Indian Author Sushmita Banerjee Murdered by Taliban

Qur’an 3:32—Say: Obey Allah and the Apostle; but if they turn back, then surely Allah does not love the unbelievers.

Qur’an 9:123—O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).

Sushmita Banerjee
(CNN) — An Indian author whose memoir about her dramatic escape from the Taliban became a Bollywood movie was shot dead by militants in Afghanistan, police said Thursday.

Sushmita Banerjee, also known as Sushmita Bandhopadhya, was killed outside her home in Paktika province, according to Dawlat Khan Zadran, the police chief of eastern Paktika province.

He said suspected Taliban insurgents broke into her house Wednesday night, blindfolded and tied up her husband, and fled with Banerjee.

Her body was found Thursday, dumped outside a madrasa, or religious school, in the outskirts of Sharana city, the provincial capital.

"She had around 20 bullet holes in her body," Zadran said.

Banerjee gained attention with her 1995 book, "A Kabuliwala's Bengali Wife."

It recounts her story of marrying for love and moving to Afghanistan in 1989 to be with her husband. It traces her life in Afghanistan, her harassment by the Taliban and her eventual journey back to India. (Continue Reading.)

There are so many people being killed on an hourly basis by this horrendous perverted system-islam and the followers think there is some form of justification for these dastardly savage acts!
The slightest pretext & an aggressive posture will be adopted by these muslim savages!
So sad for this very brave Lady!
Praying for her family.

Hi David,
would you have any material on an obscure ("supposedly") incident that an "Emissary" of muhammad was killed while sending a letter or message to the byzantine empire? He may have been killed by ally of the byzantine empire, or something to that effect.
Thanks.

Rukiah: What are you talking about? The people in the article said the Taliban did it, so they are being blamed. Are you saying the Taliban didn't do it? If so, who did? What is your proof?
Isn't it just to blame the people who do evil things?

Wouldn't it be considered unjust when a story comes out of people in a group doing something to instantly without providing proof claim that they are being blackmailed/bribed into doing it by another group to make their own group look bad? If a Christian said , after a Christian killed a non-Christian that they did it only because they were bought off by a non-Christian (or even, a muslim) to make Christianity look bad, would you accept it or instantly dismiss it, or something else? If would dismiss it, why?

Feel free to run away from these questions as you always do Rukiah. You show you are cowardly when faced with hard questions that bring into question the honesty of your methodology.

It is sad to hear of what happened to Sushmita Banerjee. As one Indian to another and as one human to another I feel sad about what happened to a fine person such as her. But let us keep emotions to the side for a moment and consider the facts: -
{1} She marries Jaanbaz Khan in July 1988
{2} After marriage she was shocked to learn that Khan was already married.
{3} She takes pity on Khan's first wife, Gulguti, and even reared her children.
{4} She adopts Tinni, the daughter of her brother-in-law
{5} She made an abortive bid to escape first in early 1994, but her brothers-in-law tracked her down & take her back to Afghanistan.
{6} She gets confined by the Taliban in house arrest.
{7} She rejects the efforts of her parents to have her divorced

Now what does Sayeda Kamala (Sushmita Banerjee) do after she returns to Afghanistan? She worked as a health worker recording on celluloid the lives of local women as part of her humane nature. But consider this from an Islamic point of view:
{1} She is considered a woman of "poor morals" since she tries run away from her home.
{2} She attempted to show Islam in poor light by writing a memoir about her dramatic escape from Afghanistan
{3} She worked as a health worker and thus attempted to have an independent career.
{4} She photographs the local women All these activities show that she had negative influence on other Muslim women who are not allowed to go outside without their husband or close male relatives, or have independent careers, or even make pictures of humans & animals.

From a human & moral point of view, Sayeda Kamala (Sushmita Banerjee) she tried to be a human first and follow her Islamic religion later. She does this by forgiving her husband for hiding the truth of his first wife, helping the first wife by taking care of her children, adopting Tinni the niece of her husband and loves her husband enough to reject her parent’s efforts to divorce her. But why was she hell bent on climbing a slippery slope covered with oil? None of us will never come to know.

Good Muslims (from Islam’s view point) will be rejoicing that a bad influence have been removed from their midst. The only thing that the Islam proved is that a good human being makes for a bad Muslim. Unfortunately Sushmita Banerjee did not know enough of Islam to follow it.
