Christianity Declining Much Faster Than Reported in Great Britain

Also, one in ten people under the age of 25 in Great Britain are Muslim.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of Christianity's critics when they finally get their wish.

The Telegraph—Christianity could be facing a catastrophic collapse in Britain according to official figures suggesting it is declining 50 per cent faster than previously thought.

A new analysis of the 2011 census shows that a decade of mass immigration helped mask the scale of decline in Christian affiliation among the British-born population – while driving a dramatic increase in Islam, particularly among the young.

It suggests that only a minority of people will describe themselves as Christians within the next decade, for first time.

Meanwhile almost one in 10 under 25s in Britain is now a Muslim.

The proportion of young people who describe themselves as even nominal Christians has dropped below half for the first time.

Initial results from the 2011 census published last year showed that the total number of people in England and Wales who described themselves as Christian fell by 4.1 million – a decline of 10 per cent.

But new analysis from the Office for National Statistics shows that that figure was bolstered by 1.2 million foreign-born Christians, including Polish Catholics and evangelicals from countries such as Nigeria.

They disclosed that there were in fact 5.3 million fewer British-born people describing themselves as Christians, a decline of 15 per cent in just a decade.

At the same time the number of Muslims in England and Wales surged by 75 per cent – boosted by almost 600,000 more foreign born followers of the Islamic faith.

While almost half of British Muslims are under the age of 25, almost a quarter of Christians are over 65.

The average age of a British Muslim is just 25, not far off half that of a British Christian.

Younger people also drove a shift away from religion altogether, with 6.4 million more people describing themselves as having no faith than 10 years earlier. (Continue Reading.)

Yes, as per many reports, by 2050 germany will be islamic majority, most of europe will have muslims majority.
Mostly every muslim family will have at least 5 children, they marry , marry then breed, breed ,, that's what they do, their contribution is only production of children, what else they can do other than that! lol

i think third world war will be between muslims n non-muslims ,, hope non muslims will get ready for that !!!

If you believe in nothing, then you will believe in anything. And "anything" is going to mean more and more Islam.

This is driven by the rise of modern liberalism. However, modern liberalism flips the entire world upside-down: That which was good is not so after all, and that which was bad is not so bad after all. This leaves them blind to foreign and internal threats.

We need to save Europe. Like the Mormons, we Christians need to arrange ourselves into 24/7 evangelizing factories

This is the fault of multicultarism, abortion, and the liberal/progressive ideology. You allow others who DO NOT believe in what you believe (muslim immigrants). Who kill innocent babies (decline of your race). Rejecting God(Yahweh/Jesus). All of these 3 will lead to the demise of your country! Going forward I will ask a Brit "How is it going in Great Islamic Britain?"

I really don't think very many people will profess to be Muslim or Christian by 2050 JP... Once the baby boomer generation passes away that will be the demise of the last religious generation of its kind. All generations before ours we isolated and heavily influenced by traditional culture and religion. That's not the case anymore. Diversity, plurality, the Internet connecting the world, access to a better education and more information, better technology etc will help the Muslims of the next generation move past their religion.

There are more atheists in Iran then ever before. There are more people leaving Islam then ever before. There are more people leaving religion then ever before. There are more non-practicing people who profess a default belief then ever before. The generations that follow will either be spiritual and not religious of any kind or they will be atheist or agnostic.

What do you expect from a country whose state church ( the Anglican church ) endorsed and legalised same sex marriage. They did that to show how modern they were and so to appeal to their "liberal" citizens, and what did they get in return

declining 50 per cent faster than previously

The church shouldn't be involved with popularity contest, crowd appealing and political correctness, the church should hold fast to its christian traditions come what may.
Frankly I won't loose sleep over what will eventually happen to Britain. Like the old saying goes. "As you lay your bed so shall thee lie in it"
The only hope I see for england is if its former christian colonies especially in Black Africa come and rescue them from islamic demographics after all England took christianity to much of Africa and the Africans have a high birth rate as the muslims.

The "The Telegraph" got it wrong.

The Bible tells us that

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Men/Women who loves vain philosophy live in darkness

It is not about numbers, Jesus died for all ...

Yes, we all have a choice to make and judgement will be upon us ...

We as Christians pray for all and don't use a sword to chop heads!

"I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them." Ezekiel 39:21

@ Farhan Qureshi......
It has been 1700 years birth of church , and 1400 years birth of islam,, Particularly in this islam, each geneartion pasess, they become more arogant n aggressive, destructive way of thinking! do you think islam will be reduced within next few decades ? lol,, i dont think so,, rather they will become more arrogant.
look at how they increase population by marrying more wife,, more children,, wherever the muslims are in, that country struggles lot n they are threat to world and humanity,, see at pages of quran,, who reads it, they know what it is,, but most muslims accepts it,, they dont condemn it at all,, rather they feel it as true n obey it,,
i dont think we can change goat into cow,,

The decline of Christianity is a symptom of fear, not skepticism.
