Muhammad's Eleven Wives (and the Qur'anic Limit of Four Wives)

According to the Qur'an, Muslim men are allowed to have up to four wives at one time (Qur'an 4:3). Muhammad, however, was married to eleven wives at once:

Sahih al-Bukhari 268—“Anas bin Malik said, ‘The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number.’ I asked Anas, ‘Had the Prophet the strength for it?’ Anas replied, ‘We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men).’ And Sa'id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven).”

So if Allah's eternal Word says that Muslims can marry no more than four wives, why did Muhammad get more? It seems that Allah's eternal Word also contains an exception for Muhammad. Qur'an 33:50 says that Muhammad (and only Muhammad) was free to take for himself as many wives as he liked.

Getting suspicious yet?

Islam is not a joke. Yes Prophet married 13 times in order to give the women protection who were helpless due to war. It was a tradition amongst arabs to uphold the honor of queens by marrying them with the kings so that they aren't mistreated by common men. Please search the backgrounds of those women whom Prophet have married and they were all daughters of tribal leaders who have lost the battle or helpless women. One of the wives, Jawariya, married Prophet and as a gift, all of her tribesmen who have fought against the Prophet and lost miserably, were freed.
Don't forget the fact that Prophet married a woman, 15 years his senior, in his youthful age of 25 and kept a single marriage until she died when he was approx 40 or more. If he was that bad and hasn't kept to the words, he would have his indulgences in his youth.

Hi I born in a muslim family in Pakistan. This is eye opening and I totally agree with the efforts you are doing. I really now understand that I was living in illusions. Thanks for clarifying everything to me.

Why he needed to marry...if protection was the motive then he could have done this accepting them as sisters as well.

Answer to Neha Fatima
He could protect and help them without marrying, for example if you are a poor person with no job and there is a war in your city, do you like the president move you to a safe city and give you job and leave you free to find suitable husband, or do you like the president give you only food and house and put you in your butt and pussy
