Dude, Who Killed My Prophet?

Here's the shorter version. Click here for the longer version.

On a related note, a Muslim has threatened to kill me over "Who Killed Muhammad?" How original.

Let me guess, Osama . . . This threat was posted by a Jew pretending to be a Muslim, right? Oops! Wait a minute! If I go to the guy's YouTube page, it turns out he's a fan of Osama's website! He even links to it! Check his links in the bottom left corner of this screen shot. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Great video as usual! Just a note: many non-Muslims who are not familiar with the Quran would not know that "We" in the Quran sura is referring to Allah or it is Allah who is speaking. Maybe could you add that to the video or at least add an annotation so that everyone gets it?

I am not surprised by the threats - this is what Islam is all about! But don't let this guy get away with it. Inform the police and the FBI immediately.

Thought about that, but I wanted to do one quoting only Muslim sources, without any commentary from me.

You are rocking David!!And yes Osama and his fans are struggling to rescue their prophet. They should call Kim so that she can do something by copy-pasting from a curry mix of various islamic websites which contradict each other. As people like Kim thinks that if they can say somethng that means they have refuted us.Osama and his fans need to have Kim style mentality to rescue muhamamad.Unless he is buried 6 feet under teh ground by the terminator David wood

Everyday Islam is being exposed, only someone who is totally brainwashed will continue to invent lame excuses and rationalizations to prop it up. All this talk about tawheed this and that, shirk this and that, pure Monotheism this and that, the only real and true Monotheism has always been in the Judao-Christian Scriptures period. Islam is a ponzi scram, Muslims always worshiped graves, and made prays to not just Muhammad who was made from Allah's light, but thousands of Muslim saints. The Sufi and Shia are a closer representation of the original Islam, Salafism is a revisionist new comer, that gain its acceptance by the sword when they conquered Arabia but in the 1700's. They the followers of the house of Saudi have tried to white wash the polytheism out of Islam, and reconcile the the contradictions in it. Check this video out from a Shia showing how the Neo-Salafis try to hide the polytheism in Islam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUiHoFLEmIo

I disagree with you David. Instead of creating a substantive rebuttal based on knowledge and facts and have a civilized dialogue,

ahhhhh, muslims. How boring would life be without these beasts?

I'm still waiting your response David. Why are you running to different posts?

what are the morally sufficient reasons for God to prevent babies from experiencing intense suffering, or even torturing them?

"ahhhhh, muslims. How boring would life be without these beasts?

Now you resort to calling about 1.5 billion people in the world beasts because of the actions of a minute percentage, and you call yourself rational. Hey, just because one muslim said something, does not mean that we are all subject to his actions. Please have some respect for your brothers in humanity without calling all of us beasts. Thanks a lot.

I'm running to different posts? You're bringing up the Problem of Evil again in the comments section of a video about how God disgraced and humiliated Muhammad. And you did this after you totally ignored the post on the Problem of Evil. Now you demand that I go back to an earlier post. Try growing up sometime.

As for God's reasons, he might have all kinds of reasons, but they are irrelevant to my point. You claimed there are only two possibilities, and I gave a third possibility. Whether I list God's reasons or not, the burden of proof isn't on me. In order to show that your dilemma stands, you have to show that God can't possibly have morally sufficient reasons for allowing suffering. And you're in know position to make such a claim (unless you believe you're omniscient).

I think I'll do a post in response to your new comments. you apparently believe that God deliberately tortures babies. But Muslims claim to believe in "original innocence." Hence, according to you, Allah tortures innocents who haven't sinned. Certainly worthy of a post!

BTW, until you learn some basics of logic and argumentation, there isn't really much point in discussing philosophical topics with you. It's like trying to play chess with a person who doesn't know (and doesn't want to know) the rules or how the pieces move. It's obvious to everyone here that you're simply trying to divert attention away from your prophet, but I'll respond in case someone else is interested in the topic (and so people can see how Muslims constantly contradict themselves).

WINNING DEBATES FOR DUMMIES: A Guide for Muslims to win and debate with ten easy tricks

1. Always keep your CAPS Lock on. This way your post will be difficult to read and no one will be able to answer.
2. Whenever someone comes up with a verse from Quran that make you unable to defend, say that it is out of CONTEXT.
3. Whenever someone comes up with a Hadith that makes you unable to answer, say that Hadiths are not reliable.
4. When someone comes up with both Quran and Hadith, say that Quran and Hadiths could be understood in Arabic only.
5. When someone comes up with Quran and Hadith and also proves that he/she understands Arabic, say that these verses are for a time period only and could not be applied today.
6. When you cannot answer any questions, say that Islam is fastest growing religion and soon it will be proven to whole world.
7. When someone comes up with proofs that Islam is not fastest growing religion, say that these figures are biased and by Christians.
8. Paste some videos about Scientific Miracles of Quran from YouTube. When someone proves that these videos are stupid, shout that they are biased.
9. Keep on pasting random verses from Quran irrelevant of topic to divert attention
10. Finally when you are totally on the run, curse and threat people with Hell fire and say that they are not worthy of Islam.
WOW YOU HAVE WON! ALLAH-O-AKBAR

I think you should take classes on logical argumentation. The burden of proof lies on the one who makes the affirmative statement ( YOU). By saying God cannot torture babies, you are making the affirmative that you know at least one moral reason that prevents God from torturing babies. In the other hand, I am taking the position of NOT KNOWING any moral reasons that would make God unable to torture babies. So logically the burden is on your side.

You are contradicting yourself in every sentence; "Whether I list God's reasons or not..." I thought no one can provide a single moral reason for God! Are you omniscient?

"there isn't really much point in discussing philosophical topics with you."
Proud is a christian virtue. But Logic is a gift from God, it's not something you learn

AS for your post "who killed Muhammad", I responded to this false case. But of course you turned the blind eye, like almost everybody here.

You go, David!

David Wood said...

1MoreMuslim said: "But Logic is a gift from God, it's not something you learn."

Really? You can't learn fallacies, rules of deductive and inductive reasoning, the proper use of the syllogism, etc. These only come through a special gift of God? This explains a lot. Since you don't believe a person can learn rules of argumentation, you have no desire to learn such rules. And since you never learn them, you go on making error after error.

1MoreMuslim said: "I think you should take classes on logical argumentation. The burden of proof lies on the one who makes the affirmative statement ( YOU). By saying God cannot torture babies, you are making the affirmative that you know at least one moral reason that prevents God from torturing babies."

I should take classes on logical argumentation? I've taught classes on logical argumentation.

If you recall, you offered an argument, based on the following dilemma. Since babies suffer, either (1) David's God doesn't exist, or (2) David's God has no control over the world. Since this is YOUR premise, in YOUR argument, the soundness of your argument rests on whether you can show that this premise is true. I proved that you're in no position to show that the premise is true, because you'd have to be able to show that other possibilities don't exist. But you can't show that. And now you're demanding that I list God's reasons for various things, and you've placed the burden of proof for your argument on me! Amazing!

I refuse to believe that you're really this illogical, silly, and oblivious, which means that you're deliberately trying to distract us by tossing around ridiculous claims. Come back to the blog when you're ready to have a serious discussion.

Samatar Mohamed to andy bell: "Please have some respect for your brothers in humanity without calling all of us beasts. Thanks a lot."

This coming from someone whose book of guidance refers to his disbelieving "brothers in humanity" as "the worst of beasts" (Qur'an 8:22) and "the worst of creatures" (Qur'an 98:6).

1moremuslim,

The moral reason that God allows human beings to abuse and neglect innocent children, is that He made man a free moral agent.

If God punished mankind on the spot, for every wicked deed, then He would not be offering mankind free-will

Child neglect and abuse is an action of free moral agents, not God.

I thought Kim and Osama were bad. 1moremuslim really takes the biscuit. He doesn't have a clue.

Pure distraction techniques. The problem is he's not that good at it, which makes it glaringly obvious to all!

Still I cant get how this 1MM challenges a professor of philosophy on philosophy though he has not proved that he is worthy of being Professor Wood's student?1 more muslim,do you think you are qualified to be admitted in the classes David teaches?

Ree said...

In one sentence, 1MoreMuslim says that one can't learn logical argumentation--that it can only be gifted by God, but in the one just prior, he says that David Wood should take classes to learn logical argumentation. As usual, I'm left scratching my head after reading a response from a Muslim.

Samatar Mohamed - I agree with you about the 'beasts' thing. Offensive and shameful way to talk about a billion people. Hopefully andy will clarify that he was only referring to the violent aggressive Muslims who post death threats on websites.

Quote from you! " I think you should take classes on logical argumentation."

But didnt you just say Logic and reasoning are a gift from God?

I guess he didnt bless you with that gift. As a matter of fact i have yet to meet a Muslim who has been blessed with that gift, or has learned it!

Which is it? A gift or mearned? Quote

""there isn't really much point in discussing philosophical topics with you."

You cant help but contradict yourself within the same posting! The Muslim mind is a fascinating thing to watch in action.

Sophie,

I'm divided about the beast term. I probably wouldn't use the term in mixed company, but there are sinners that Paul, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, compared to beasts.

1 Corinthians 15:31-33

31 I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If [a]from human motives I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, LET US EAT AND DRINK, FOR TOMORROW WE DIE. 33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

Jude 1:9-11

9Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

10But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

11Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

On regards to whether 1moremuslims is qualified to take a Philosophy class from David:

"1 more muslim,do you think you are qualified to be admitted in the classes David teaches?"

If David is teaching at a public university, it has nothing to do with 1moremuslims qualifications. All he has to do is sign up, pay for the class and show up.

I went to a State college, and it didn't intimidate me at all to sneer at my professors who taught evolution. So long as I was turning in the right answers on tests, there was not one dang thing they could do about what I said or the look on my face.

It might have been impossible to get a reference for grad school from some of them. That was the only drawback. But that was a small price to pay.

Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
Israel’s Shepherds: Good and Bad

11 Open your gates, Lebanon,
and fire will consume your cedars.
2 Wail, cypress, for the cedar has fallen;
the glorious trees are destroyed!
Wail, oaks of Bashan,
for the stately forest has fallen!
3 Listen to the wail of the shepherds,
for their glory is destroyed.
Listen to the roar of young lions,
for the thickets of the Jordan are[a] destroyed.
4 Yahweh my God says this: “Shepherd the flock intended for slaughter. 5 Those who buy them slaughter them but are not punished. Those who sell them say: Praise the Lord because I have become rich! Even their own shepherds have no compassion for them. 6 Indeed, I will no longer have compassion on the inhabitants of the land”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “Instead, I will turn everyone over to his neighbor and his king. They will devastate the land, and I will not deliver it from them.”

7 So I shepherded the flock intended for slaughter, the afflicted of the flock.[b] I took two staffs, calling one Favor and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock. 8 In one month I got rid of three shepherds. I became impatient with them, and they also detested me. 9 Then I said, “I will no longer shepherd you. Let what is dying die, and let what is going astray go astray; let the rest devour each other’s flesh.” 10 Next I took my staff called Favor and cut it in two, annulling the covenant I had made with all the peoples. 11 It was annulled on that day, and so the afflicted of the flock[c] who were watching me knew that it was the word of the Lord. 12 Then I said to them, “If it seems right to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.” So they weighed my wages, 30 pieces of silver.

13 “Throw it to the potter,”[d] the Lord said to me—this magnificent price I was valued by them. So I took the 30 pieces of silver and threw it into the house of the Lord, to the potter.[e] 14 Then I cut in two my second staff, Union, annulling the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

15 The Lord also said to me: “Take the equipment of a foolish shepherd. 16 I am about to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are going astray, and he will not seek the lost[f] or heal the broken. He will not sustain the healthy,[g] but he will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hooves.

17 Woe to the worthless shepherd
who deserts the flock!
May a sword strike[h] his arm
and his right eye!
May his arm wither away
and his right eye go completely blind!”
