If you're expecting to hear Western feminists rally against Haleem, don't hold your breath. They're too busy defending Islam.
KOHISTAN / DASSU: A former lawmaker and cleric from Kohistan district, Maulana Abdul Haleem, termed formal education for women un-Islamic and asked parents to pluck their daughters from school, or else they would be ‘doomed’.
The nonagenarian, who was elected to the National Assembly from Kohistan on the now-defunct Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal’s ticket in 2002, also railed against non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working in the region in his Friday sermon, calling them ‘hubs of immodesty’.
Nestled in the Himalayas, the Kohistan district is picturesque, but also one of the least-literate and least developed in the country.
Maulana Haleem, who was an office-bearer of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl until recently, was delivering a Friday sermon, at Jamia Masjid Komila, on who is dayoos, or those liable to be condemned to hell.
“It’s beghairti (immodesty) to equip girls with secular education,” the cleric said, adding that those Kohistani parents who were sending their girls to schools were acting against ‘Islamic shariah’ and the local customs.
“The Kohistani culture does not allow parents to send their pardadar (modest) girls to schools,” the former lawmaker said.
He did not spare female NGO workers either.
“Some women from these NGOs visit our houses frequently, mobilising naïve Kohistani women to follow their agenda in the name of health and hygiene education,” he said, adding that this was ‘unacceptable to Kohistani culture’. He threatened them with ‘dire consequences’, saying that married female NGO workers will be sent back to their husbands, and the unmarried ones will be wedded to Kohistani men.
During his stint as a parliamentarian, Maulana Haleem had also declared poppy cultivation in Kohistan ‘in accordance with Islam’. (Read more.)

Of course and what they will say is Haleem is saying things contrary to Islam. They are experts on what Islam is - by definition a religion, one of peace and perfect in every way.
Though Maulana Abdul Haleem is actually right. An educated woman is less likely to subservient to a man, which Islam requires. In fact, Allah forbid, an educated woman might even, in all probability, reason out that Islam is a massive fraud to subdue her and rob her of her human rights to equality and freedom.
Now that is certainly contrary to islam
yep continue to cause woman to be dependent on men. nice way of control sounds like what the communist was doing in China and other places and why ancient kings burned books.
I thought Communism stresses equality of everyone? I thought everyone is a comrade? Then again, I can't help but notice the leaders of Communist states are always men...
The giant, Islamic macho-male ego is too fragile to allow women to be formerly educated, then she might be a threat. In Islam, every Muslim male is guaranteed to be his own little god, and women are just their property and sex toys. Hmmmm, what was satan's downfall . . . wanting to be God?

mmm let see Chairmen Mao burned books but his little red book of lame qoutes. I should be more clearer next time and say look at what the communist leaders did for a system that didn't work.
limiting knowledge is a political controller on people.
Can you please tell me where in the Quran it mention about what one of Prophet's wife said whenever the Prophet wanted "things of pleasure" he conveniently receive a relevation fron God. TQ
Skullbandit,
This doesn't come from the Qur'an. It's in the Hadith:
Narrated Aisha:
I used to look down upon those ladies who had given themselves to Allah’s Apostle and I used to say, "Can a lady give herself (to a man)?" But when Allah revealed: "You (O Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive any of them whom you will; and there is no blame on you if you invite one whose turn you have set aside (temporarily)." (33.51) I said (to the Prophet), "I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 311)
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: I felt jealous of the women who offered themselves to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Then when Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed this: "You may defer any one of them you wish, and take to yourself any you wish; and if you desire any you have set aside (no sin is chargeable to you)" (xxxiii. 51), I ('A'isha.) said: It seems to me that your Lord hastens to satisfy your desire. (Sahih Muslim, Book 008, Number 3453)
Everyone has the right to education, but if you adhere to the above requirements, then it's just a step back into the past. I think it's best to get a good education, as well as read fastessay review in order to make the right choice of writing services.
