Robert Muise and David Yerushalmi Form the American Freedom Law Center

I can debate, make videos, and write articles all day long. But when police throw me in jail and seize my camera, my hands are tied. That's where lawyers come in.

Whether you know it or not, if you live in the U.S., Robert Muise and David Yerushalmi have been defending your rights for years. They're the lawyers representing us (pro bono) against the City of Dearborn. They've also represented Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller. As various government officials do their best to take away the rights our forefathers fought and died to give us, Muise and Yerushalmi stand on the front lines on behalf of freedom, America, and the Constitution.

This is why the following news is so exciting.

AFLC--Having collaborated for over four years on many high-profile cases, attorneys David Yerushalmi and Robert J. Muise have decided to formalize their working relationship by together launching the American Freedom Law Center (AFLC). Yerushalmi, an orthodox Jew, and Muise, an orthodox Catholic, describe AFLC as the Nation’s first truly authentic Judeo-Christian, public interest law firm.

According to Yerushalmi and Muise, they formed AFLC because they share the firm conviction that the strength of our Nation lies in its commitment to a Judeo-Christian heritage and moral foundation and to an enduring faith and trust in God and His Providence. This intersection between our Judeo-Christian values and the preservation and security of our Nation has garnered the interest and support from several prominent leaders, including former CIA Director R. James Woolsey; former Assistant Secretary of Defense under President Ronald Reagan and current President of the Center for Security Policy Frank Gaffney; Notre Dame law professor Charles Rice; former Inspector General for the Department of Defense Joseph Schmitz; and former Assistant U.S. Attorney and current contributing editor to National Review Andy McCarthy, all of whom will be serving on the AFLC advisory board.

Through AFLC, Yerushalmi and Muise seek a return to what they describe as “America’s founding commitment to receive God’s continued blessing for America.” Yerushalmi commented, “AFLC will fight for faith and freedom by advancing and defending America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and moral foundation through litigation, education, and public policy programs. Fighting for our Judeo-Christian values is more than simply defending religious liberty; it is fighting for the very survival of our Nation.” He added, “Throughout history, great nations have fallen from within. Make no mistake, America is a blessed Nation, but only so long as it remains faithful to the Judeo-Christian values upon which it was founded.”

Yerushalmi and Muise have pledged to aggressively fight those who seek to undermine and destroy our Nation’s founding principles. They view secular progressives and organizations such as the ACLU and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as domestic enemies to the Judeo-Christian values reflected in our Constitution and Declaration of Independence. They vow to fight the “civilization jihad” being waged by the Muslim Brotherhood and other sharia-driven Muslims operating within the United States, including CAIR.

What is AFLC? It is first and foremost a public interest litigation firm. Muise explained the pressing need for an organization like AFLC: “To great effect, elite secular progressives are systematically assailing and destroying our Nation’s moral foundation. Driven by a transnational world view that is hostile to our Nation’s Judeo-Christian values, progressives are zealously sweeping religion from the public square, foisting sharia law and other harmful international precedents into our courts and Constitution, assaulting the traditional family, and weakening our national defense by — among other things — undermining the strength of our military through social engineering and political correctness. Our traditional liberties hang in balance. And for good or ill, this battle for America’s soul is being waged in the courtrooms across America.” (Read more.)

Ugh, this doesn't sound good. What exactly do they mean by "advancing and defending America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and moral foundation" and "fighting for our Judeo-Christian values"? That sounds like far-right Judeo-Christian supremacist language.

And I think they're going a bit far by saying that C.A.I.R. is fighting some sort of "civilization jihad." The organization is a bit annoying in that it exaggerates the "plight" of Muslims in the United States, but they can hardly be said to be seeking to "undermine and destroy our nation’s founding principles."

Their objections against "progressives" are unfounded. "Zealously sweeping religion from the public square, foisting sharia law and other harmful international precedents into our courts and Constitution, assaulting the traditional family"? Yeah, liberals and progressives may whine about Tebow and other trivial things, but there isn't much of a basis to say they're actually trying to get rid of public religion. If they're talking about disputes over Christmas trees and Nativity scenes in government buildings and such, it's really all about making sure such displays do not give the average passersby the impression that public officials are promoting a particular religion. Pew Forum has a great article overviewing certain incidents and the issues at hand, and the evidence makes it abundantly clear that in most cases, concern over public religious displays aren't about "sweeping religion from the public square."

What do they mean by "foisting sharia law"? There is no Sharia in the United States. If they're talking about such incidents as the recent blocking of the Oklahoma Sharia ban, that's hardly anything to get worked up about. Though I don't want Sharia in America, either, the ban was not justified in the first place; there had been no incidents of Sharia being used in Oklahoma courts, and the ban was simply paranoid in nature. (C.A.I.R. would probably call it bigoted, but I don't think that's fair--do they expect Americans not to be afraid of Islam as lone-wolf Muslim terrorists keep cropping up every once in a while? The ban was a result of fear.)

"Assaulting the traditional family." They obviously mean progressives who want same-sex marriage legalized, which is contrary to Judeo-Christian morality. In my opinion, trying to keep gay marriage illegal is making laws based on religion, since the only argument that can be offered against homosexuality is "the Bible condemns homosexual activity." So really, what Muise and Yerushalmi want to do is continue this Judeo-Christian "Sharia." That is not a good idea.

David, you seem to think what happened to you and your friends in Dearborn happens regularly, and I can hardly blame you, considering your free speech has been blocked two different times. But it really isn't a large-scale, national phenomenon in which Christians are denied their rights. You and Robert Spencer and Robert Muise and David Yerushalmi need to calm down a bit--there is nothing happening on the scale you guys are envisioning.

Wow. Quite possibly your worst comment ever GAP (and that's saying quite a bit).

CAIR is a Muslim Brotherhood front group (one of the stated goals of the MB is to "destroy Western civilization from within"). CAIR has been declared (by the U.S. government) to be unindicted co-conspirators in a terrorism funding plot. CAIR founder Omar Ahmad said that "Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant” (but later denied it when he was exposed). The book "Muslim Mafia" details numerous instances where CAIR members and officials took part in or supported terrorist activities. And your only problem with them is that "the organization is a bit annoying"? Wow.

And it seems you have a problem with Judeo-Christian values (e.g. "Love your neighbor as yourself"). So tell me, GAP, where do you think Americans initially got their values from (say, around the time they were writing the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, etc.)? When Jefferson said that "All men are created equal" and are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights," where did these ideas ultimately come from?

I'll make it easier for you. Go ahead and defend one simple claim for us, in a purely secular manner. "All men are created equal." Some men are born stronger than others. Some men are born richer than others. Some men are born smarter than others. So what sense does it make (on purely secular grounds) to say that "all men are created equal"? In what way are they equal?

Hmmm. How many civil rights violations would be necessary before you think action should be taken? I would say "one." Apparently, you think there should be at least thousands.

Now for the facts. Security and police were harassing Christians in Dearborn like it was an Olympic sport. I know of tons of instances. We're just the ones who brought cameras. Keep in mind, this is the same city that threw Terry Jones in jail for planning a protest. This is the same city where police help cover up honor killings. But it's no big deal, according to GAP.

David is correct. Your relativism knows no bounds. Especially in light of the previous article below Which states, Nine out of Ten of the worst places Christians are persecuted are Islamic countries!" The willful ignorance of some people is just amazing.

"there had been no incidents of Sharia being used in Oklahoma courts"

Why would it have to happen specifically in Oklahoma before it would be justified for people to be worried that it could happen in Oklahoma? For example, there was a case in New Jersey where a judge declined to grant a restraining order for a muslim man who had raped his wife because he had acted in accordance with his islamic beliefs. (This got overturned later, but that hardly shows that there's no problem with it.)

Is Islam a threat to civilisation, like the Nazis, or are some people just getting their nickers in a twist? Greek you're on the side that thinks it's all a storm in a teacup, The problem is like many people you suffer from the quite natural delusion where you think things will stay much the same; if you don't see a woman being stoned to death for adultery in your town square today that means it won't happen there tomorrow. I'm afraid to tell you that many people who fell for that delusion have ended paying for it with their lives. Freedom is like life - you only have to lose it once and your dead - maybe that's not a perfect analogy but it's close. Would W Europe have been able to free themselves from the Nazis were it not for American blood? Would E Europe but for American power? "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance"TJ. Look around the world and then tell me you don't face a threat to our civilisation from Islam.

PS I'm English so it hurts me to say nice things about the Americans (upstarts!).

Well, I didn't know some C.A.I.R. members had links to terrorism, so I guess I was mistaken in saying the organization was just annoying. But regarding Sharia: can you actually recount any incidents when they actually tried to introduce Sharia law into America? They may have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, which obviously advocates Sharia law, but C.A.I.R. itself has never tried to introduce it.

"And it seems you have a problem with Judeo-Christian values (e.g. 'Love your neighbor as yourself'). I don't take issue at the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, nor do I have problems with Judeo-Christian values. (If I did, I wouldn't be a Christian.) But Muise and Yerushalmi are not just concerned about the Constitution when they say they want to defend Judeo-Christian values. They also think "progressive" actions like what they interpret as "sweeping religion from the public square, foisting sharia law and other harmful international precedents into our courts and Constitution, assaulting the traditional family" are an assault on Judeo-Christian values, even though, as I've already shown, they are actually attempts to make sure all religions are equal in the United States. Muise and Yerushalmi's seeming support of placing Jewish and Christian religion above all other religions is what the problem is.

"Hmmm. How many civil rights violations would be necessary before you think action should be taken? I would say 'one.' Apparently, you think there should be at least thousands."

I didn't say you shouldn't take action against incidents like what happened in Dearborn. But the fact that Muise and Yerushalmi are making an entire law center to combat things like that implies they think it happens all the time, and you seem to think so, too.

"Now for the facts. Security and police were harassing Christians in Dearborn like it was an Olympic sport. I know of tons of instances. We're just the ones who brought cameras. Keep in mind, this is the same city that threw Terry Jones in jail for planning a protest. This is the same city where police help cover up honor killings. But it's no big deal, according to GAP."

Then maybe just Dearborn has a problem, not the rest of the country.

Again why does something have to occur or pass before it becomes a Problem. We see it all around the world where Muslims begin to populate. And it is happening here. What is your problem with them being prepared to defend our constitutional liberties and fundamental rights?

There are groups and individuals that are attempting to manipulate our courts and implement sharia. Why are you in complete and total denial of this reality? This is what we speak of when we say willful ignorance.

" They also think "progressive" actions like what they interpret as "sweeping religion from the public square, foisting sharia law and other harmful international precedents into our courts and Constitution, assaulting the traditional family" are an assault on Judeo-Christian values, even though, as I've already shown, they are actually attempts to make sure all religions are equal in the United States."

What part of these things that you listed are not traditional Judea Christian values? Also not all religions are equal. Thats called relativism.

Do you also think that all cultrues are equal? How about a culture that practices cannabalism or human sacrifice. Should those be protected as well.

Islams Ideology is fascist and bigoted toward non Muslims. They even admit that their Jizya is a seperate extortion tax only for non Muslims. And that the Zakat cannot be used for the poor non MUslim. Your a simple minded relativist. Who cannot differentiate between right and wrong because they come from somewhere else. So everything is legitimate. Hey lets regard a religion that says marrying children is ok. Or a religion that states to fight all non members until they are subjugated, enslaved or dead!

Are those religions or cultures equal to Judea Christian values? I think not!

I think we should embrace head hunters. YEAH!

The value of humans, rather sub humans, according to sharia.

In Saudi Arabia, when a person has been killed or caused to die by another, the prescribed blood money rates are as follows
• 100,000 riyals if the victim is a Muslim man
• 50,000 riyals if a Muslim woman
• 50,000 riyals if a Christian or Jewish man
• 25,000 riyals if a Christian or Jewish woman
• 6,666 riyals if a man of any other religion
• 3,333 riyals if a woman of any other religion
Source: Wikipedia

So the value of a Buddhist woman is about 3% of a Muslim man according to Sharia; and the Muslims are crying and bellyaching about discrimination!

[sarc on] David, I just want you to know how important it is to me that you didn't include a humorous video in this post to illustrate a point. I would have been really disappointed in you.[sarc off]

The Only Living God still answers prayer. I think we have our Davids (Wood & Yerushalmi), our Roberts (Spencer & Muise) and our precious Pamela (Geller) precisely because our Beloved Lord hears our prayers.

My response to the formation of the American Freedom Law Center? "Don't Stop Praying!"

Pray for your community of faith - without ceasing.

Pray for "Answering Muslims" (and ABN) without ceasing.

Pray for the AFLC without ceasing.

Pray for our "tinkling" troops without ceasing.

Pray for David, Robert & Pamela without ceasing.

Pray for our feckless Congress without ceasing.

Pray for our hopeless President without ceasing.

Pray for our puppet court Justices (jesters) without ceasing.

Give thanks, honor and PRAISE but PRAY without ceasing.

No, I don't know how prayer works but some say that our own spirits opened to Heaven in prayer creates a pathway for the healing work of The Holy Spirit to move and cleanse and strengthen (see II Chronicles 7:13, 14).

Do we deserve the goodness that our Heavenly Father showers on us through prayer? Nope, don't think so but PRAY without ceasing.

So, the advent of the AFLC (along with the whole "no-Sharia/counter-jihad" movement, including this and many other wonderful blogs) are - I believe - an answer to the prayers of MANY righteous people. Am I righteous? Not by a long-shot (and certainly not righteous enough to be pointing the finger at David for including Cheech & Chong videos)[LOL!] but that does not mean that I'm gonna stop filling Heaven with my adoration, confession, thanksgiving, intercession and supplication.

So, THANK HEAVEN for AFLC & for Answering Muslims & for ABN & for all of the commentors here (including GAP and Abdullah Armadilla). AND PRAY without ceasing!

KAFIR & GRATEFUL TO GOD IN JESUS CHRIST
