Iranian Convert Mohammad-Hadi Bordbar Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison for Evangelism

As Western politicians and the media continue to praise Islam, reality still applies to Christians living in Muslim countries.

Mostafa Bordbar
TEHRAN, IRAN (BosNewsLife)—An Iranian Christian convert has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on what his supporters say are false charges linked to his evangelical church activities, local activist said Tuesday, August 6.

Mohammad-Hadi (Mostafa) Bordbar, a 27-year-old resident of the city of Rasht, was "tried by Judge Pir-Abbasi on the morning of June 9, 2013 in branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran," amid a wider government crackdown on spreading Christianity in Iran said Mohabat News, an agency of Iranian Christian and activists.

Bordbar, who has been detained since December 27, 2012, received a five-year jail sentence for "membership of an anti-security organization" and an additional five years for "gathering with the intent to commit crimes against Iranian national security," according to published court documents.

The court reportedly said that Bordbar was involved in "Christian evangelical activities" and "Zionism" aimed at undermining the Islamic leadership of the country through establishing "evangelical ministries and organizations and holding underground worship meetings."

It cited Mostafa Bordbar's baptism at the home of a pastor, his continued involvement in house churches in the capital Tehran and the areas of Gilan, Karaj and Esfahan as well as related evangelism work as further evidence that he violated the laws of this strict Islamic nation. Islam is a cult that is why its adherents are so afraid of christianity.

Islam will surely be defeated by the truth in Christianity that is why Islamic countries cannot tolerate brave soldiers of the cross like this Mohammad-Hadi Bordbar. Please let us campaign for his release by sending letters to congress.

May the Lord bless him and keep him strong in the midst of this persecution.

To David Wood, I just watched your video about the three stages of Muslim beliefs, possibly not write terminology I am using. Your video I watched was posted on Liberty Alliance about Peaceful Muslims...I am an evangelical Christian, and what I am suggesting that you do to add to your video is to also look for scriptures in our own Holy Bible (I prefer the KJV), and look for violence described in the Old Testament, and sometimes in the New Testament. We Christians have to come to terms that not everything in our own Bible is always appear peaceful to other religions.

I do not want to see Jihad take over this United States, and I am disgusted with the fact that more people are not standing up for Jesus Christ. Are you a Christian or you a secularist, who are you? We need to worry about promoting peaceful Christianity in the United States of America, and the Jews who want to go along with that program are most certainly welcome. Just my two cents worth.

"I am an evangelical Christian,"
to be honest, I doubt this very much, what you say doesn't sound very Christian to me, and in fact sounds like the same Tu Quo Que arguments Muslims make.

" and look for violence described in the Old Testament, and sometimes in the New Testament."
I really don't understand what you mean by this, or what the point is in bringing it up. Do you mean the "violence" that is specifically aimed at specific times and places to particularly sinful peoples? Do you beleive God made a mistake and has changed since the OT times? What do you mean by "sometimes in the New Testament"? Do you mean violence described as being directed AT Christians (By Paul or Rome)? If so, Why in the world would that be relevant? Do you mean violence in Revelation when God directly conemns the nations? If so, why do you feel God is unworthy to judge? There is aboslutely no violence by Christians in the NT, so this just seems in incredibly ignorant thing for a self-avowed Chrisitan to make.

" and I am disgusted with the fact that more people are not standing up for Jesus Christ"
I'm standing up for Jesus Christ. Against your false claims about the bible.

". Are you a Christian or you a secularist, who are you? "
Funny, your post makes me want to ask the same question.

"We need to worry about promoting peaceful Christianity in the United States of America, and the Jews who want to go along with that program are most certainly welcome"
Of course it's not Chrisitans by an stretch of the numbers commiting violence, so there's no clear reason why to be so concerned about Christians.

Also you seem to imply that Jews by large are not peaceful (perhaps implying a belief in the "occupation" myth), which smacks of antisemitism.

I admit, maybe I'm completely misunderstanding you, but what you posted is very suspicious to say the least.

Muslim in the western country should thankful that they can doing their dakwah to non muslim in the street without worried being arrested, while for christian in muslim countries it would threat to national security. How about western countries apllied the same regulation as muslim countries do and see what the impact of it, the muslims would cried out that is a islamophobe or ask for justice and equal treatment. If islam so wonderful and pro to human life why don't all muslim just stay on their own countries and enjoy their peaceful religion. In fact they all go to west just to enjoy the liberty that provided which value came from christianity. What i'm say is why don't muslim give an equal treatment to non muslim in muslim countries.

Well in this country that dosen't happen. Why do you think muslims are the ones commiting violence and not a single christan commited violence. I don't know what you are thinking but I live in the bronx here, yet muslims that live here don't commit violence. The area I live in has gun violence. Well many muslims came to America to havea better life.

Do you people hate muslims or your just very against them?

Once again you don't refute what Warung says. That there is widespread persecution of non-Muslims and a lack of religious freedoms in Muslim countries is irrefutable, and that you ignore it shows you are either too embarrassed to admit it, or you agree with it and are trying to distract us from it.

The answer to your second question should be obvious from what we say and has been already answered. critisim is not hate.

Of course we don't hate Muslims, we are "very against them" when they subjugate us, remove our religious freedoms and try to kill us. Any sane person would be "very against" such things. Either you are a "peaceful" Muslim and against those things (in which case, you should hurry and spend at least as much energy if not more telling your co-fellow muslims to be more peaceful and tolerant), or you agree with them, which makes you an enemy of freedom and an Islamofacist. Which is it?

@Rukiah Ali ... we love Muslims but our book says "fight those who don't believe in Allah or his prophet Muhammad" ... Go and read it Mr. Takya

Hey Rukiah, "modern" Muslims are only modern because they don't know what the Qur'an teaches or maybe they do know and turn a blind eye to the obvious! But let me ask you a question Rukiah... When was the last time you heard of a Christian saying "Praise be to God" or "Jesus Is Lord" while chopping someone's head off or just simply killing them? Now, on the contrary, how many times have you heard of Muslims saying "Allahu Akbar" while killing someone, chopping off heads, bombing places and destroying things? Why do you think that is? Here's a little hint......ITS IN THE QURAN!!! Shocked?? Its ok. A lot of Muslims are too when they find out what their book actually teaches. So do some research. This oughta keep you busy ;)

Not all muslims kill most muslims are peaceful you just don't see it everyone has different veiws of a person/religon/ an object. No I am not shocked I read that verse. I did not say all christans I said christans that live in the area I did not say ALL.

@Ok Rukiah, so based on what you said, I am eager to know what your views are on the following verses from your Quran...
9:29 "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued" ... doesn't sound very peaceful to me unfortunately.
How about 98:6 "Those who disbelieve from among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures" ...would you agree that all non-Muslims are the worst of creatures? Because that's what your book is telling you top believe.
8:55 "Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve, then they would not believe" ... Do you think of us non-Muslims as animals?
32:13 "If We had so willed, We could certainly have brought every soul its true guidance" ... Now why would the "all knowing" and "all merciful" do such a thing? Because if im reading this correctly, your Quran is telling you that non-Muslims are the worst of creatures. We are like animals and Muslims should FIGHT us. Oh and I totally forgot this one...
9:5 "And when the sacred months have passed, then KILL the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful"
There are a ton of other similar verses in your Quran but for now, if you could present your views on these verses, I would very much appreciate it as I'd like to know if there could be a different view on what written in black n white! Thanks!

@Rukiah ...And I would add, if you're going to say it is out of context, then you must present the context as proof. Please present proof to your arguments this time.
