The Things Muslims Say (about the Holy Spirit)

***WARNING*** OFFENSIVE MATERIAL

I'm somewhat reluctant to post the blasphemous nonsense certain Muslims blurt out when they're cornered in an argument, but people who want to get into conversations over the internet need to be aware of an increasingly common problem. Islam is indefensible, so it isn't difficult to corner a critic with an inescapable difficulty. The problem is that when some of the internet apologists for Islam realize that they can't answer an objection, they immediately turn to blasphemy to end the conversation.

Just a few minutes ago, I was having a discussion about the preservation of the Qur'an and the Bible, when a Muslim named Suleman Ali (from Texas) saw that things weren't going his way.

After reading this comment, I pointed out that Suleman was blaspheming the Holy Spirit, to which he replied:

I pointed out again what he was doing, but he simply reaffirmed his statement:

I waited for the other Muslims in the group to rebuke him, but Suleman continued the blasphemy:

By this point, it was clear that the conversation was over, so I had to end it (which was Suleman's intention):

I'm not sure there's a way around this problem. Again, Islam is indefensible, so refuting it is quite easy. In many places in the Muslim world, Muhammad's followers can silence criticism through force. On the internet, however, they can't silence critics through violence, so they have to put an end to the discussion some other way. The latest method for ending conversations for certain Muslims is to start posting the most incredibly blasphemous and offensive comments they can come up with.

This is a sad commentary on the current state of Christian-Muslim dialogue, but Christians who want to reach out to Muslims need to be aware of it.

I guess I'll go take a shower now.

David I'm a huge fan of your work! It is so sad how low these people stoop to defend the indefensible as you said. Do they understand the dire consequences of their blasphemies on their soul? Clearly not and its a terrible shame!

What a shame!! If only they knew the consequences for their soul!

Hello brother David,
I have been following you and brother Sam for quite a while now but I never commented on your blog....but it is high time that we as Christians demand that we have rights too....any one can say or mock MY Christ on blogs and TV whenever they want to and somehow I'm suppose to be tolerant towards it....but I bet if a say something disrespectful about their prophet I'd be labeled RACIST.... I don't know what race is Muslim! So to every Muslim out there..all Im gonna say is that my Jesus's grace is such that all the graves are full...only his is empty..beat that and THEN mock my Christ

I wouldn't waste your time with people like this Sulemon, he is just there to make people angry.

May God grant that guy repentance.

David,
The only reason Muslims act in such a way is because deep inside they know that they cannot defend the Quran or the Hadiths. My own daughter has been so mad at me she hasn't talked to me for weeks, and then she says we just can't talk about Religion, I say that's great because I am not religious, I am spiritual and I believe in the bible man made religion, so can we talk about spiritual things and of course she says no, but every once in a while we get into that conversation because every thing in my life revolves around Jesus, but when she no longer answer me that's when she won't speak to me for weeks.

This is a common problem when having an exchange with muslims. Blasphemous arguments is one of their option they run to. Another one is the 'redundant/out of nowhere ' question. By this, I mean that when cornered in argument or when they see that you successfully debunked their flawed reasoning, they start to ask either the same question over and over again but in different 'formats', or questions that have nothing to do with the topic being discussed. So, Christians be advised, you are not entering an argument with reasonable people... Sadly...

Thank you again, Mr. Wood, for another educational post -- this time regarding what Muslims often do when they are backed into one of the many corners that their belief system contains.

Here is a subject I personally would love to know about: what is actually told to a prospective convert to Islam to get him or her to step over the goal line?

My guess is that info probably depends on the intended convert's personality: different parts of the Trilogy are used for the homicidal prisoner versus the naive student.

Maybe one of your associates would consider temporarily boarding the Shahada Express, finding a car with "Been there, done that" apostates -- who live to tell the tale to blog readers here.

This is the same Holy Spirit that the Quran says Jesus had, am I right? The same one that Muslims claim is the Archangel Gabriel who received the entire Quran on the Night of Power and delivered it to Muhammad? So is this Muslim accusing the deliverer of the Quran of also being a sodomite fallen angel?

It really just boggles the mind.

As always, David you did well. I enjoy watching you in action. Unfortunately, this is the mentality of many Muslims within the debate forums through Facebook. Their spiritual darkness is deep.

Since that guy blasphem the holy spirit, his pretty much a dead man walking !!!

This all reminds me of this guy, but at least he didn't let his evil remarks about us reach the point of heaping insults on the Holy Spirit.

Can someone tell me why the sin in Mark 3:29 is unforgivable? I thought there was no sin that could not be washed by the blood of Christ Jesus.

Anthony Rogers said...

Hi Jabari,

The sin mentioned in Mark 3 is the sin of attributing the self-evidencing works of the Spirit to Satan or an unclean spirit. In effect, one who commits this sin is guilty of the greatest blasphemy possible, i.e. making the Holy Spirit out to be Satan or on the level of the demons. (By the way, this is a proof of the deity of the Spirit since this is the ultimate violation of the third commandment, as evidenced by the fact that it receives the stiffest penalty.)

Many would argue that this sin could only be committed by people who witnessed first-hand the miracles that Jesus performed by the Spirit of God, and that as such it is tied to the first century. In any case, since the Spirit is the agent who works repentance and faith in a person's heart, no one who repents and believes in Christ needs to worry that s/he has or will commit this sin. "No one can say 'Jesus is Lord' except in the Holy Spirit." (1 Cor. 12:3)

Unknown said...

@Jabari

I'll try to answer it from my perspective...

There's many passages in the bible revealing that holy spirit is the spirit of Truth (as reference that God is the Truth).

So hypothetically if I got a son who mocks me and says "Dad you are too stupid as a person" twice daily, I won't be so upset and kill him on the spot. Why? Because most dad loves his children. However, if he continues that behavior until adulthood and carries it to the grave,... That would make me sad.

REF Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Understand that you can only believe in Christ, only if The Father draws you in and the Holy Spirit works in you (by changing your mindset Romans 12:2).

So while a person may disowned Christ three times such as peter, it's not blasphemy of the holy spirit. But rejecting the truth that Christ is God, until your last day in the earth, that would be blasphemy of the holy spirit.

As a comparison, I would like to put another reference when the pharisees claimed that Jesus works are the doing of satan,... (Matthew 12:25-28) in which the pharisees claimed in the hearts that Jesus was the adversary, the devil minions, ... here's what Jesus answered:
Matt 12:32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

I might have added that this Muslim I will Pray for because he did himself no favor in being a enemy of the Holy Spirit and Jesus says to Pray for enimies.

The blasphemy led to judgment on the ones who accused Jesus of using Satan's power to cast out demons. Because the hypocrites were so into their "traditions of men," this made God's word of "no effect."

Had they known the Scriptures they should have seen Jesus' healing of the man on the Sabbath was in fulfillment of Isaiah 35:4-6, etc.

That was why it was unpardonable to that generation.

Mark 3:28 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; 29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— 30 because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

@suleman

you are sleeping with satan, because clearly you disregarded what your koran says about the previous scriptures, it is from the God of Abraham, there is indication of the Holy spirit in the koran, and The Bible, clearly states, "DONT BLASPHEME THE HOLY SPIRIT' and you went ahead & did it!!
I feel sorry for you, because you dont learn from history!!!
What am I talking about, ahmed dedaat, the voice of satan had the MOST Publicly humiliating, unflattering, demeaning, pathetic, (where he cant even wipe his behind)Life was put on exhibition for the last 9 years of his life, as an example of what happens when you sleep with satan!
All your problems that you will face comes from sleeping with satan not from the God of Abraham!

Another question: Does the unforgivable sin have anything to do with Hebrews 6:4-8?

Unknown said...

@Jabari

As you can see it is a hypothetical statement, ...

Hebrews 6:4
For IT IS IMPOSSIBLE, IN THE CASE of those who have once been enlightened,... who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

And correct!

However I can be accused of advancing calvinism viewpoint on OSAS, but I appreciate also arminians viewpoint, as they are my brothers in Christ.

As other reference linking this passage are:

1 John 5:18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him

1 Peter 2:3 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Phillipians 2:12
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

--- or even the old testament, such as
Psalms 34:8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

Feel free to read the whole chapter if necessary if you are troubled with the context. :D

I agree with richardi: "As you can see it is a hypothetical statement, ..."

I'd say the context of writing the letter to the Hebrews was to warn the Jewish converts (Christians), against trying to hide their conversion with the then soon coming persecution.

To seek protection under the pretense of Judaism when the going got tough and then switching back when things cooled some would be tantamount to holding Messiah in "contempt." Since to follow Him would have been made clear persecution is par for the course for Believers.

I take this to be a Biblism and not Calvinism or any other ism though many disagree.

There was the First Aion Age when Jesus was walking the Earth and arguing with the Pharisees, which corresponds to when Jesus said “This age” (Bible, New Testament, Matthew 12:31-32)
There was the Second Aion Age when Jesus was dead in the tomb, which corresponds to when Jesus said “the age to come” (Bible, New Testament, Matthew 12:31-32)
There is a the Third Aion Age when Jesus was resurrected alive again and also is the Age when Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit is forgiven and is also the age that we are in now. This age goes on for eternity.

Thus ALL GO TO HEAVEN and nothing changed about grace.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the term word for unbelief.
ALL GO TO HEAVEN BECAUSE unbelief is forgiven.

A Time in the Life of Jesus is an Age because Jesus is God and is that important.

God the Father sent his only begotten to die for the sin of mankind and be resurrected as our salvation. It grieves God to see Muslim people who are worshiping a false moon god called Allah who is nothing more than the father of lies Satan which is your Allah. He who denies the Son of God denies the Father.(1 john Ch 2 vs 23). Muslim's chant "their god is one and he has no son. You are correct because Satan never had a redeemer to be born into this earth. But Satan does have many children of disobedience.(Colossians 3:6)
You see with God salvation through Jesus is a relationship not a mere religion which what you Islamic's call it. Your religion. Well religion can save no man no matter what kind.
The truth of God's word is this. If you deny Jesus the Son of God he is going to deny you. And Allah will be nowhere to be found. But Muslims don't feel alone because anyone else who isn't a Muslim who deny's Christ will suffer the same fate. Isaiah 5:14 say's: Hell has enlarged itself to take in brawlers and revelers.
Their are no virgins waiting for you in the bowels of hell. If only some of your suicide bombers could return to you and tell you the real truth. Repent and save yourselves from the horror that awaits you.
You can insult me as much as you want but it won't change the truth of Gods word. And know this . The true and living God loves you with an unconditional love that is greater than anything you could ever imagine.

David, I have encountered this behavior myself on several occasions. When Muslims are unable to defend Islam in face-to-face discussions, they get angry. At that point they either break off the conversation or lash out in rage. In internet discussions, however, profanity and/or obscenity are favorite tactics.

Bear in mind that in many Islamic cultures, however, the use of foul language is not considered low or uncouth; it simply reflects the passionate commitment of the speaker to his cause. Islam is a shame-based culture. When a Muslim erupts in rage in response to criticisms of Islam, he is showing his strength and defending his honor. Truth matters very little in such altercations - all that is important is saving face. Other Muslims are likely to applaud the profaner and sneer at his opponents for not responding in kind. Since western debaters are focused upon truth and Muslims are focused upon honor, they tend to simply talk past each other. You can't win an argument of this nature.

Muhammad himself was very foul-mouthed. Some of the things the hadith collections and siras record him saying would make a sailor blush. The terms he used were unbelievably crude. Given that he is considered the "perfect man" and a "beautiful pattern" for humankind, can we really be surprised when Muslims follow his example?
