500,000 Muslims Praying in the Streets of Moscow

And people are worried about a few hundred Muslims blocking streets in Paris?

There are only four official mosques in Moscow, so this is hardly unexpected.

Hardly unexpected? Half a million? I just went to a Muslim parade in NYC. It was a few hundred people. If half a million in Moscow isn't surprising, what would surprise you? Ten trillion?

Well, there are tons of Muslims in Moscow. Moscow would require around a hundred mosques for all of its Muslims, and the members of the Orthodox Church aren't really helping if they don't want giant crowds in the middle of the streets, considering that they vigorously petition against the building of mosques (at least in Moscow; I'm not sure about the rest of Russia). Russia is probably the worst in Europe when it comes to religious freedom.

Panda says "The poor Muslims simply dont have a mosque to go to. Lets build more mosques for the poor Muslims and we wont "see" as many"

Yeah, I'm sure Russia can give Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan a run for their money, eh? While Russia's track record is far from stellar, they are still making huge concessions by letting the Muslims get away with blaring prayers on the streets with loudspeakers and blocking traffic.

I am wondering how recently that many Muslims came to live in Moscow, why they are there, and how to get them to go back where they came from.

Deare GreekAsianPanda, or maybee MuslimEuropeanDragon, muslims do not nede too pray inn mosques... they,a ccording to islamic key sources, can praie anywhere and do noot need to do so in commun... if they wante a mosque, please do like anyone else: buy a ground, ask for permision to build a mosque and there you have... this is publice disorder (ok, ok... I grant you we all know muslims do nott respect non-islamic order) and an intimidation actitude to force the authorities to grantte them what, bie law, they're not intiteled too...

What is the purpose of posting videos like these? I suppose that it's meant to show us Islam is spreading even thought you hate it and that peaceful Americans should stop it from happening. But the best thing a hate mongerer can do is hate monger and cry of jealousy and hate. Or try to stop it with lies? lol.

KIM- What is the purpose in trolling a blog? I suppose it's just to be condescending, patronizing, confrontational and combative(?) Is it merely to say things just to push people's buttons? Just to get a negative response? Because that's legitimate debate! Fighting fire with fire always works, doesn't it? LOL

If you want to be a "voice of reason" here then why don't you present the forum with reasons why it is OK for all those muslims to block the streets of a major city that is in a non-muslim majority country and thus prevent commerce and travel? Did they get a permit to do so or not? What's the back story? Back it up with research.

See Kim you could have found articles like this about RUSSIA instead of yelling "American Hatemongers"

Margarita Khetvani, who circulated a petition against the mosque, says she has Muslim neighbors who also oppose it. They don't want the traffic. They don't want the noise.

"My son will have to listen to their shouts," she said, walking along the grass earlier this week and describing the call from minarets. "They'll be killing sheep here."

(if you don't like her "sheep killing comment... ok but then what does the imam have to say?)

"The photos of some many Muslims made the imam uneasy, too.

"Such a crowd is not manageable," says Alyautdinov, a soft-spoken 32-year-old Tatar and native of Moscow. "We want this load off our shoulders."

Many of the new immigrants are rural folk, he says. "We have lots and lots of people coming from a different world," he says. "We have to support them spiritually. We have to teach them, or we will lose them." "

or this

“The Moscow authorities have only allowed the construction of four mosques, so most people go to informal ones,” said Paul Goble, an expert on Islam in Russia and a research associate at the University of Tartu in Estonia. “The problem of course is that many of those informal mosques are both more specifically ethnic and also often more radical.”
At present there is only one mosque for every 500,000 Muslims in the Russian capital, which harbors roughly 2 to 2.5 million Muslims – the most of any European city. “Muslims have long pressed for the opening of more mosques in Moscow, but will turn to underground ones,” Goble writes in his blog."

There is an unnerving, demonic quality about the way this crowd is gathered and chanting.

Russia is a huge country. 4 Mosques isn't going to fit everybody. What in the world do you expect? Eid is a big very important celebration.

Kim - so Americans are "hate mongers" for posting the video here and the Russians are "hate mongers" for taking the video in the first place and only letting the Muslims build 4 mosques in the entire city of Moscow... in essence, forcing the poor Muslims to block all the streets and prevent commerce and travel from happening in a major city so they can pray. I just want to make sure I got this right. I still haven't worked out the "jealousy" part though...
