Fact-Checking "10 Lies You Were Told about Islam" (Part Two)

The video "10 Lies You Were Told about Islam" attempts to respond to various false claims made about Islam and Muslims. However, the video-makers tell their viewers that the Qur'an says that “One who kills a non-Muslim person under protection will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise,” and “Whoever hurts a non-Muslim, I shall be adversary to him, on the Day of Resurrection.” These words are found nowhere in the Quran. Instead, they are versions of sayings found in the Hadith, but in the Hadith, they have a very different meaning from the meaning provided by AllTime10s.

Sure, you can find all sorts of things wrong with this movie if you read the Quran and Hadith, but these people meant well and that is all that matters. Besides you can't trust the Quran and Hadith, they were written over a 1,000 years ago and repeating anything in them makes you a racist.

For the modern liberal truth is what they feel it should be, anything else has to be destroyed.

As for the beating, no horse (or baby seal) is so dead that you can't beat it some more. So, keep on beating, they deserve it.

Dear David,

I am not sure if my previous comment was sent or not... I had some internet problem...

So I am sending this again. Ignore if you have recieved my previous comment.

So I have been following your videos and debates. And boy do I like you... I mean you just thrash those muslims... Great job...

I have lots of questions which I want to ask you about ISLAM... None of the muslim people whom I have approached have shown willingness to answer these hard questions.

Would love to get those answers from you. I admire you study of Quran.

I am commenting on this post because I don't know how else to get in touch with you.

If there is a better way to communicate with you, I'll love do to it that way.

Looking forward to have a positive reply from you.

@John McClean...I'll help out as much as I can if the questions are pretty simple. I have been studying islam for many years, NOT to the depth of Mr. Wood, but sufficient enough to hold my own ground in a debate.

A good reminder of our sound-bite, google-grab research culture--thanks for taking the time to subsume the flimsy top-ten list with context and truth.

Dear David,

I love the Truth you present

My name is David Kingsley and I am a Christian from Canberra, Australia.

I have been desperately attempting to get in contact with someone experienced with some of the doctrines within Islam, as well as early historical Islam (Christian Apologist). I am trying to verify some of the information that Jay Smith has outlined in his numerous lectures and debates. The reason being is that a very close friend of mine who is a Muslim adherent was having a friendly dialogue with me recently and was not aware of several points I discussed with him that I have listed below. They mostly comprise of Jay Smith's work which I was hoping that you or Jay Smith might be able to confirm for me please.
My Muslim friend Hussain is a very affable person and is open to new information and historical facts and evidence based information. He has asked me when we meet up early next week if I could expand on what we had already discussed and provide some examples. Therefore, I plan on providing these historically accurate points below. If you could please confirm these points below for me, I would be very grateful.

Quran
• That Muhammad is only referred to four times in the Quran. Chapter 3 verse 144, Chapter 33 verse 40, Chapter 47 verse 2 and Chapter 48 verse 29.
• Belief that the Quran is eternal Chapter 85 versus 21 & 22
• That Muhammad is the last prophet and seal of the prophets Chapter 33 verse 40
• That the Quran is the final revelation and corrects all previous revelation. Islam is the final religion and corrects all previous corrupted religions. Chapter 2 verse 106
• The Quran dictates that any adherent of the faith physically and fiscally able to, should make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life time. Chapter 2 verse 129

Facts
• The first biography of the Prophet is written down by Ibn Isaq in 765 AD known as the ‘Sīratu Rasūli l-Lāh’ or (“Life of the messenger of God”)
• Sahih al-Bukhari is considered one of the most authentic and integral Hadith (collection of quotes of the prophet himself) compiled and written around 850 AD.
• First Arab inscriptions referencing Muhammad is in 691 AD
• The first reference to Muslims is considered to have been inscribed in early to mid 690 AD
• The first reference to Islam is in 691 AD on the ‘Dome of the Rock’
• The first reference to the city Mecca is in 741 AD
• The first biography of Muhammad within Islamic sources is 833 AD by Ibn Hisham

If you could please verify these points listed as accurate and add anything else that you consider would be of benefit and value I would be sincerely grateful for.

Again, many thanks in advance

Yours faithfully,

David Kingsley
