Refuting Shabir Ally on the Preservation of the Bible

Contrary to popular Muslim belief, the Qur'an affirms the inspiration, preservation, and authority of the Christian scriptures. But if the Qur'an plainly declares that Christians have the Word of God, why do Muslims like Shabir Ally claim that the Bible has been corrupted? Quite simply, Muslims maintain that the Bible has been corrupted because the Bible contradicts the Qur'an. Hence, instead of acknowledging an obvious Qur'anic blunder (since it affirms scriptures that it contradicts), Muslims prefer to deny what the Qur'an clearly says!

The Koran's self-refutation:

Let the people of the Gospel [Christian scriptures] judge according to what Allah has revealed therein. EVIL-DOERS ARE THOSE THAT DO NOT JUDGE ACCORDING TO ALLAH'S REVELATIONS. 5:47

Should I [Mohammed] seek a judge other than Allah when it is He who has revealed the Book for you with all its precepts? THOSE TO WHOM WE GAVE THE SCRIPTURES KNOW THAT IT IS THE TRUTH REVEALED BY YOUR LORD. THEREFORE HAVE NO DOUBTS. 6:114-1

Proclaim what has been revealed to you from the Book [Christian and Jewish scriptures] of your Lord. NONE CAN CHANGE HIS WORDS. You shall find no refuge besides him. 18:27

This being the case, then the commands given in Matthew, as stated below, have ALL OF GOD'S AUTHORITY BEHIND THEM.

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ [Deuteronomy 6:5]
“This is the first and great commandment. “And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour* as yourself.’ [Leviticus 19:18] on these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.’” Matthew 22:36-40**

“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12 (Romans 13:1-5 explains how those who ignore this command are dealt with)

The Koran and Islam do not adhere to all of these commands at all times (a brief study of the Koran [e.g. 9:29] will demonstrate that it violates Matthew 7:12 in the extreme), thus rendering the Koran and Islam false.

Anyone who requires a solid reason and explanation for wanting to leave Islam has it in the above.

Some advice from a loving God:

“Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Almighty.” 2Corinthians 6:17, 18

*A neighbour is not just someone living next door, but anyone in our near vicinity at any time, as explained by Jesus in Luke 10: 25-37 where, with simple logic, he easily destroyed the argument of his cunning opponent.

**The two commandments in Mathew 22 are a summation of all of God’s commands and the key to understanding much of the riddle and mystery of the Bible; and the means of gaining an understanding of God’s true nature.
Mathew 22:37 encompasses the first four of the Ten Commandments and honours God directly.
Mathew 22:39 encompasses the last six of the Ten Commandments and is a directive to treat others with respect (Since we are all made in God’s image Genesis 1:26) and is the same in meaning as Mathew 7:12

The Islamic claim that the Bible has been corrupted is refuted by Bible's consitent relating of the history of the origin of sin and death (the Fall), and its messsage of salvation (e.g. Psalm 51) for all through Christ (John 3:16). The history and message do not change; from Genesis to Revelation.

Seed [Genesis 3:15]

Lion of the tribe of Judah [Genesis 49:9; Revelation 5:5]

Shiloh (the Messiah, the Peaceful One) [Genesis 49:10]

I AM [Exodus 3:14; John 8:58]

The Prophet [Deuteronomy 18:15 John 1;21]

The Son [Psalm 2:7, 12]

Rock, Salvation, Defence, Fortress [Psalm 62:2]

Redeemer [Job 19:25 Isaiah 44:6; 48:17]

Chief (the Lord...) among ten thousand (...of hosts) [Song of Solomon 5:10]

"Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name..." [Jeremiah 50:34]

Immanuel, Emmanuel (God with us, that is, manifested in the flesh. 1Timothy 3:16) [Isaiah 7:14; Mathew 1:23]

Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace [Isaiah 9:6]

The First and the Last [Isaiah 44:6; 48:12, 13 Revelation 1:11, 17, 18; 22:13]

Son of God [Daniel 3:25]

Saviour and Deliverer [Daniel 6:27]

Son of man [Daniel 7:13

The Messenger (of the good news of salvation) [Malachi 3:1]

Jesus Christ (Jesus the Messiah the Anointed One) [Mathew 1:1]

The Word [John 1:1-14]

Lamb of God [John 1:29]

The Way the Truth the Life [John 14:6]

Christ's advent and redeeming sacrifice as foretold in the Old Testament:

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us].”

For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given... Isaiah 7:14; 9:6

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

They pierced my hands and feet; I can count all my bones. They look and stare at me. They divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.” Psalm 22:1, 16-18

And as summarized in Revelation 13:8:

...of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

The Bible has the same consistent offer of salvation for an otherwise lost humanity, from beginning to end.

I just read the article callingchristians has posted as an answer under the youtube video. I must say - nice try ... well..not really

There are some major problems with this to just name one or two:

Hey claims that Jesus had his own Gospel - some kind of Book that Jesus wrote on his own, inspired by God (or something like this - or at least the oral teachings of Jesus) and that the New Testament has nothing to do with the "Gospel" the Quran is speaking of.

Well - any evidence for such a Jesus Gospel? The only evidence there is, would be to read the Quran in that way...

Another point is the supposed "wrong" way of reading "So if ..." and making some very bad comparising to some sex practice and he says that David Wood read it wrong and is "too stupid" to understand it properly. In my opinion, callingchristians didnt understand it correct.

"So if .. " surely doesnt mean that it is a permanent fact. But it says that IF you are in doubt, you should ask the Christians. So David did understand it properly and callingchristians is making some very bad arguments.

The article goes on with similar arguments - none did convince me and i must say, i have a very neutral opinion about these matters, as am not muslim nor a real christian. I just grew up in a Christian Land - my main interrest lies in the historical part of Christianity and Islam...

Oh - just one more thing.

By taking the argument from callingchristians, it just shows the inconsistency from muslims again.

One Question: If the later writings have nothing to do with the "Gospel" or at least the "teachings" of Jesus, why can a muslim then be sure, that the same thing does not apply to the Quran and Mohammed?

Maybe Mohammed teached that Jesus is the son of God - and the Quran, as written after Mohammeds death, is contradicting Mohammed in every way. Same argument ;)

A muslim told me that God cannot die, thus Jesus is not God because He died!

But wait, according to the qur'an Jesus did not die.

Does that mean that Jesus is after all God in the qur'an since He didn't die?

I'm confused! hahahahaha

Poor muslims, their own assertions always refute themselves. I've learned to only use muslims' arguments against them since they say the Bible is corrupt and they still crumble hahaha
