Where Did Jesus Say, "I Am God, Worship Me"?

The Qur’an commands Christians to judge by the Gospel:
Qur’an 5:47—“Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel.”
Thus, when Christians present their beliefs, it makes sense for Muslims to ask, “Could you show us where the Bible says that?” Christians should therefore be eager to present evidence from the Gospel, because Muslims cannot condemn us for doing what the Qur’an commands. Indeed, since the Qur’an affirms not only the Gospel, but also the Torah (Qur’an 5:43), Muslims cannot ignore what the Bible says without thereby rebelling against Islam.

Muslims around the world are being trained to ask Christians, “Where did Jesus say, ‘I am God, worship me,’ in those exact words?” However, if Muslims are suggesting that Jesus could only claim to be God by uttering a specific sentence, we may reply by asking, “Where did Jesus say, ‘I am only a prophet, don’t worship me,’ in those exact words?” The unreasonable demand for a particular statement, if applied consistently, would thus force Muslims to reject their own view!

Fortunately, we have a simple way to examine what Jesus said about himself. According to both the Bible and the Qur’an, there are certain claims that only God can truly make. For instance, God alone can correctly state that he created the universe. Of course, a mere human being can pronounce the words, “I created the universe,” but the statement would be false coming from anyone other than God.

Hence, if Jesus said things that can only truly be said by God, we must conclude that Jesus claimed to be God. Interestingly, Jews, Christians, and Muslims agree on many of the claims that cannot be properly made by (or about) mere human beings. Let us consider a few of these.

THE FIRST AND THE LAST

Surah 57:3 of the Qur’an refers to Allah as “the First and the Last, the Most High and the Most Near.” The Old Testament agrees that God is the “First and the Last,” as we read in the Book of the prophet Isaiah:
Isaiah 44:6—Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me.”
When “LORD” is written in all capitals in the Old Testament, the term refers to Yahweh, the creator of the universe. Since both the Bible and the Qur’an give the title “the First and the Last” to God, it should be quite shocking for Muslims to open the New Testament and read Revelation 1:17-18, where Jesus says:
“Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.”
Would a mere prophet claim to be the “First and the Last”?

WHO FORGIVES SINS?

While one human being may sin against another human being, there is a sense in which all sin is rebellion against God. Similarly, while you and I may forgive one another for the wrongs we commit, only God can offer ultimate forgiveness. Thus, the prophet David could say to God, “Against You, You only, I have sinned
and done what is evil in Your sight” (Psalm 51:4), and the Prophet Daniel could declare, “To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him” (Daniel 9:9).

The Qur’an agrees that ultimate forgiveness belongs to God, for it asks, “Who can forgive sins except Allah?” (3:135).

It might surprise Muslims to learn that, in the New Testament, Jesus claims the ability to forgive sins. In Mark 2, a paralyzed man is brought to Jesus in order to be healed. Jesus’ response leads the religious leaders to accuse him of blasphemy:
Mark 2:5-7—And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?”
The scribes correctly recognized that only God can forgive sins. Yet Jesus (who referred to himself as the “Son of Man”), knowing their thoughts, replied that “the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” (Mark 2:10). He then healed the paralytic, proving that his claims were true.

THE LIGHT

In Psalm 27:1, the prophet David proclaims: “The LORD is my light and my salvation.” Similarly, the Qur’an declares that “Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth” (24:35). Yet Jesus tells his listeners that he is “the Light”:
John 8:12—“I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
THE TRUTH

The prophet David refers to Yahweh as the “God of Truth” (Psalm 31:5). According to the Qur’an, “Allah is the Truth” (22:6). Jesus, however, applies this as a title for himself:
John 14:6—Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
How can a mere human being claim to be “The Truth”?

THE FINAL JUDGE

In Chapter 3 of the Book of the prophet Joel, Yahweh declares that the nations will be gathered and that he “will sit to judge all the surrounding nations” (v. 12). According to the prophet David, “the LORD abides forever;
He has established His throne for judgment, and He will judge the world in righteousness” (Psalm 9:7-8).

The Qur’an maintains that Allah will judge the world, rewarding believers and punishing unbelievers:
Qur’an 22:56-57—The kingdom on that day shall be Allah’s; He will judge between them; so those who believe and do good will be in gardens of bliss. And (as for) those who disbelieve in and reject Our communications, these it is who shall have a disgraceful chastisement.
So why, we may wonder, would Jesus tell his followers that he will be the final judge of all people?
Matthew 25:31-32—“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”
Jesus goes on to say that he will admit certain people to heaven and cast others into hell. Isn’t this something only God can do?

THE RESURRECTION

The Bible and the Qur’an agree that God is the one who will raise the dead.
1 Samuel 2:6—The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and raises up.

Qur’an 22:7—Allah will resurrect those who are in the graves.
Since God will raise the dead at the resurrection, why would a mere prophet tell his followers that he will resurrect the dead?
John 5:25-29—“Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.”

John 11:25—Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.”
GOD’S GLORY

The Qur’an tells us that “Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah” (57:1).

In the Old Testament, we find that Yahweh will not share his glory with anyone.
Isaiah 42:8—“I am the LORD, that is My name;
I will not give My glory to another.” (Cf. Isaiah 48:11—“My glory I will not give to another.”)
Yet Jesus claimed, not only that he would be glorified with the Father, but that he had glory with the Father before the world was created!
John 17:5—“Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.”
How can anyone see this as anything other than a claim to deity?

FURTHER EVIDENCE

In Mark 2:28, Jesus calls himself the “Lord of the Sabbath.” In Matthew 22:41-45, he proves that he is the Lord of the prophet David. In John 8:39-58, Jesus says that he has seen the prophet Abraham. In Matthew 12:6, Jesus claims to be greater than God’s Temple.

Jesus tells us that he has an absolutely unique relationship with the Father (Matthew 11:27), that he can answer prayers (John 14:13-14), that he is present wherever his followers are gathered (Matthew 18:20), that he has “all authority in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18), and that he is with his followers forever (Matthew 28:20). He even makes the startling declaration that “All things that the Father has are Mine” (John 16:15).

According to Jesus, all people must honor him just as we honor the Father:
John 5:21-23—“For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes. For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”
Since one of the ways we honor the Father is by worshiping him, it should come as no surprise that Jesus’ followers worshiped him on numerous occasions. Indeed, the Gospel tells us that Jesus was worshiped throughout his life: shortly after his birth (Matthew 2:11), during his ministry (Matthew 14:33, John 9:38), after his resurrection (Matthew 28:17), and after his ascension to heaven (Luke 24:52). Jesus’ disciple Thomas even addressed him as “my Lord and my God” (John 20:28).

ASSESSMENT

Where did Jesus say, “I am God, worship me”? As we have seen, Jesus claimed to be the First and the Last, the forgiver of sins, the Light, the Truth, the Final Judge, and the Resurrection. Jesus proclaimed that he had glory with the Father before the world was created, that he is the Lord of the Sabbath and of King David, that he had seen Abraham, and that he is greater than God’s Temple. Jesus has a unique relationship with the Father, he can answer prayers, he is with his followers no matter where they are, he has total authority on earth and in heaven, he is with his followers forever, and he owns everything. Jesus even demanded that he be honored just as the Father is honored. Clearly, these are not the claims of a mere human being. They are not even the claims of a mighty prophet. These are claims only God can truly make. This is why Christians believe that Jesus is God.

POSTSCRIPT: THE ISLAMIC DILEMMA

Since the Bible obviously supports the Christian view of Jesus, Muslims who want to deny the deity of Christ will have to argue that the Gospel has been corrupted. But if the Gospel has been corrupted, why does the Qur’an command Christians to judge by the Gospel? By commanding us to judge by what we find in the Gospel, the Qur’an has inadvertently ordered Christians to reject Islam!

But it gets worse for Muslims. The Qur’an affirms the inspiration and reliability of the Christian Scriptures (3:3-4, 5:47, 5:66, 7:157, 10:94), as well as man’s inability to corrupt God’s Word (6:114-115, 18:27). Muslims therefore cannot reject what the Gospel says, which leaves them with quite a dilemma. If the Gospel is reliable, Islam must be false, since the Gospel presents Jesus as God. Alternatively, if the Gospel is unreliable, Islam must be false, because the Qur’an tells us that the Gospel is the Word of God. Either way, Islam is false, and anyone who is searching for the truth will never find it in the Qur’an.

The idea about the Torah and Bible being true, and not rebelling against it is a concept all Muslims completely agree with. However, this 'Torah' and 'bible' does not refer to the modern day books; it refers to the original books revealed by those specific Prophets. WE believe that all the scriptures nowadays have been changed and edited to an extent that they do ot resemble the original books, and are therefore not the reflection of the Books of God Muslims would accept as no lie. Answering your statement about where in the quran it says Jesus is only a prophet; Surah Nisa Verse 171; "O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs."

People go to dust. The soul goes to be in God's light or it goes to be in the devils prison to wait for final judgment. People engaging in enforcing and supporting sharia law will get what they gave or even wanted to give in that prison. They will become ashes on Judgment day.

The Qur'an does answer you question that Jesus peace be upon him says he is only a messenger of God and in such beautiful words too <3

O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste." So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"

[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakat/charity as long as I remain alive.

And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.

And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive."

That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute.

As Muslims, we must accept and believe in all of the Books of Allah. It is a required part of our faith. We cannot accept the book revealed to Prophet Muhammad and reject the book of Prophet Moses (peace be upon them both).

When we speak of Allah’s books, we are really talking about His revelations. These revelations were sent by Allah to his messengers as guidance for mankind. And as Muslims, we are obliged to believe in them all.

Sadly, most of Allah’s revelations have been lost, tampered with, or altered. They have been combined with legend, folklore, and personal desires to create something very much unlike what Allah originally revealed.

Only one of Allah’s books is still in its original form. Only one book is still in its original language. And only can be traced back, word for word, chapter for chapter, to the prophet it was revealed to.

This book is, of course, the Quran.

Tawrat – This is the revelation that Allah sent to Musa (Moses), peace be upon him.
Zabur – This is the revelation that Allah sent to Daud (David), peace be upon him.
Injeel – This is the revelation that Allah sent to Eesa (Jesus), peace be upon him.
Quran – This is the revelation that Allah sent to Muhammad, peace be upon him.

Unknown said...

The Tawrat

The Tawrat is usually referred to as the “Law” in the Quran. Specifically, the Law of Moses. Many people equate the Tawrat with the Torah of the Jewish faith, or the Old Testament of the Christian faith.

In some ways this is true, as the Torah does contain some of the truths revealed to Prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him). However, it is not completely accurate because the Torah consists of much more than just the law revealed to Moses.

No one really knows the full history of the Torah, and there are several different versions of it. For instance, the Catholic Old Testament is different from the Protestant Old Testament.

And scholars have long since concluded the Torah was not written by one person, and certainly not by Moses directly (or indirectly).

The Tawrat that Muslims accept as the true commands of Allah is that which was directly revealed to Moses. While that message is still alive today in the message of the Quran, the actual text has been lost.

The Zabur

The Zabur is the book of Allah that was revealed to Daud (David, peace be upon him). It means “songs” in Arabic, as this revelation came to David in the form of a series of songs or chants.

But like the Tawrat, the original text is no longer with us. The modern Psalms that are present in the Bible today are not the same songs revealed to David. Many scholars believe that the Psalms of today were written by several authors from different times.

The psalms of today are important to both the Jewish and Christian faiths. However, they have very little relevance in Islamic life.

Since Prophet Daud (David, peace be upon him) preached Tawheed (monotheism), his original message is still preserved in the Quran.

Unknown said...

The Injeel

The Injeel is the book of Allah revealed to Prophet Eesa (Jesus, peace be upon him). Injeel means evangelion, or Gospel Book. It is often just translated as The Gospel.

Like the Tawrat, many people make the mistake of stating the Injeel is the New Testament of the Bible. But that is far from the truth.

The New Testament consists of written work attributed to some of Jesus’ disciples. And a good portion of the New Testament was written by Paul, who was not a disciple at all.

Most modern scholars have concluded it is highly unlikely that Jesus’ actual disciples wrote any part of the New Testament. Even if they had written it (which they did not) They were not the prophets of Allah.

While there may be some truth in the writings popularly known as the Gospels of Mark, Luke, John, and Matt, Muslims are not obliged to follow or even read them.

The only Gospel we are concerned with, is the Gospel of Jesus. But like many other Books of Allah, the actual text is no longer available.

And like all of the other Books of Allah, the message of the Injeel is preserved in the message of the Quran.

The Quran

The Quran is the final Book of Allah. It was revealed through Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It’s primary message is the message of Tawheed, or Islamic monotheism.

The Quran is the only one of Allah’s books that is still available in the original text. Allah has promised in the Quran that His message will be preserved forever, and 1400 years later, that is still true.

The preservation of the Quran was done in a magnificent and foolproof manner. Since the time of Prophet Muhammad, Muslims have made it a practice to memorize all or parts of the Quran. During the time of Prophet Muhammad, there were several Muslims that memorized the Quran in its entirety.

The Quran was put in full written form just a few years after Prophet Muhammad died. Not centuries later like the Bible. If anyone had made a mistake, then there were hundreds of others to correct them.

The tradition of memorizing the Quran still holds true. You can visit any Muslim country (and many non-Muslim ones also) and meet any number of Hafeez ul-Quran (Keepers of the Quran). These are people who have memorized the entire Quran.

The Quran that we use today, is exactly the same as the one used over a thousand years ago. And since the Quran is in Arabic, we always have one, standardized version.

Even if every single Quran in print today were destroyed, and every computer disk holding the Quran were destroyed, and every audio tape, CD, DVD, or film with the Quran were destroyed, it could be reproduced in a matter of hours.

The Quran is the final Book of Allah, and its core message envelopes the message of all of Allah’s Books:

God will ask from his believers something that is difficult.
Even impossible.
Jesus asks of us something that is against human nature. Forgive your enemys. Romans 13:9-10. Luke 23:34. Gal 5:13
What is more difficult than that?
God reminds us that we need him. He us reminds how broken we are without him.
Human nature (sin) however kills, rapes, "idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions" (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭20‬ ESV).
This is what Islam preaches.
Sharia Law allows Muslims to kill non-muslims even kill their own wives. It preaches hatred.
Where is the love?
Will God ask of you something that is so easy that it comes naturally? Or will God ask something of you that requires daily reminders that, without God, we are lost. Gal 5:13-26
Therefor by extention, will a made up religion be more forgiving or a living God.
As a boss I require my employees to perform to their capacity, not something that can be done without trying.
I therefor only kneel to Jesus Christ the living God. The Creator, the alpha and Omega.

What I find very interesting is that as science develops, it has never contradicted the bible. At the time that the Psalms were written the idea of a round earth did not exist yet Ps 103:12 already tells us the earth is round. "as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. "(‭ESV)

Please don't make the mistake of worshiping God's creation, the gravest sin God will never forgive unless the person corrects this mistake now, before death takes away this chance.

The book of John clearly states from Jesus mouth he has to go so the Holy Ghost will come to walk within people. If you read the book of John starting with at least Chapter 10 on through the book of Acts chapter 3 it clearly shows what the Holy Ghost is. You will receive HIM (a portion of God and you will speak in tongues as the evidence). The day of Pentecost was REAL....I've gotten the Holy Ghost so I know it is real and NOONE can tell me otherwise. JESUS knew he had to be crucified for our sins and so the Holy Ghost could be available to us. And he would walk inside of every day as long we stayed strong in prayer in and faith! No I'm talking of the GIFT of Tongues because that is something else where someone has to be there to interpret for the crowd among but I am talking of the HOLY GHOST. A personal spiritual experience that happens between you and GOD that you have no control over! And until you seek it and receive it, you will NEVER understand it! Peter says clearly in the book of John : everyone be baptized in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the Remission of your sins and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost..... (this is how we are saved). Not just accepting him into our hearts with some mild prayer. But fully having that emotional and spiritual connection that can ONLY be done through getting the Holy GHost! It's the most amazing, wonderful, peaceful feeling in the world and helps you walk the straight and narrow like your own personal shield from the DEVIL....wish you ALL could seek and experience! No where!!!! All worship is directed to God, the creator of Jesus. John 20:17 (New International Version)
[17]Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' "
Because Jesus was just a man, and didn't see himself worthy of worship. A chosen man, granted, but a man nevertheless. The only rightful being to be worshiped is God. Jesus was not after worship. He was promoting a direct relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Our prophet Mohamed(peace be upon him) told us to love and respect Christianity and other religions, in fact we cannot be Muslim without doing that. This article says that Muslims say that Jesus claimed to be a God. Which is 100% False , we don't say that , the truth is we love Jesus as much as you do same as the other prophets like Noah, Jacob, Adam...and we all know that Jesus was a prophet and a messenger of God just like Mohamed, & What makes us say that, is that Jesus has distinctively made a distinction between him and God in the Bible when his followers started calling him "Good" he said:" DO NOT CALL ME GOOD, NOBODY'S GOOD EXCEPT GOD" , you can go and check it out!

The body with blood in it is not good. That is what Jesus was saying. The spirit in Jesus is what was good. Allah is who Muhammad saw saying he was Gabriel not being Gabriel. Gabriel would not have talked like that being talked. Gabriel would not have behaved like that being behaved. Muslims obey a dishonest being. That being respects no one. That being does not respect himself. That being being obeyed made ISIS what it is today.

Lamia Hadri, You say . . .

"Our prophet Mohamed(peace be upon him) told us to love and respect Christianity and other religions, in fact we cannot be Muslim without doing that."

How did the Qur'an get it so horribly wrong*?

Why has Islam not moved to correct and rewrite the Qur'an to get it right?

Why is Islam not waging war against those who are committing genocide against non-Muslims (ISIS, Boko Haram, etc.)?

You and your ideologues have a tremendous amount of work to do if you want your views of Islam to become a reality. It doesn't appear that anyone has started yet. Do you have any idea of when this reformation will begin?

Any Muslim can't be Muslim unless he believes that Jesus (pbuh) was a prophet and a messenger of God,because if we didn't believe in Jesus, we wouldn't consider that the Bible is a Holy book was revealed to him. The only reason why we disagree with Christian is when they say Jesus is God. The man is telling you [ Do not call me Good, nobody's Good except GOD]! The thing is Christians don't wanna see the truth that it's written in their own Book! It's similar to someone who wants to see the sun but with his eyes closed!

no disrespect to musims, but there is only one word of god + that is the inspired word of god the bible. please read: jojn 9:35-39. don't let your pride blind you to the truth of god's word. there is only one saviour - jesus - and there is only one way to get to god the father and that is through the only begotten son who is jesus. we can't go either side, or under, or over the cross of jesus who is both god and saviour. we have to leave our sinful pride behind us and come to the cross of jesus with our sins and rely totally on god's grace (unmerited favour) through faith in what jesus did for us on the cross of calvary. god says in his word the bible, that our righteousness is as a filthy rag!!! he doesn't need our help in saving us from sin or reconciling us back to himself. call on the name of the lord jesus christ and you will have the assurance of forgiveness from all sins and be assured of reconciliation with god. please make the effort to read god's word the bible....

If you are biased you are going to either like this article or not. Personally I read it and all I saw was someone trying to attack Muslims. But after reading the comments I see that most of you don't get it.. You can throw out all of you opinions about the bible or any religon for that matter. You can call yourself whatever you want to call yourself. The bottom line is that there is ONLY ONE GOD!! Are you doing what you need to do to serve him? Because it's not your problem if the next person is or isn't! Some of you just choose not to even open your mind.

For Jesus(A S) to say He is God will have contradicted statements maded by
By him in the Bible. What is my proof
John 13:3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;

John 17:6-8: 6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known that ALL THINGS whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

It is eveidently clear that Jesus (AS) is Not God Almighty and was only acting as a Messenger. If other verses from the same Bible speaks contrary then we have a proof of clear contradictory statements in the Bible. Salaam

The reason Jesus never claimed to be God is because he is not and will never be God and he will deny it the same way he did when being tried and found guilty. Matthew 4:10 Jesus tells Satan the god alone should be worshipped. And moreover Jesus says to honor him like his father. There is a drastic difference between homage/honor/great respect and worship. I was raised Catholic and have read much into all religions. Allah is viewed as the god of Abraham and Moses the same the Jewish may refer to as Hashem and the Christian term God. ( assuming all believe that Abraham and Moses where his projects) so to insult Allah would be to insult God. And in all faiths we are not to partner anyone with God. Whether you see Jesus as a son of God (metaphorically or literally) he was and brought into existance as an external to god. Not God himself. Jesus even claims to have authority. Not the original power of creation or judgement of God. So prohet or son he is to be respected and honored as a bringer of light to the world but not God himself

Be very careful about justifying the koran.
Why?
Because when M. conquered Christian and Jewish villages and took prisoners into his camps he had to find some way to have them easily assimilate. He was a very clever militant soldier and devised a way to use his supposed epilepsy to his advantage. You see, he KNEW all about the Bible and what his Christian and Jewish prisoners believed and whenever he suffered an epileptic fit, he said that was when he received the messages from the angel.
He wrote the koran and copied very important passages and said that was allah's message. People believed him and this is why so many passages as so similar to the Bible.
Also, he copied the design of the mosque to be very much like the synagogue.
Many other cultural things he copied. The best place to find what is in the book written in 1912, The Life and Religion of Mohammed.
I suggest that you all order this book and read each and every word. It will open your eyes!

I have both Muslim friends and friends who were Muslims and came to faith in Jesus (who have taught me much about Islam). I have lived for over 25 years in a Muslim countries. Until today, nobody has been able to tell me what/where in the Bible there were passages that were corrupted. Nobody has been able to produce a pre-"corrupted" Bible. I've heard some say that the Apostle Paul corrupted it. Others have told me it was one of the other apostles. However, Mohammed came hundreds of years AFTER the supposed corruption...and yet he blessed both the Old and New Testaments. So there couldn't have been changes made pre-Mohammed that led to the Bible's corruption (per Mohammed's testimony). They must have come after he came and gone. But that possibility has been destroyed by the discovery of approximately 25,000 extant manuscripts from before Mohammed's time that match the Bibles we have today.

DAVID WOOD; I have just come across this Forum by Pure Accident Only, and I have read both For And Against That Jesus is God from the perspective of The Bible, as stated by various Writers in this Forum. I am writing only in reference to The Bible ALONE, and I am not comparing The Bible with other Holy Books. Just what is stated in The Bible ONLY. One thing is clear is that there is no Direct Statement from The Bible from Jesus himself stating that Jesus is God. There are statements from the Bible Implying that Jesus is God. You have answered that Jesus is God By Quoting those verses from The Bible that implies that Jesus is God. However, there is no Answer from you with regard to those other verses from The Bible which also implies that Jesus Christ is not God, As posted by the other Writers. You answer their Statements by Quoting other Verses Of The Bible which implies that Jesus is God. However, quoting other Verses from The Bible which implies that Jesus is God does not really answer the Other Verses from The Bible which also implies that Jesus is not God. My Question To You is that can you please explain those other verses from The Bible As Posted By the other Writers which Implies that Jesus is not God. I have noted that you have said that, but, if you read further it goes further to say that by implication Jesus is God. But, what is your Explanation Of those Verses from The Bible which implies that Jesus is not God ? It is not convincing to say, Well, here are other Verses from The Bible, which implies that Jesus is God. That is not the Question. The Question is not about are there Verses from The Bible which implies that Jesus is God ? Nobody is disputing that, as everybody can read it for themselves. The fact remains that there are also these other Verses from The Bible As Posted By other Writers that implies that Jesus is not God. An Explanation is needed on these Verses from The Bible As to why Jesus said it which implies that he is Not God ? I have also noted that you have asked other Writers not to take it out of context and not to cut and paste. But the fact remains, that those other Verses from the Bible As stated by other Writers do exist which implies that Jesus is not God. It is not a Question that these Verses have been cut and paste but the Question is Why did Jesus say these Verses which implies that he is Not God ? It seems that there is a Contradiction. On the one hand there are Verses from The Bible which implies that Jesus is God. On the other hand there are also verses from The Bible which implies that Jesus is not God. Would Appreciate your detail Explanation on this, DAVID WOOD, especially in answering my Question As To why Jesus said these other verses as stated by the other Writers which implies that Jesus is not God.

Bible verses that say Jesus is God
If anyone tries to tell you that Jesus is not God in the flesh close your ears because anyone who believes that blasphemy will not enter into Heaven. Jesus said if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins. If Jesus wasn’t God how could He die for our sins?

25 Important Bible Verses That Say Jesus Is God

Not only your sins or my sins, but everyone in the whole world. God said that He is the only Savior. Can God lie? Scripture clearly says there is only one God so you must believe the Trinity. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 divine persons in one.

These Bible verses are to show and prove that Jesus is God unlike what the Mormons teach. The Pharisees were angered because Jesus claimed to be God. If you claim Jesus is not God what makes you different from the Pharisees?

What does the Bible say?

1. John 10:30 The Father and I are one.

2. Philippians 2:5-6 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.

3. John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

4. John 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

5. Colossians 2:9-10 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily. and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

Jesus claimed to be God.

6. John 10:33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”

7. John 5:18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

Jesus is the Word.

8. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

9. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus Christ is the only way into Heaven.

10. 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

11. Romans 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

I am He

12. John 8:57-58 The people said, “You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!”

13. John 8:22-24 This made the Jews ask, “Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’?” But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”

14. John 13:18-19 “I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turned against me.’ “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am.

First and last: There’s only one God

15. Isaiah 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.

16. 1 Corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

17. Revelation 2:8 “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: ‘The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life.

18. Revelation 1:17-18 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

Only God can be worshiped. Jesus was worshiped.

19. Matthew 2:1-2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

20. Matthew 28:8-9 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.

Prayed to

21. Acts 7:59-60 And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

The Trinity

22. Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

23. 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Examples

24. John 20:27-28 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

25. 2 Peter 1:1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

I keep seeing Muslims posting here stating that the Bible is corrupted, and with the many version you can't get the truth. Nothing could be further from the truth. As a matter of fact there are over 20,000 copies of the original text in many languages that date back to the the first century. There is Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew text that are still in existence.
There are the Dead Sea Scrolls, The Codex Vaticanus and many more that all match. There are also thousands of Roman, Greek and Hebrew Historical records records that backup the Bible all through out History.

The Quran on the other hand has no such original text, It was all destroyed 200 years after Muhammad lived, when the 5th Caliphate compiled the Quran, which it turns out, there were 5 Different Qurans produced that survived the new few hundred years. Each one of these was different from the other. History also shows that Muhammad never in his lifetime ever used the Names "Muslim or Islam", there is no records at that time, from any other civilization that existed that ever recorded the Arabs using those names, or being called MUSLIM or ISLAM.

History also shows that the single largest collection that was given to Abdon Mallach, the Caliphate who pieced together remnants of the Quran, was icomplete because the man who's family held the original documents said "I threw away most of the script because it was so outlandish and unbelievable as fairy-tale".

The BIBLE is God's word, and Jesus was sent to earth to redeem mean. Since the time of Creation, Jesus was with God. In Genesis 1:26-27, God said: 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

God was speaking to Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
We read in John 1:1-5 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Finally if you compare the Bible to the Quran you can see they are NOT from the same author. The Holy Spirit Guided each man that wrote for the Bible, and as such there is an "Axium" a code or style that matches throughout the Bible. The Quran pales in comparison to the Bible in that regard and sounds like the ramblings of an uneducated desert goat herder, and multiple scribes. The Old testament exist to tell of the Coming of Jesus the Son of God and you find Him all through out the Old Testament, not only referring to Jesus coming in the Flesh, but Jesus appearing in the Old testament. Example: When Daniel and his friends were throne into the fire for not bowing Down to Baal ( aka Allah) they were no burned. The Kings own mean were killed from standing too close to the fire. In Daniel 3: 24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counselors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. 26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire. 27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellers, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Jesus came to earth as a man to become the sacrifice for all men sins. You must understand this to understand God's love for man. He is a God that sits on High, but also sent his son so that all who believe in him should not perish, or be thrown into the fires of hell.
To Say that God cannot have a Son, is Blasphemy and only the children of the Devil make this claim. God can do anything. God is all powerful. God has given all power over heaven and earth to his Son Jesus. They are One God with the Holy Spirit. There is none other. Muhammad was not a messenger of God, He was a false prophet who was a servant of Satan. Even IF it was an Angel that Muhammad saw in the cave, it was Satan, not God. Muhammad never claimed to have direct communication with God, only the Angel Gabriel, but we know by looking at Bible History that God did not work this way. God did not send Angels to represent him and dictate scripture. By all measures of the Bible, Muhammad was NOT a prophet of God, therefore any claims he made were just not true. Anyone who follows Muhammad will not see Life in Heaven, but the Fires of Hell.

John 3:35-35
35The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. 36Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

humble enough not to say that He is God. But the bible did reveal who Jesus really is. It's a revelation. If you see me in a Rolls Royce and I tell you that I have to take my father's Rolls Royce because my brother borrowed my Lamborghini, anyone whom I don't know who overheard me will automatically know that I'm a rich kid. Thus, I will never need to say that I am rich. Remember Paul's conversion? He was on his way to Damascus when Jesus spoke to him from heaven. Biblically, only God have this ability to speak from heaven. Even angels have to come down and deliver God's message. If Jesus is not an angel, not God, then who is He? Glory to Jesus the living God!

Hi David Wood - I really appreciate this article. My cousin who is Muslim asked that question - about where Jesus Himself says He is God and its very useful to me to have all these references.

Me accepting Christ was not based on research and testing the authenticity of the Bible..
I had experiences and came to understand that God wouldn't tell me to love another without showing me how to love first and there is no love without giving or sacrifice. It's beautiful that God did that for us Himself. This is how I am sure that Jesus is not just a prophet.

So such articles are very helpful for me to answer someone who may accept Christ based on research.

She also asked about the authenticity of the Bible. Is there an article about this
? Where the original manuscripts are and how they confirm the truth in the translated Bible we read today?

If Jesus had been criss-crossing Judea and Galilee claiming to be Yahweh, the Creator, why did no one accuse him of this "blasphemy" when he was brought before the Sanhedrin?

https://lutherwasnotbornagaincom.wordpress.com/2021/11/17/damning-evidence-that-jesus-never-claimed-to-be-god/

The truth is, while Jesus probably claimed to be the Messiah, and that is what got him killed, there is no good evidence in the Synoptic Gospels that he ever claimed to be God.
