said Sunday.

Security forces abuse protesters, harass journalists, torture detainees and intimidate activists, Human Rights Watch said in the Iraq chapter of its annual report.

"Iraq is quickly slipping back into authoritarianism," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director for the New York-based group. "Despite U.S. government assurances that it helped create a stable democracy (in Iraq), the reality is that it left behind a budding police state," she said. (Read more.)

The problem was they didn't give it democracy in the first place, they gave it "Sharia Law" based democracy. The most retarded "liberty" I've ever heard.

Sharia Law is coming:

Let's not forget the 300,000 Iraqi Christians that have fled islamic persecution in Iraq over the last few years. Or the Jewish population that was similarly completely ethnically cleansed through muslim persecution in the 20th century.

And America has not become a police state. What about the bill passed called the national defence authorization act. I reccommend you read up what the bill is about. Here is Sami Zaatari speaking about the NDAA. And if you don't trust Sami, than just Google it to get more information. This law is very scary, and destroys Americans basic fundamental right.

Democracy can only work if the majority believe in human rights and human dignity.

If the majority believe in Sharia law, that is what democracy will give you.

If the majority believe that "infidels" should be killed, this is what democracy will bring!

Democracy is not the answer!
