Islamic State Seizes Another Military Base in Iraq

ISIS continues to gain ground, despite airstrikes.

CNN—Despite airstrikes by the United States and its allies in Iraq over the weekend, reports suggest ISIS has continued to gain ground in Anbar province and has encircled Haditha, the province's last large town not yet under its control.

Provincial security force sources told CNN on Monday that Iraqi forces had abandoned a strategically important base in Anbar after heavy fighting with the militants.

The base outside Hit was one of the Shiite-led government's few remaining military outposts in Anbar, a predominantly Sunni province. It is a key control point for roads running through the region.

The Iraqi military still controls the Ayn al-Asad military base, which helps defend Iraq's second-largest dam and the provincial capital of Ramadi.

About 80% of Anbar is under ISIS control, according to Sabah Al-Karhout, president of the Anbar Provincial Council. The group's presence has been bolstered by as many as 10,000 fighters, dispatched from Syria and northern Iraq, the provincial council said. Anbar is about the size of North Dakota.

On Sunday, the leader of U.S. military efforts to fight ISIS in Iraq said the terror group came within 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) of Baghdad's airport. (Continue Reading.)

The air campaign currently being waged consists of a few teensy-weensy pokes at ISIS. It's a total joke.

I always thought our liar in chief was an atheist. Perhaps I'm wrong, and perhaps those claiming he's a Muslim are correct. Perhaps he wants to coddle & protect ISIS Muslims intent on murdering others-- including more peaceful Muslims. Perhaps the liar in chief *wants* ISIS to keep on growing.

Let's face it; the distablization of iraq has been allowed by the usa. The destruction of assad is on the mind of the usa. The chaos in lebenon is from Arafat but welcomed both by hamas and israel. The distabilization of eygpt is also welcomed by israel.
Jordon plays by Israeli's rules.
.
Could it be Israel is planning a conquest from river to river?....from the nile to eurphratie's?......cant blame them.....for using the islamic death cull against itself. Its an ideology thats a kingdom which is against itself can not stand.....usa and israel might just be helping it along.....and it may be God working in geo-politics laying judgement on islam and expanding israel from river to river?....just saying...it seems to fit?

David I have been a silent follower of answeringmuslims.com and I have shared your videos on my fb page. Sadly only a few of my friends watch them. I used to see the slogan "Ignorance Is Bliss" on cars in my hometown now I understand why. They would prefer not to know. David it's been an issue for me but could you make a video about how muhammad rose to power and how he killed so many people in the process because I am getting really tired of how my friend keeps pointing out the crusades. Compare how both of them started, their goals, total damage and etc. I leave it to you for the details.

Allowing ISIS to overrun military bases is Obama's way of arming them without being out-front about it.

Benghazi was a gun running operation gone bad as was "Fast and Furious".

President Obama fails to see more ferocious Islamic threat in the World than that of Ebola virus spreading in the world. Ebola kills people by one, but ISIS kills by hundreds. Otherwise he would not disclose his intention of not sending boots on the ground in Iraq.

By declaring no boots on ground he increases morale of ISIS soldiers and decreases his popularity in USA. God bless America!

Boy it's been a while since I have posted here. Anyways ISIS must be stopped. I don't think enough is being done to finish ISIS off. The longer they take with regard to attacking ISIS with full force. The more time ISIS has to recruit people from around the world.

samatar....the usa just allowed isis to be restocked with weapons by taking over this new base...the usa is allowing isis to continue to advance unabated by only slightly degrading their movements with airstrikes...the usa is allowing isis to gather fanatics around the world to increase their ability to seize bagdad and then destroy assad.....the usa could stop all of this but it wont....the question is,...why?....can you say river to river?

An interesting-- and entirely believable-- theory.

"Benghazi was a gun running operation gone bad"

If I feel like it, I'll read some articles generated by a search for MANPAD + Benghazi, such as the following item.

David Ford...yes and furthermore ; how do you prepare for a greater israel?...you let and help along sunni and shia factions kill each whereby displacing millions and weakening forces and allowing one military (isis) to grow who rattles turkey iran saudie arabia and Egypt and in turn they battle each other while israel is justified defeating isis and winning river to river.........is it just me? or can anyone else see this playing out this way in a few years?

The deception that is going on in Syria is so disturbing. The so called airstrikes are nothing but sorties targeted at empty houses and silos. There was never any intention to neutralize ISIS from the get go.
The stuff we see on TV showing bombardment are just cheap propaganda by the US and its allies. They were the ones that equipped and armed these thugs in the first place.
Very soon if care is not taken the chicken will come home to roost. Then we would have cause our own calamity. It is time to expose all the chicanery going on.

[King Arthur]"how do you prepare for a greater israel?"

Who are some Israeli leaders who want "a greater Israel"?
What do they envision "a greater Israel" looks like?

"you let and help along sunni and shia factions kill each whereby displacing millions and weakening forces"

Sounds like the Iran-Iraq war.
Which reminds me of the Protestant-Catholic clashes.
I wonder whose side Muhammed would be on, were he alive today-- Sunni or Shia or something else….

"and allowing one military (isis) to grow who rattles turkey iran saudie arabia and Egypt and in turn they battle each other while israel is justified defeating isis and winning river to river.........is it just me?"

So you envision that ISIS defeats Turkey Iran Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and then Israel later defeats ISIS. Are you aware of anybody else who thinks this will occur?
So you envision that ISIS defeats Turkey Iran Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and then Israel later defeats ISIS.
Are there a Bible prophecy devotee here who thinks such a scenario is possible, given your interpretation of the New Testament book of Revelation?

[bam bamba]"Very soon if care is not taken the chicken will come home to roost. Then we would have cause our own calamity."

The care that needs to be taken is for America to return to the God of the Bible. The blood of 50 million pre-born human lives snuffed out via legalized murder in the wake of Roe v. Wade is crying out for justice, and it looks like we're on track to get what we deserve.

When Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was growing up in Russia, the best answer he heard to the question of 'how come all these bad things are happening here?' was, 'because we have forgotten God.'

What do they envision "a greater Israel" looks like?............................from the nile river to eurphratie's river north to turkey; south straight line to Kuwait
.
.
So you envision that ISIS defeats Turkey Iran Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and then Israel later defeats ISIS?.....................................no i mean isis will slowly engulf or detablize all lebenon, Syria, east of Jorden, iraq Kuwait and this will rattle iran because iraq was once shia state lost to sunni isis...it will rattle saudia arabia because isis thinks kaaba is idol worship, and iran and saudia tensions will increase...it will rattle turkey who sees itself as returning to ottoman empire status and turkey and egypt aren't friends cause turkey is more secular and egypt is slipping into more extremism with brotherhood with lybia at its steps....all warring factions rattled by isis destabilizing inner middle east and when israel steps in to stop isis...it will take over whole region unnerving everyone around them...ps 83 and or Ezekiel wars with total destruction of damasca....it all could be reality in next few years....ofcourse greater fall out would be nuke war east west russia and the states ww3....lol...good time to believe in Jesus

[King Arthur]"isis destabilizing inner middle east"

Yes, all that could very well happen.

"and when israel steps in to stop isis...it will take over whole region"

No, Israel isn't going to try to take over the Middle East. It completely lacks the manpower, for one thing. Israel's acquisition of a little additional territory occurred after wars were started by Muslims against it, and the additional territory (correct me if I'm wrong) is more of a buffer zone than the result of a desire to dominate fresh territory.

Israel *does* want to be left alone. There's a Sunni saying, 'first the Saturday people, then the Sunday people'-- first eliminate the Jews, then the Christians. Perhaps ISIS will attack Israel before it goes after say Saudi Arabia with its kaaba. It has plans to take over Lebanon in the very near future, and Lebanon is partly Christian.
