Colorado Muslim Convert Shannon Conley Pleads Guilty to Attempting to Join Islamic State (ISIS)

Politicians and the media defend Muhammad and the Qur'an through outright deception. Since people never hear the truth about Islam, and only hear praises from our leaders, young people like Shannon Conley are happy to convert to Islam when a Muslim preacher arrives. Some of these converts then examine the Qur'an to see what Allah commands them to do. And they read:
Qur’an 9:29—Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
Imagine what would have happened if someone had told Conley the truth about Islam before she converted. She would have her whole life ahead of her.
DENVER - A 19-year-old Arvada woman accused of trying to help a foreign terrorist organization plans to plead guilty in the case.

Federal documents filed Friday say an agreement has been reached in the case against Shannon Conley of Arvada. Details of the agreement weren't part of the court filing, but Conley's public defender Robert Pepin asked to schedule a change of plea hearing.

A federal criminal complaint states that between Sept. 7, 2013 and April 8, 2014, Shannon Maureen Conley, together with others, tried to provide material support and resources, including personnel and expert advice, to a foreign terrorist organization.

Shannon Conley (right) after converting to Islam
Conley, a Muslim convert, was arrested April 8 at Denver International Airport after telling FBI agents she was traveling to Syria to use her American military training from the U.S. Army Explorers to aid Islamic militants waging jihad -- or holy war -- even though she knew that it was illegal, according to federal court records.

She said "legitimate targets of attack" included U.S. military bases, government employees and public officials, the documents say.

Against her parents wishes, Conley planned to marry a Tunisian man, who was fighting in Syria for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), an al-Qaida splinter group. She'd met the man online and communicated with him on Skype.

Conley is charged with conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Authorities began investigating Conley on Nov. 5, 2013, after a call from the pastor at Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada who saw Conley taking notes at the church. (Continue Reading.)

Sounds like the FBI saved this poor womans life. Lets pray she comes out of Islam and uses her life instead of throwing it away.

Dear Mr. Wood, I'm curious to know exactly what you mean with what you say about "talking about islam." you seem to harp on this a lot, that we should talk about islam and that would solve problem of people becoming potential recruits.

In this latest blog you take the example of this woman, you seem to hypothesize that if this knew the true nature of islam, she wouldn't convert. (And I'm guessing you believe about the vast converts)

you write:

"Politicians and the media defend Muhammad and the Qur'an through outright deception. Since people never hear the truth about Islam, and only hear praises from our leaders, young people like Shannon Conley are happy to convert to Islam when a Muslim preacher arrives. Some of these converts then examine the Qur'an to see what Allah commands them to do. And they read:

Imagine what would have happened if someone had told Conley the truth about Islam before she converted. She would have her whole life ahead of her. "

but whos to say

A) that Ms Connely and others weren't aware of this commandment before they converted,

and B) who to say if Ms. Connely and others learning later after being "dupped" into conversion, finding out the supposed Truth of the nature of islam, would leave it.

I guess what I'm trying to say how by "insisting about islam" will you prevent potential converts?

I do not want to take part in this complications of religion but people should be more concerned about their services to their country in spite of being any religion. There are some active military bases in north carolina in which those good deeds are taken into action. They serve their country try to contribute in the betterment of the society.
