Their complete arrogance will be their downfall. You can tell what is in their soul by the bruise on their foreheads. Maybe though their brains fall out.
Koala said, "Their complete arrogance will be their downfall. You can tell what is in their soul by the bruise on their foreheads. Maybe though their brains fall out." Suhaib is smart, I really do admire his intelligence. Just not his theology. Dr. White said it last and best, spiritual truth does not go hand in hand with intelligence and it never will be.
Deleting, you are right. In my estimation, both Suhaib and Abu Mussab are highly intelligent, well-informed individuals when it comes to Islam, all differences between them notwithstanding. And as you said, knowledge does not always amount to piety, at least not in any meaningful sense that Christians would recognize. But I imagine that both of these guys think they are demonstrating taqwa toward Allah. This is not piety but a pity.
I met Imam Suhaib and I wasn't impressed. I question his intelligence and rather credit him for his "fine use of words". He reminds me of Obama. When I met him, I questioned him about the Hadith. I asked him his opinion on the classics like Bukhari, Ibn Kathir etc. He told me not to use them, that I should refer to modern scholars. He actually referred me to Hamza Yusuf! I went to the book store inside the Mosque and asked the book keeper. I told him what the Imam said. Immediately his response was the opposite and said that we should be reading from those scholars! He started referencing from Ibn Kathir! Imam Suhaib in my opinion is a self proclaimed intellectual and I do not respect his demeanor. Regarding wearing robes... in my meeting with him, he actually was wearing one. I would love to see him in a debate with you guys.
@michael how long ago did you meet Suhaib? The video clip looks recent he could have changed his position since you met him.
