Two U.S. Muslim Women Convicted of Funding Terrorist Group

Isn't it odd that so many Muslims, from such diverse backgrounds, from so many different countries, all manage to misunderstand Islam in exactly the same way, concluding that it promotes violent jihad against non-Muslims?

MINNEAPOLIS–Two Minnesota women were convicted Thursday of conspiring to funnel money to a terrorist group in Somalia as part of what prosecutors called a "deadly pipeline" sending money and fighters from the U.S. to al-Shabab.

The jury deliberated about 20 hours since getting the case at the end of the day Monday.

Amina Farah Ali, 35, and Hawo Mohamed Hassan, 64, were each charged in federal court with conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Ali also faced 12 counts of providing such support, for allegedly sending more than $8,600 to the group from September 2008 through July 2009, while Hassan faced two counts of lying to the FBI.

Both were found guilty on all counts. (Read more.)

Isn't it odd how they are a few people compared to the population?

Why should this surprise any of us who study Islam and try to see it as it really is.

Muslims, as a group, are not to be trusted. That is a sad thing though. Although I like to judge people on a case-by-case basis, I don't feel that confident when it come to Muslims because I feel in the back of their minds, they will support Islam at any cost when push comes to shove. Plus, it's difficult to know which ones are really practicing and which ones are just pretending to for the sake of not being intimidated by other Muslims. I would be less pessimistic about Muslims if it weren't for the Qu'ran and hadiths that encourage Muslims to create an us vs. them mentality and try to dominate with their religion. Mohammad's last 10 years of his presumed prophethood is the final dagger that kills my confidence.

Kim: Isn't also odd that that "small percentage" of people compulsed to slay and subjugate unbelievers is not found in any other religion?

@Kim you are truly a godsent ^^
Not many open up scriptures before you started, and look what it turns now:P.

back to the entry:

Islam:
1. as a religion who believe in God, I'm okay with that.
2. as a religion that turns people towards better enlightenment, I'm still okay with that.
3. as a religion that supports the destruction of others, intolerant of others faith, and did I not mention plagiarism? NOT OKAY.

You can look at a tree and see what the fruit it bores. Islam is a religion that identifies itself with conflicts from the beginning of Muhammad rightly TO the last day.

If you want to re-debate all over again, that islam is a religion of peace, LMAO.
Not gonna happen folks, too many "fight" and "fight".
a. Even if they run out of non-muslims,
b. they still have muslims with different views to fight for.
c. And next they gonna fight their own neighbours, and when they run out of that,
d. they will fight their own family.

This is vietcong mentality! Deny everything against you, Confirm everything against the enemy.

It is funny, because christians always bring up that islam and Muhammad(pbuh) commands muslims to fight unbelievers for no valid reason. I am willing to agree that islam allows killing of people who are muslims for no VALID reason, IF christians can show just one non-muslim in HISTORY that the prophet Muhammad(pbuh)ordered the killing of for no GOOD reason. After all, if that is what the prophet was trying to convey, then surely it would not be too hard to find it. And quote AUTHENTIC HADITH. This challenge is for anyone. I will be waiting.

authentic hadith? well, let's look at the first of the 6th cannonical hadith of sunni muslims

The Prophet recited Suratan-Najm (103) at Mecca and prostrated while reciting it and those who were with him did the same except an old man who took a handful of small stones or earth and lifted it to his forehead and said, "This is sufficient for me." Later on, I saw him killed as a non-believer. (Bukhari 19:173)

but I believe somehow muslims will deny hadiths and go directly for Quran.
Verse 8:67 of the Qur’an was “revealed” in the aftermath of Badr and says “It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land.”

Maybe we should educate Muslim women that there are no Hooris for them in paradise and life is no better. At best they will get 72 raisins, according to Irshad Manji.
