BBC Discussion on the Banning of Geert Wilders

In this short video, Jay Smith, Keith Vaz, and Maajid Nawaz discuss the banning of Geert Wilders from the UK. The Muslim in this video (Nawaz) is awesome! At first, I thought he might be complaining about the banning just for show, but as the discussion proceeded, it becomes clear that he is genuinely upset with the UK government for shutting down free speech. As he sees it, the government shut down not only Geert Wilders's right to express his views, but also the right of Muslims to refute Wilders in public debate. My man!

(Notice also Keith Vaz's pathetic response: "If you want to debate, then go to Holland.")

"Should Wilders Have Been Granted Entry to the UK?"

Nawaz wants to debate Wilders? lol.

Well if this was an Islamic State Wilders would be dead and Nawaz wouldn't be debating anyone. So i'm glad Nawaz is defending free speech contrary to the tenants of his religion.

Interesting Debate,

Although I find it Hypocritical that Maajid Nawaaz called for Qaradawi to be banned and for Wildes to be let into the Country.

Many Ignorant people might comment that Maajid Nawaaz is calling for something which wouldn't be allowed in an Islamic State, unfortunately there ignorance causes them to be oblivious to the fact that an Islamic State is not a Monolithic entity and has been subject to much interpretation and complexities. Perhaps they've never ever studied Islamic History and are unaware of the great debates held in the Abbasid "House of Wisdom" where Scholars of different world views were invited to hold debates. Nor are they familiar with the great exchanges between Scholars like al-Baqillani and al-Qirqasani (a Jew).

I wish such ignorance could be cured with knowledge and research.

My favorite moment of the vid is when Vaz said, "...no I haven't seen it [Fitna]".

Lol! What a clown. The clown of all clowns. He is supporting a policy decision based on a film he hasn't even seen yet.

This is what I don't get. The same countries that allow X-rated filth to be sold, won't allow other material simply because it puts Islam under the microscope.

Who cares if some radicals don't like it?! It's only going to get worse if we give in to these people who demand uber-rights for themselves while seeking to deny others of their basic rights.

This world is getting more and more crazy everyday, everyone can see the end of times are coming soon, and it will be a battle against muslims v christians. You can say anything about anyone or about anything here in england but when something is said about islam,it is banned!Soon england will be under sharia law if it carries on like this.In oxford street(Famous shopping street in london)at christmas these last few years the christmas lights have started to look pathetic, silly lights,no celebration, why because the government doesnt want to offend muslims!but the thing about this is muslims are not offended about christmas! They know its christmas, they expect there to be celebrations, but the amount of christmas displays that have been banned in england is so terrible, its getting to the point when christmas will soon be outlawed in england! Some people think im writing nonsense but this is the truth,i have lived in london all my life, and i have seen the decline more and more, the government does more for ramadan than it does for christmas, and this is supposidly a christian country.Soon they will see the results of this(well we already are seeing the consequences). And now you cant say the truth about islam!IN ENGLAND!remember we are not talking about saudi arabia here but england.Even when i was in istanbul last christmas, there seems to be more christmas celebrations there in a muslim country than here, what is going on?does turkey a near popullated 80-90percent muslim country grant more freedom than here,it is nearly getting this way.Our english government are such cowards, they dont know about islam, they still have the idea in their minds"its a peaceful religion"without even studying the religion they are guessing what the muslims are saying is right. They dont understand Taqiyya, jihad etc.Just they are listening to what they are told by fellow muslims in the government.England has opened its arms to the muslim world, and the muslim world will be its downfall.Every muslim who hates england who wants to see us under the flag of islam,STILL LIVES HERE,STILL CLAIMS BENEFITS,STILL GETS FREE HOUSING,STILL GETS FREE MEDICALS TREATMENT,DENTAL TREATMENT.While real people like me cant even get a house from the government, there is a 4-5 year waiting list for people like us,and im british born and raised here, paid my taxes since i started work.I cant believe what is going on this is the sign of what is to come.....

Intersting point, the word for punishment in turkish is CEZA which comes from the arabic term JIZYA,so the turks know this "poll tax" that the christians and jews need to pay,is a punishment!soon this will be enforced in england if it carries on the way it is going:
"Fight those who believe not in Allah and the Last Day and do not forbid what Allah and his messenger have forbidden - such men as practise not the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the book - until they pay the tribute out of hand and have been humbled (humiliated)."Surah al-Baqara 9:29

Yahya im half scottish aswell,my dad is from bridge of weir in glasgow, one thing i will say i respect scottish muslims who have grown up in scotland, they are just like normal scottish people, they have mixed with scottish people thats why. Here in england the muslim groups only stick with each other(turks with turks, pakistani's with pakistani's etc)but in scotland they are FORCED to mix in to survive,so they learn the scottish way of life, the accent etc,and in the villages in scotland everyone gets on,as they are not fanatics.

Quote the Islamic Madhab that allows the unbelievers to debate the intepretation of the Quran with the Muslims, oh wait, YOU CAN'T. The Psuedo-Intellectual tried to pull a fast one. Nice try. (;

DK

1) The Islamic State model proposed by Hizb ut Tahrir (A Shafi'i Jurist named Taqiuddin an-Nabhani).

2) The Islamic State under the Mu'tazilite Abbassid Caliphs allowed the House of Wisdom where this paradigm of debates originated in the Muslim World. This is even something which Jay Smith has conceded to in Several Debates, the Abbassids were generally Hanafi.

3) Imam Hassan al-Askari sending his student to debate with the Philosophers* on the Qur'an as recorded in Bihar al-Anwar would again allude to this, Imam Askari being one of the 12 Imams of the Jafar'i Madhab hence the Jafar'i Madhab allows this.

Dk, throw in some more ad hominem's in your responses.

*- Philosophers here refers to the Zindiqs who were primarily atheist and attempted to ridicule the Qur'an etc by challenging it.
