I'm sure he would destroy the Qur'an. But honestly David, what more could he say than what you and Sam have said? You guys have already destroyed the Qur'an. Absolutely obliterated it beyond recognition.
Here is the dilemma. I think ultimately Erhman could do work on the Quran, but at what cost, at what expense? The expense wouldn't be *his life*, it would be the same expense and confinement, restriction and isolation experienced by the likes of Spencer and Rushdie.
I think Ehrman, being an atheist,he said so in an interview, just wants to live as long as he can.
He said he is working on a new book about that Jesus really existed.Hmmm,interesting.
Robert price,Earl Doherty and Richard Carrier will be against him.
If they were to show that the Shroud of Turin is really 2,OOO years old then I think the "Jesus never existed" idea would be smashed. There are technical reasons.

Ehrman's silence(cowardice)on the Quran is fodder for Muslim apologists, who quote Ehrman to discredit Christianity, as though he were either some Scholar of Islam, or that his silence on the Quran proves that there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

January was an assassination anniversary for Hrant Dink ...
Dink was prosecuted three times for denigrating Turkishness, while receiving numerous death threats from Turkish nationalists(Muslims)

One of the three classic videos its evergreen. I love it.
I'd love for Bart Ehrman to provide his critical analytical expertise on the Quran...
Then I know Muslims will stop quoting him from then onwards.

That would be nice.

Derek (aka DK),
What is your suggestion, then? Do you think Ehrman should ignore the Qur'an? Or do you think he should throw away his "life"?
