Nineteen-Year-Old Ali Saad of Dearborn, Michigan, Charged with Threatening Columbine-Style School Shooting at Wayne State

I can't assume that Dearborn's Ali Saad is a Muslim, because Islam is a religion of peace and there's no reason for a Muslim to engage in terrorism. Oh, wait a minute. Where did I put that Qur'an?

Qur’an 9:29—Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Qur’an 9:73—O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.

Qur’an 9:111—Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah's way, so they slay and are slain; a promise which is binding on Him in the Taurat and the Injeel and the Quran; and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Rejoice therefore in the pledge which you have made; and that is the mighty achievement.

Qur’an 9:123—O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).

Qur’an 47:35—Be not weary and fainthearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost: for Allah is with you, and will never put you in loss for your (good) deeds.

Qur’an 48:29—Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves.

Hmmm. After checking his court documents, it seems that Saad is from a Shia neighborhood. That's strange. I wonder if he was locked up with attempted mosque-bomber Roger Stockham.

DETROIT — A Dearborn man was arrested Friday for allegedly threatening to carry out a Columbine-style attack at Wayne State University.

Ali Saad, 19, was charged in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan with one count of engaging in conduct with the intent to convey false information where such information may be reasonably believed and where such information indicates that an activity will take place in violation of U.S. firearm laws and an additional count of possessing child pornography.

According to an affidavit by FBI Special Agent Christopher Pennisi, Saad made several threats on an Internet chat forum in November indicating he would shoot up a lecture class with more than 500 students.

Next to a picture of Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, the Columbine shooters, Saad posted a message that said “An hero now? Or shoot up Wayne State University where I go to school and then an hero?” according to the affidavit.

"An hero" is an esoteric term that means to commit suicide, Special Agent Pannisi noted.

In another post, the affidavit said, Saad outlined his specific plans.

“I think I know exactly what I’m going to do,” Saad wrote. “Going to Gen Lectures Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. Setting up a laptop in back with webcam on at (a Web-based video hosting site). 10:30 a.m. class starts. 10:45 a.m., turn on laptop to face 500+ students, pull out ak47 I got from gun show and unleash mayhem. Def going to beat Cho. Thanks for help. Be sure to tune in.”

“Cho” is a reference to Seung-Hui Cho, the gunman who killed 32 people and wounded 25 others in a shooting spree at Virginia Tech University in 2007.

The comments were reported to authorities shortly after they were posted and the IP address was traced to Saad’s Neckel Street residence. A search warrant was subsequently executed.

Agents didn’t locate any guns then and Saad said he was not was not serious about carrying out an attack. He said he wrote about the plans in such detail to make it appear more credible to people on the Website, the affidavit said.

The FBI conducted a forensic examination of Saad’s computer and found he had researched mass shooting incidents in the U.S., including school shootings. According to the affidavit, the examination also turned up several images of prepubescent boys and girls engaged in sexual acts with adults. (Source)

Shockingly, after being charged with threatening to kill numerous students, and after police found child pornography in his home, Saad was released. (Apparently, it would be racist and Islamophobic to object to terrorism or child pornography.)

A Wayne State University student is charged with making false threats of violence against the school on the Internet.

The FBI says Ali Saad of Dearborn wrote in November that he was planning to take an AK-47 to the General Lectures building and kill more than the 32 people who died at Virginia Tech University in 2007.

The FBI says Saad pledged to set up a Web cam to record it on Dec. 1 and wrote, "Be sure to tune in." Nothing happened, and Saad told an agent that he didn't intend to attack anybody.

Saad appeared in federal court Friday and was released. He's also charged with possessing child pornography. A message seeking comment was left with his attorney Monday. (Source)

I wonder if Muslim organizations like CAIR and second-rate Muslim bloggers like Yahya Snow are going to blame Acts 17 for Saad's terrorist threats. At this point, nothing would surprise me (except, perhaps, a little honesty and integrity from CAIR and Yahya).

Why did you post this? The article doesn't say anything about Ali Saad having a religious motivation.

Horrible

Islam is not a religion of peace. Never was, is and will never ever be!

A muslim follower of Terrorist Prophet Muhammed named Jalil Abbas, who recently joined our group, has made an accusation that we at PYEM Ministry Inc. are spreading lies about Islam and misinterpreting his religion. We have decided to throw him a 20,000 USD challenge: Prove that 1) We are spreading lies about his religion and 2) The Islam of Muhammed is a religion of peace.

If he has the guts to accept our challenge and then can successfully prove us wrong using the Quran, official, certified and authentic Tafsirs of Quran (Exegesis) and the ahadith as their sources, we will close down the page, cease to continue our mission at PYEM Ministry Inc. and award him with 20,000 US Dollars

Most newspapers didn't report that Nidal Malik Hassan had a religious motive either. In fact, most of the mainstream media deny religious motivations for terrorist attacks, even when the terrorist are shouting their religious motivations from the rooftops.

Besides that, I didn't even say that he had a religious motive. I pointed out (a) that Islam commands him to fight and terrorize unbelievers, (b) that he comes from a Shia neighborhood, and (c) that he's threatening to terrorize unbelievers.

Could he be a devout convert to Buddhism that decided to threaten people? Of course. But if we're going with probabilities here, what would be the most obvious motivation?

GreekAsianWhatever....do you seriously believe that today's politically correct newspapers need to mention "islam", "muslims" etc in their content? I mean America now has turned into a nation whose president would go on TV and quote Surah 5:32 to prove how peaceful Islam is! (Although for obvious reasons he wouldn't conveniently read the entire verse and read the next verse where it says to chop off your enemies' hands and then crucify them lol)

We the people who have read the English translation of Quran, Tafsir and Hadith don't need some newspaper articles written by some politically correct dhimmi to understand the motives of muslims

BTW, You understand, don't you, that I'm making fun of all of the people who claimed that we were somehow responsible for the mosque bombing? When there's no connection whatsoever between Acts 17 and Roger Stockham, Muslims confidently proclaim that we're guilty. That is, there was enough evidence for Muslims to make an inference and an accusation, even though there was no evidence at all. And yet here we have a teenager with an Islamic name, from an Islamic neighborhood, in the city with the highest concentration of Muslims in the country, threatening to terrorize people (which Islam commands), and yet it would never, ever, ever be acceptable for me to infer that his threats had any religious motivation whatsoever, unless he starts yelling "Allahu Akbar" (and even then, the media would attribute his violence to his parents' divorce, or something along those lines).

There's something wrong going on here.

Since I live in this area, I'm a bit in shock that I have not heard of this. I listen to the news daily both tv and radio, get a week-end newspaper, and read national news on the internet. Apparently, it wasn't a big news story here. Wonder why?

Ali Saad is certainly a Nidal Hassan in the making. He is sporting a modified version of Islamic beard, appears to be calm and composed eerily similar to that of Nidal Hassan. When totally infected by the pervert and filthy Mohammed’s mental virus, most lose interest in present life, constantly dream about the after-life booty rewarded for violently taking care of infidels. The 72 virgins are more sumptuous and attractive compared to the meager numbers possible in present life. To make sure that there is no shortfall of virgins in numbers granted by Allah, they always aim to dispatch a large number of infidels. “…a lecture class with more than 500 students” must ensure dispatch of good numbers giving ecstatic pleasures to Allah. The chances of Ali Saad hitting the headlines are extremely high.

Ok, I am no lover of Islam, in fact I despise it, and am quick to say that any act of violence committed by Moslems is Jihad until proven otherwise. I don't think this is.

This guy said "an hero". "An hero" is an inside, running joke used amongst various internet websites like 4chan, 7chan, ED, etc. It's a joke; it's used by trolls. This guy was never intending to shoot up Wayne State (why would a Moslem shoot up Wayne State when Wayne State is heavily populated by Moslems?) He will probably get prosecuted for threats but I don't think he was serious, motivated by Islam, or that he should be in any trouble.

I have relatives in Michiganistan. I'm forever advising them to move, before they become victims of the Religion of Peace.

The child pornography charge against Mister Saad was dropped (and most people charged with possession of child pornography are not imprisoned before their court dates because the government recognizes that most of them are non-violent and non-predatory. They let the public continue to assume otherwise so they can look heroic and we'll continue to let them bully people around for looking at the wrong kind of pictures). The other charge against Mister Saad is being plead out because it was rather obvious to the prosecutors that it was an immature attempt at humor. So instead of letting him go when no one's rights were actually threatened, your government is still going to punish a man whose worst crime was a lack of good judgement. Mister Saad awoke to find shotguns pointed at his head, was taken into custody and questioned without being informed of his rights as protected and guaranteed under the United States Constitution, and despite the fact that the government freely admits that he never even opened the child pornography on his computer, the spectre of this charge will likely follow him around for the rest of his life.

Terrorists are bad news. I don't like them and hope my government will protect me from them. But when that same government uses terror and coercion to bully people to think and act as they want them to, we need to take a serious look at how much the terrorists are doing without even lifting a finger. Grow a pair, people; this man is not, nor was he ever an actual threat to anyone.

I don't get how the previous school shooting terrorists were never linked to terrorism, but the first moment an Arabic descent of Islam does a condemned act, his religion is mentioned.
Remember that when the Oklahoma bombers commuted that horrible act, they claimed it in the name of Christianity, but that was never mentioned, why?
Why do y'all have to hate on Islam, a religion y'all know nothing about, obviously, why?
Go educate yourselves please.
