Ethiopia: Muslim Mob Attacks Christians Distributing Bibles

Ethiopia (MNN) ― A mob of Muslim extremists overpowered police to get to Christians sharing the Gospel.

Voice of the Martyrs, Canada recently reported that 17 students were on a short-term mission trip at the tail end of February in Oma village, Ethiopia. The students, from Meda Welabu University, went to the Muslim village distributing Bibles and striking up conversations with villagers.

As students were handing out Gospels and talking to Muslims, one of the villagers began to argue with the believers. His rage became so overwhelming that a mob began to attack the young students.

The mob of Muslim extremists began shouting "Allah Akbar," which means in English, "Allah is greater." They beat the students with rods and threw stones at them. Government militia attempted to protect the students but were overpowered by the mob.

The mob attempted to set the Christians' car on fire, but failed, and the students were able to get away. (Source)

2 things:

1. I thank Our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, that our Christian brethren had the boldness to witness to these Muslims.

2. I also thank Him for keeping them from death.

Also people have no clue that "Allahu Akbar" is proof that the Muslim god was worshipped prior to the rise of Islam. In context, Allahu Akbar means "Allah is greater that rest of the gods that we worship." Allah was a god worshiped by the Quraysh tribe (Muhammad's tribe).

In fact, Allah was the greatest of the 360 gods and goddesess in Quraysh tribe. Allah was the equivalent to Zeus in the eyes of the Quraysh. They purpose of worshipping the other gods was to bring them closer to Allah.

I'm sure at the press conference, someone will say, "Christians! Don't you know we were just joshin' with y'all? C'mon, all together now: Allahu Akbar! It's fun!"
