"Did Jesus' Earliest Followers Believe He Was God?" Jonathan McLatchie vs. Yusuf Ismail
Here is a recent debate that aired on Unbelievable? on Premier Christian Radio between myself and South African Muslim apologist Yusuf Ismail, on whether the Christology of the early church evolved over time (as Muslims frequently claim) or whether Jesus' earliest followers believed in His deity. The deity and eternal nature of Jesus and the incarnation of the eternal Son are presented long before the first century followers of the Messiah.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
I don't understand why we need to debate with Muslims so many times after these points - Quran 2: 77 - 97, Quran 29 : 46, Quran 3: 3 - 4, Quran 5 : 43 - 48 ( Christians and Jews should not turn to Mohammad and they should judge things acording to their scriptures ), 82, 83, Corán 21:48, Corán 40: 52,53, Corán 29: 52-54, Quran 2 : 121, Quran 2 : 146 and Quran 10 : 37 , 94 say that OLD TESTAMENT , NEW TESTAMENT and Quran are books of Allah.
And Quran 6 : 34, Quran 10 : 64, Quran 18 : 27 say that NOBODY can change Allah's words.

Hi Dave, I have been following Christian vs Muslim debates for 2 years now. I have a great respect for apologists on both sides. However, I have concern over Dr Zakir Naik's propaganda which has caused a major wave all over the world. He will be visiting Indonesia in April this year to continue his mission. In almost every seminar or conference, He challenged all Christians to show him that Jesus said I am God or I am the Son of God, if they can show him, he will accept Jesus as God and become Christian. This is unfair, it's like saying, show me the word "Tawhid" in Quran and I will become Muslim. During Q&A, he always succeed in crushing Christians who were of course not his worthy opponents. Some of them (though many Hindus) even accepted Islam. I know you, Sam and James openly challenge him, but no reponse. Would it be possible to openly challenge him during Q&A session of his seminar or conference? I am sorry to write this in a comment, I tried to search for your email but to no avail. Thanks.
