An Atheist Responds to Zakir Naik

These videos show clips of Dr. Zakir Naik telling his Muslim audience how to silence atheists using the amazing scientific accuracy of the Qur'an.

Since it's only fair to give atheists a chance to respond, we should consider the counterpoints of an atheist.

If I recall correctly, Ali Sina wrote a review of Naik's debate with Campbell from a secular perspective and it was pretty exhaustive.

I think it was quite amusing when Naik argued that the Big Bang is in the Quran. You can find it on YouTube too.

I'm sorry, I did not mean "Big Bang", but "water cicle".

Someone went through all the Surah's and pointed out that the Quran doesn't say anything amazing.

Same with the Big bang, "cloving" haven and earth is in virtually every ancient book.

By the way, the "spread out heaven" is also in the Bible, numerous times.

Am I the only one who laughed when Naik admitted the Quran is geocentric?

Zakir Naik is becomming the new Ahmed Didthat as some muslims defend?

Well... one thong is for sure: he has a better taste fore fancie clothes...

For the rest one sentece resumes it all: «the geeks you dumb a**»... but the most extraordinary is that all the crownd are mesmerisedd bie such a mountain of ignorance...

hei: did you noticed the day ande the night don't mingle? It's mentioned in the qur'an which speeks of them like two diferent realities... whow... no one knew that until last year... amaizing miracle... for sure: the qur'an must have written bye a supremme and berie intelegent being: allah!!!

I am planning to post 20 or so videos on Youtube on the Qur'an and science. I guess I will do so later on in the year. I planned to do this one year ago, but I have to say I am glad I waited, a range of the so called predictions of modern science is quoted from ancient books in the writings of early church fathers. Obviously then these predictions are not so miracolous anyway.

Sounds cool, I hope you will post them here so I won't miss it.

Whatte about (eben if we christianes don't need such thing...) a small scieries on "Science and the Bible": the true scientific miracles thate prove that the Bible is God's word?

Juste some examples:

#1: Job 37:3: «His lightning is hurled across the heaven, it strikes to the extremities of earth»...

As you mighte know (and this was onlie discovered in the 1990's) the invisiblle cosmic radiatione is the cause for the ignition off lightening...

#2: 1Cor. 15:41: «the stars differ among themselves in splendour»...

Only very recently we bagan to know that there ain'te two stars that are the same...

#3: Job. 38:16: «Have you been right down to the springs of the sea?»

Onlie when men bagan to be habble to descend into the deepest seas tehre were found springs of sweet water in itt...

etc... etc... etc...

p.s.: I really hoppe Osama Abdulah will not see these examples... if he's a muslime, as he saide here publiquely, juste for the AMAZING SCIENTIFIC miracles in the qur'an, now he'll also have to be a Christian... double personality in the birthe? I hoppe not...

Fernando,

Here is a link on that issue someone sent me yesterday. I took a quick look. Some of these are more convincing than others. Might interest a few people I thought.

http://www.inplainsite.org/html
/scientific_facts_in_the_bible.html

Now this second link I found to be fascinating. It is Zakir Naik fielding an audience question about terrorists acting in the name of Islam, but making the religion look bad. You gotta see it! You get to hear Naik's perspective on the Taliban and Osama bin Laden. The best part is, it was uploaded by a Muslim as an apparent DEFENSE of Naik.

"ISLAM AND SCIENCE"

QUR'AN does not try to prove itself
with the help of science. It explains to the world about the established facts in science which have been already mentioned in The Qur'an 14 hundred years ago.
For example The BIG BANG THEORY was a hypotheses years ago, even though it was mentioned in the Qur'an no one would be interested to know about it(expect for the Islamic scientists) SINCE IT WAS NOT AN ESTABLISHED FACT:<>"
THE QUR'AN DOES NOT REQUIRE SCIENCE TO PROVE ITS AUTHENTICITY

As you can see science has many a times taken a U turn and has come to the fact that Qur'an has mentioned it 14 hundred years ago..!
need proof why don't you search the web...about the contribution of Qur'an to science.

"Qur'an remains in its pristine form with out any alteration".

As you can see in many other religious books which have been edited through years even they have got their new & even newer versions too.

Please for give me if i hurt any ones feelings...

Doubts and misconceptions should be thrown away and knowledge is what you should search. Please feel free to place your question on the below link

Well you can laugh, but still there are too many accuracies in the Quran.
I'll be very happy to hear of any real plausible way that explains the creation of the universe without a god, Pr.Atkins of Oxford sure tried, but he ended up contradicting himself, then he tried the "luck" thing, but again , come on i am a scientist, i studied the theory of probabilities for years, and if we had a distinct universe for each slight change ,the odds won't be good for that probability , conclusion : if you don't believe in god , you should at least believe in your own science, don't buy the Quran, buy a book on probabilities, and then if you're interested, take a look at the Quran.

About the big bang theory

You say that spread out heaven is in the bible, the big bang theory , if you know anything about it at all is a documented fact that we can say for sure it happened ,of course as scientists we reserve at lease a 1% margin , but still 99% is good enough for me.
now the Quran doesn't say heaven spread out period, it says "Do those who are disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were sewn together and then We unstitched them and that We made from water every living thing? So will they not have faith? (Surat al-Anbiya': 30)"
read carefully and say it's wrong, if you dare say so ,then you're not a scientist, because what a scientist does is first observe.

And there is the embryology proof, try and deny that if you can.

On the other hand, can the Christians explain the flat earth for me, "don't bother with the circle verse because the earth isn't a disk circle & flat?")

I can show everyone that only the Holy Qur'an is the God's word and The Miracle of Miracles. Bible?? There are thousands of errors and lots of verses contain vulgar words in Bible. Plz visit this link and find the truth:

I've observed that its mostly, Muslims who fall for his trickery. This is why I believe, he never debates any reputable atheist or Christian scholar. Most Muslims who listen to him, listen in a frame of mind which "Wants to believe". Thus, there is no inquiry, no skepticism, but just Confirmation Bias. We look for things that confirms our beliefs and we ignore the things that don't. As hypocrucifier said, "That's human nature I suppose". In my view, Zakir naik is not educating Muslims nor defending Islam. He is just making sure the Muslims remain in darkness, and have pseudo logical and false evidence to support their absurd claims. After all, who wouldn't want to believe "Scientific Miracles" in Quran, right ? lol

I've written a reply to Dr. Zakir Naik in my blog as well. Clicking this link will easily allow you to read the article. http://www.the-antitheist.com/dr-zakir-naik/
