Police Records Cast Doubt on California "Hate Crime"

For years, the media have assured us that Americans are suffering from a mental disorder called "Islamophobia." Oddly enough, the only evidence they've ever been able to produce for this charge is that many Americans believe in freedom of speech, freedom of religion, women's rights, etc. (values not shared by Muhammad and his companions).

Recently, however, the media finally found the proof they've been waiting for. A Muslim woman named Shaima Alawadi was brutally murdered in her California home. A note was reportedly found beside her body, calling her a terrorist and telling her to go back to her country. Her family said that she had received a similar note a few weeks earlier. Clearly, Shaima was murdered by racist, Islamophobic bigots who spend their days reading articles at Jihad Watch and Atlas Shrugs (but who somehow manage to ignore Spencer and Geller's repeated calls for peaceful activism).

Even before the facts were in, the media leapt at the chance to expose the bigotry and intolerance so prevalent in America. They assured us that Shaima was killed because she chose to wear the hijab, just as Trayvon Martin was killed for wearing a "hoodie." Women around the world have been posting pictures of themselves wearing the hijab, in a movement called "One Million Hijabs for Shaima." Muslims and non-Muslims have gathered at vigils to remember her.

But facts are beginning to emerge, and things aren't looking good for the media. Shaima was planning to divorce her husband and move to Texas. Her daughter Fatima was distraught over an impending arranged marriage with her cousin. As Fatima was being interviewed by police, she received a text message, which said: "The detective will find out tell them cnt talk."

Of course, it's always possible that further evidence will prove that Shaima was the victim of an anti-Muslim hate crime. In the meantime, the only "evidence" we have that this was perpetrated by "Islamophobes" was the note left by Shaima's body, which turned out to be a photocopy. All other evidence points in an entirely different direction.

EL CAJON — Search warrant records obtained Wednesday in the beating death of an Iraqi-American woman show a family in turmoil and cast doubt on the likelihood that her slaying was a hate crime.

Shaima Alawadi, a 32-year-old mother of five, was apparently planning to divorce her husband and move to Texas when she was killed, a family member told investigators, according to the court documents.

The records obtained at El Cajon Superior Court also reveal Alawadi’s 17-year-old daughter, Fatima Alhimidi, who called 911 to report the attack, was distraught over her pending arranged marriage to a cousin.

A search of Fatima’s cellphone records shows that while she was being interviewed by investigators hours after the attack, someone sent the teen a text message that read, “The detective will find out tell them (can’t) talk,” the affidavit states.

Fatima and her mother were the only ones at their El Cajon home on Skyview Street when the attack occurred about 11 a.m. on March 21.

Alawadi’s husband, Kassim Alhimidi, had reportedly left to take the couple’s other younger children to school, although police state in the March 27 affidavit that his whereabouts had not yet been confirmed. . . .

The sheriff’s crime lab determined a threatening handwritten note found near the victim was a copy, not the original, the records state. . . .

Some of the search warrant records remain sealed by a judge.

During a search of the home and the couple’s vehicles in the hours after the attack, police found court paperwork to file for divorce in Alawadi’s Ford Explorer. The packet was not filled out, but a form requesting a court fee waiver was filled out in handwriting with Alawadi’s name, address and phone number.

Majhed Alhasan, secretary for the Islamic Center of Lakeside and a close friend of the family, said Wednesday he had never heard that Alawadi had been thinking about a divorce and moving.

“This is the first time I’ve heard of it,” Alhasan said. “About a month ago, her mother, non-married sister and two non-married brothers moved to Texas.”

He said a married sister of Alawadi already was living in Houston.

Police also searched computers, cellphones and other devices. Among the evidence they were searching for was an earring matching a bloody one found near Alawadi. Family told investigators that she usually wore four earrings, according to the records.

Detectives were also seeking any other notes, a weapon similar to a tire iron and any forensic evidence.

Investigators also learned of a previous police contact with Fatima.

On Nov. 3, police found Fatima with a 21-year-old man after responding to a report of two people possibly having sex in a car, the documents state. Officers called her mother, who came to the location and picked up the girl. As they were driving away, Fatima said, “I love you, mom,” before jumping out of the vehicle onto Mollison Avenue at 35 mph.

She was taken to a hospital with several injuries, including a possible broken arm. She refused to talk to police at the hospital but reportedly told paramedics and hospital staff that she was being forced to marry her cousin and didn’t want to. (Read more.)

When I first saw Fatima on the news crying it looked so fake I can't believe anyone bought it. Take a look at it.

Killing two birds, with one stone.

It's obviously, an "honor killing". The note was a copy of the original, left by the husband and serves Islam in two ways. The shamed husband, takes sharia into his own hands, killing his wife, for dishonoring the family, then points the finger of blame at infidels for the crime, furthering the violent reactions of Muslims, an agenda, Islam espouses towards non-Muslims. The same Islamic tactics honed and employed for over 1400 years. This is further proof, that not only can't Muslims get along with anyone else, but they can't get along amongst themselves!

Oh dear.
This woman was only 32. It's a tragedy.

However, I saw the video of the daughter online and there is simply no way I believed a word of what she was saying. Her body language was all over the place. I wonder if her mother's death was also intended as a warning to her ?
If so, I think she has learned her lesson superquick. I'm torn between sympathy and disgust for her.

I understand this is all wild speculation on my part, but the idea that some random Islamophobe marked this particular housewife for murder is beyond belief. The cretinous hate-crime fairytale peddled by the family only goes to highlight their amazing arrogance and absolute distain for the authorities.

The whole sordid story makes me seethe with anger on so many levels. And don't even get me started on the candlelit vigils !!

There will be no justice for this woman. "THe family flew to Iraq to attend the funeral" there not comming back.

My bet is the daughter did it. And had a boyfriend help her cover it up.

On another note Paltalk Muslim Revert X Marine who served 9 or 10 years of a 25 year sentence for trying to blow up a cop for speeding tickets. Was arrested and hs been detained with out bail ever since.

After studying Islam for almost 2 years I HAVE FOUND THE BEST LEARNING RESOURCE YET!

The following 16 hour video course on "Apologetics to Islam" by Joe Carey (from radicaltruth.net) is the best course or class on Islam I have ever seen, HANDS DOWN. And I have collected about 15 of them on my site. It is so good I am going to show all 16 hours at my church. It is even a great resource for non-Christians to learn about Islam.

NO HYPE - YOU GOTTA SEE THIS - all of it! Joe has been studying Islam since 1999, has a Masters Degree in apologetics from Biola University (with and emphasis on Islam) and has been teaching this class for 5 years. Did I say it was awesome?

IF WE CAN GET THIS VIDEO SERIES SHOWN IN CHURCHES AROUND THE WORLD – WE WILL BEAT ISLAM = THE TEACHING SERIES IS THAT GOOD

The module titles in the playlist are 1. Introduction. 2. Islam 101 3. Jihad. 4. Muhammad. 5. The verdict of the Bible (not included, see here) 6. Survey of the Koran. 7. Women in Islam. 8. Answering Common Muslim Objections. 9 Sharing with Muslims.

Please check this out and spread it around. Here is the link

Lets reserve judgement until all the facts come out. She did not seem that distraught when she was being interviewed, but lets not forget that different people act differently when a death of their family occurs. My best friends mother died a few years ago and he actually did not seem to be struck with grief for a few weeks even though he was very close with his mother. It took him two weeks to finally break down and become distraught. Not everyone feels distraught at the same time. I will be keeping an eye on this case however, to see how it turns out.

Narrated by Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: “Increase your remembrance of the One which defeats pleasures” While we are to remember death, we have to prepare ourselves to meet it – before it meets us. In this regard our beloved Prophet (pbuh) said: ”Do for your life as if you are to live eternally, and do for the hereafter as if you are to die tomorrow. ”

There are some eerie similarities between this case and that of Fatimah Abdallah in Tampa, FL, in 2009:

Murders occurred in the homes of the victims;
Divorce or failed marriage implications;
Middle aged Muslim women bludgeoned to death;
Family evasive about what happened – hiding behind language barrier, etc.;
Quick rush to get the body, perpetrator, and/or witnesses out of the country;
Some evidence that the crime scene was staged or altered;
Police intimidated by the dominating presence of Muslims involved in the case;
Lots of deceit and explanations that don’t match the evidence;

One big difference is that in Florida the death was called an accident, while in California the death was called an anti-Muslim hate crime.

No one was ever arrested for the murder of Fatima Abdallah. Let's hope the El Cajon police feel a greater responsibility for American justice, not Islamic justice.

Really? Thats interesting becasue when there were no facts just a reference to a hand written NOTE left at the scene. CAIR and every other Muslim seemed to jump on the "SHe was murdered for wearing her Hijab bandwagon". The arab press protrayed the greatest countgry and people in the world with the same brush they paint themselves.

But ow that actual evidence is coming out, I have noticed Muslism are all of a sudden saying "Lets reserve judgment". Amazing

Do you know what the travesty of this cae is aside from that fact that a woman was murdered?

Its how easy it was for Muslism to quickly point the finger at Islamaphobes and the media lapped it up. Not on that but that whole Iraqi comunity was terrorized becasue of this act. They lived in fear for a few weeks thinking there was a mad dog killer on the loose, killing woman who wear Hijabs.

But the ultimate most disgusting thing Muslims did was try to link this murder to the Trayvon case in Florida. Disgusting shameful well just disgusting.

That should always be the case. I don't see anyone here suggesting otherwise.

What we oppose to is for people, especially media, slanting it like they do so many issues today. Just look at the case with Trayvon Martin. How long did it take for us to see the very bigoted, hate-filled, racist, and moronic people like Al Sharpton to prejudge both Trayvon and George Zimmerman. Do we see the media taking corrective stances to present the facts that are known and try to be objective? No! We see a one-sided condemnatory response before the facts are disseminated. Making hasty judgments only help the agenda of those who make the news.

I would also agree with you. People do initially react differently. Some don't show strong reactions until years later. I guess that the caution we should take is not to also try to misjudge what may be a cover-up on the part of the daughter. It could actually be a cover-up. It is also possible that she knows something about the murder but is still emotional about her mom's death. There is room for both possibilities to be accurate.

Many people make the case that shia is more civilized. But these beasts are all the same. Islam is islam.

The ard'al sharaf has been broken therefore the muslimah must be killed.

The police should be able to study the video in the area of her sunglasses, which are partly transparent anyway. If there are no tears coming out of her eyes and no wetness on any part of her face below her eyes, that might show she was faking the crying. Medical experts on tears would best be able to weigh the possible significance of dry eyes while apparently crying. She was also wiping her nose. Again, technical and medical experts should be able to study the video to determine if there are any real signs of the nasal discharge typical of people crying. Is the girl wiping away anything real from her nose? Is the tissue she is handling behaving like a tissue that has absorbed moisture? (At first glance, I would say, no. The tissue appears to retain a certain airy lightness, a bit of elasticity in reaction to the air, and lack of any sogginess.) The absence of any real nasal discharge might be especially significant. Why? Because she kept wiping her nose. If there was nothing to wipe, but she kept wiping, wouldn't that strongly suggest an attempt to simulate crying?

I agree that she looks kind of like a bad actress pretending to cry. That of course doesn't prove she did the crime or knows who did it. People can appear fake for all sorts of reasons. So she might be involved, or might not.

That said, her response seemed a little oddly speechifying for someone whose mother just had her head staved in with a tire iron. At one point the girl whimpers into the camera, as if she is addressing her mother's killer, that "you are not Christian, you are not Muslim, and you are not Jewish," which struck me as a contrived and perhaps manipulative thing to say. Does she think those watching her are playing a guessing game as to who did it, and that she can give us suggestions to influence us in the direction she wants? Or at any rate direct us away from the Muslim relatives who perhaps did it? If she in fact knew who did it, and it was one of her relatives, and she wanted to reinforce the message of the note that a non-Muslim (i.e., not her relative) did the crime; and if she wanted also to exonerate Christians and Jews since she is in a Christian and Jewish society and perhaps is afraid of the possibility that that society might indict and prosecute her and others in her family, then might she not say that neither Christian nor Muslim nor Jew did it? That would reinforce the message of the killer's note, without pissing off the society around her. And wouldn't she say it exactly as she said it, that is, as though she were talking only to the killer, when in fact she is trying to manipulate public opinion? Perhaps what is most notable about her statement -- it subtly reinforces the message of the note left by the killer. In that, she may have inadvertently revealed herself.

As for the photocopied note, that obviously means whoever did it planned this at least from the point at which the photocopy was made. Why did they photocopy a handwritten note? Did they think the photocopy would be less traceable?

Well listen to what she says after words. She says " You are someone without a religion. Because if you know God, You would know God would not accept that." Clearly she is saying that someone who believes in God would not commit such a terrible act of murder, and believe they can get away with it in the sight of God. Now clearly that is flawed as muslims, christians, and Jews do commit terrible crimes. But again you are reading too much into her comment as she explains it a sentence or two later.

But Radical moderate, just because certain muslims acted in that manner does not mean that I acted in that manner. I haven't jumped to any conclusions in this case at any point, and I'm waiting to see how the case goes. There is not enough evidence as of yet to show what exactly happened, therefore there is no need to jump to conclusions. That was my point. Thanks.

Mr Wood,

I would like to link to you a story that aired on the Abc Tv program Four Corners. The Topic Being: Without Consent
By Sarah Ferguson and Deb Masters

http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/stories/2012/03/29/3466537.htm

What happens when young, educated, Australian-born girls are forced into unwanted marriages - often with relatives overseas?

Samia was just seventeen when her father announced he was taking her on a holiday overseas. But this was a holiday with a difference. Back in the family's village in rural Pakistan, Samia watched in horror as the local Imam walked in ready to conduct her marriage to her first cousin - without her consent. With pressure from her extended family, she was given papers to sign and threatened.

Returning to Australia, Samia sought help from local religious authorities in Sydney - but they ignored her and told her to accept the marriage.

For the first time young women, the victims of forced marriages, are speaking out - without disguise and despite the risks of backlash from their communities. Are these women entitled to the same protection as other Australian girls?

The Government thinks so; in fact they are so concerned they are introducing criminal legislation to ban forced marriage. However, outspoken members of Australian migrant communities say it is their responsibility to stop the practice and the men who enforce it.

It's not only women who experience force or coercion to push them into marriage. It happens to men too, often with disastrous consequences. Reporter Sarah Ferguson tells the story of one young woman who agrees to marry a man chosen by her family. What she doesn't know until after the marriage is that he married her under duress. The relationship then descends into a spiral of alcohol and violence.

I think this is extremely relevent to the issue of Islam, honour killings or apostacy from islam, and arranged forced slavery marriages.

Perhaps you could do an article and link the footage on your blog.

Bull****. They're not coming back. The police should have never released this information until the husband was back in the states and arrested.

I'm worried for the 17 year old...caught having sex with some stranger, being forced to marry a cousin and oh yeah, she probably didn't just walk in on her mother's body. She probably saw the whole thing.

We are finding out why the court documents where leaked when the family is out of the Country.

"The documents were inadvertently released Wednesday when court staff misinterpreted which documents were to be sealed, said Karen Dalton, spokeswoman for the state Superior Court."

I wonder who the court staff are?
I wonder if this was in fact away to warn the Family to not return the states and stay in Iraq?

Bigotry is the main thing which enhance these types of things. In Shaima's case there was enough documents in police records for the investigation. Police has California public records which helps them to find the better solution.
