Obama's Failed Syria Program Cost $2 Million Per Trainee

Western politicians and the media overwhelmingly supported the "Arab Spring," which, they thought, would lead to the flourishing of freedom and democracy in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Instead, the movement led to the empowerment of groups like ISIS and the extermination of Christians, Yazidis, and minority Muslim sects.

The Obama Administration, still convinced that a peace-loving population of Muslims would rise up against their violent co-religionists, spent loads of money funding moderate Muslim soldiers. The result? There are only 95 of the program's trainees remaining in Syria. Thus, the Pentagon spent millions of dollars per trainee to fund a force incapable of standing against the weakest of jihadist groups.

Washington (USA Today)—When the Pentagon pulled the plug last month on its plan to train and field a force of moderate Syrians to combat the Islamic State, it had spent $384 million, or $2 million per fighter, for a program that produced dismal results, according to interviews and spending figures obtained by USA TODAY.

The Pentagon had tabbed $500 million in 2015 for the effort and promised to graduate 3,000 trained and equipped New Syrian Forces fighters this year, and 5,000 annually thereafter to combat the Islamic State, also known as ISIL.

The program was suspended after $384 million had been spent. Of the 180 Syrians vetted, trained and equipped, 145 fighters remain in the program. Of those, 95 are in Syria today. President Obama Says Muhammad Was "Not a Real Man"

In a shocking instance of lucid thinking, President Barack Obama declared that the Qur'an is "contemptible," "uncivilized," and "unmanly." Okay, so he didn't say it directly. But by condemning Ray Rice for domestic abuse, President Obama has condemned the Qur'an and Muhammad. A recent press release declared:

The President is the father of two daughters. And like any American, he believes that domestic violence is contemptible and unacceptable in a civilized society. Hitting a woman is not something a real man does, and that’s true whether or not an act of violence happens in the public eye, or, far too often, behind closed doors. Stopping domestic violence is something that’s bigger than football – and all of us have a responsibility to put a stop to it. (Source)

How is this a condemnation of the Qur'an? In Surah 4, verse 34, Allah declares:

Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great.

Since domestic abuse, according to the president, is "contemptible and unacceptable in a civilized society," the Qur'an must be contemptible and uncivilized.

Moreover, Muhammad himself, like Ray Rice, was known to hit women, as we can see in this excerpt from Sahih Muslim 2127:

... He (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O Aisha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you? ...

Because President Obama believes that "hitting a woman is not something a real man does," the president has just declared that Muhammad was not a "real man."

Approval of U.S. among Arabs Lower under Obama Than under Bush

Obama's plan was simple. After becoming President of the United States, he would praise Islam, quote the Qur'an, bow to Muslim leaders, give speeches in the Middle East, and show us all that terrorism can be defeated with soothing words.

Reality is officially setting in. By putting himself forward as the champion of American-Islamic relations, Obama led Muslims to believe that he would carry out their interests--ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, pulling U.S. forces entirely out of the Muslim world, turning a blind-eye towards terrorist networks, and throwing Israel under the bus.

No one can say that Obama hasn't tried to please Muslims. But when a religion demands total submission, adherents often do as well. Now that Muslims are realizing that Obama isn't going to do enough for their cause, his popularity is plummeting.

WASHINGTON — Two years after US President Barack Obama called in a groundbreaking speech from Cairo for a "new beginning" in relations with the Muslim world, his popularity among Arabs has nosedived, a poll released Wednesday shows.

An overwhelming majority of more than 4,000 people surveyed in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, told the Arab American Institute that they felt that Obama had not met the expectations he laid out in the June 2009 Cairo speech, the poll found.

Obama called in his Cairo speech for an end to the cycle of "suspicion and discord" between the United States and Muslim world, and outlined a new US blueprint for the Middle East, which included a Palestinian state and efforts to defuse a nuclear showdown with Iran.

But the poll found that Arabs see the Obama administration's handling of key Middle East policy issues as having made no contribution to improving relations between them and the United States.

In fact, the two issues on which the US administration has invested "considerable energy -- the Palestinian issue and engagement with the Muslim world -- receive the lowest approval ratings," the survey found.

Less than nine percent of the people polled said the Obama administration has handled the two key issues well.

The Arab world's image of the US as a whole has also soured to become even less favorable than during the last year of the administration of president George W. Bush, under whom the United States led an international coalition that invaded Iraq, the survey found.

The killing by US Navy SEALs of Osama bin Laden did little to improve Arabs' views of the United States. Majorities in all six countries said they viewed the United States less favorably following the killing of the Al-Qaeda head in Pakistan. (Read more.)

New York Post--Two American servicemen were killed last week on as signment overseas. No, not in Iraq or Afghanistan, but in Frankfurt, Germany, for the simple act of getting on a bus. A lone Muslim gunman opened fire on the unsuspecting airmen at the Frankfurt airport, killing Nicholas J. Alden and Zachary R. Cuddeback and wounding two others. He shouted "Allah Akbar" as he shot -- making it plain he was murdering in the name of his god.

A few days earlier, four Americans sailing in the Indian Ocean on a mission of Christian mercy -distributing Bibles to remote churches -- were captured by Somali pirates in international waters and executed while US naval officers were trying to negotiate their release.

The reaction from the administration was dispassionately anodyne, as if these people had met with some freak accident. President Obama called Frankfurt a "tragic event," while Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the pirate incident left her "deeply saddened and very upset."

Meanwhile, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley did the usual Obama pretzel, avoiding any mention of Islam in connection to Frankfurt. Asked whether the sudden jihad explosion of a Muslim Kosovar holding German citizenship was a terrorist incident, Crowley replied evasively: "Was the shooting of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords a terrorist attack? You have to look at the evidence and look at the motivation, and then you make a judgment, and that is a process as far as I know that is ongoing."

There you have it: an "upset" administration engaged in a "process" over a "tragic event." Is there a better or more pathetic image of a nation in deliberate retreat from great-power status?

'Twas not always thus. Presidents used to understand that an attack on Americans overseas was an attack on the country.

In the earliest days of the republic, President Thomas Jefferson sent the fledgling US Navy to Tripoli in response to acts of brigandage. After years of campaigning, including some serious setbacks, US forces defeated the pirates at sea and sent the Marines ashore. The pasha of Tripoli, used to receiving ransom instead of fixed bayonets, sued for peace.

In 1904, Teddy Roosevelt was outraged by the kidnapping of Ion Perdicaris and his son by a bandit called the Raisuli. With the war cry, "Perdicaris alive or Raisuli dead!" TR sent the military to force the release of the Greek-American expatriate -- and cruised to victory in the presidential election later that year.

In April, 1986, the La Belle disco in Berlin was bombed, killing two US servicemen and wounding more than 50 others, at the behest of Libya's Moammar Khadafy. The atrocity came less than a year after the Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad hijackers of TWA flight 847 singled out an American sailor named Robert Stethem for torture and murder, then threw his body thrown onto the tarmac in Beirut. Realizing that it could no longer be open season on US military personnel abroad, President Ronald Reagan responded to the Berlin attack by bombing Tripoli and Benghazi a couple of weeks later.

In the decades since, America has allowed itself to be hamstrung by the asymmetric nature of radical Islam's war against the West. Its adherents move easily from country to country, apparently secure in their membership in the ummah, or worldwide communion of Muslims. Western nation-states have been largely unable to hold a single "nation" responsible in the court of international law.

Unless and until we can come up with the proper military and political response to such outrages -- perhaps by ramping up our covert-ops missions -- we are going to lose more of our fellow citizens to crimes of opportunity like Frankfurt. As we saw in the run-up to 9/11, unanswered provocations can have the gravest consequences. Americans want more than vague promises to "bring them to justice." They want results.

"When people see a strong horse and a weak horse," said Osama bin Laden in November 2001, "by nature they will like the strong horse." Having declared war on America and Israel in 1996, bin Laden knew who his enemy was.

Barack Obama's Muslim Grandmother Praying That He Converts to Islam

RIYADH — US President Barack Obama's Kenyan grandmother says she prayed during a hajj pilgrimage to Mecca for the American leader to convert to Islam, a newspaper revealed on Thursday.

"I prayed for my grandson Barack to convert to Islam," said Sarah Omar, 88, in an interview with Al-Watan Saudi daily held in Jeddah after she had performed hajj.

The paper said that Omar was in Saudi Arabia on pilgrimage along with her son, Obama's uncle Saeed Hussein Obama, and four of her grandchildren.

Omar told the newspaper that she could only discuss hajj matters and would not comment on Obama's politics.

The family appeared to have been hosted by the Saudi government for hajj. Saeed thanked King Abdullah for his "kind hospitality," the paper said.

US opinion polls in August revealed that roughly one in five Americans believe that Obama is a Muslim, a claim categorically denied by the White House which has maintained that he is a "committed Christian." (Source)

Obama Teaches Hindus about Islam

In the following video, President Obama claims that Islam is a great religion. A small minority of Muslims, however, has distorted the teachings of Islam. These radical misunderstanders of Islam have misinterpreted Muhammad's commands.

For instance, some Muslims have distorted the following passage (which obviously calls for peace, tolerance, and universal love), and they claim that it calls for fighting unbelievers.

Qur’an 9:29—Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

How radical Muslims could ever misinterpret such a clear call for a unity of all faiths is beyond me.

Obama's "Charm Offensive" vs. Global Jihad

Radical Islam's hatred of the United States is not a recent phenomenon, it has nothing to do with "respect," and it isn't going to be extinguished by sweet words - not even those of so sweet a speaker as our new president. Sooner or later, Obama must confront an implacable reality: The global jihad, like the Cold War, will end only when our enemies lose their will to fight - or when we do.
