Rabbi Daniel Lapin Asks Penn Jillette an Interesting Question

This almost sounds like the beginning of a joke: "A rabbi and an atheist are having a discussion on a show hosted by a Mormon. So the rabbi asks the atheist, 'Would the world be a better place if a billion Muslims became evangelical Christians?' And the atheist says . . ."

Gotta love Penn Jillette.

I saw this the first time it came out! It was great how Penn was stumped for a few seconds and finally answered the truth!!

Penn, opinionated as all get-out, does have respect for truth.

The Rabbi is of course right, but being a devout Jew, he also has a great sense of humor, suggesting that Muslims becoming Evangelical Christians, would improve the world. Now that is "ecumenism" at its best!

If no religion is better or worse than any other, at least that's what liberals tell us, then how can the world be a better place if a billion Muslims convert to Christianity?

The answer - because some religions are better than others. That fact will cause millions of liberal brains to explode.

The only thing better would be if they became Jewish. With all of the advancing in Science, the Arts, etc. that a small number of Jews have managed, can one but imagine the advances that a billion Jews could bring to humanity and the peacefully no less.

The entire world should hate what the Nazis did, because we will never know what the world lost on by having such a huge portion of the most productive people be murdered

Penn Jillette Magazine prides itself on irreverent humor. However, Jillette admits that Showtime has forbidden him to mock Scientology and he hasn’t tackled Islam “because we have families.”

For the life of me I can’t understand why anyone would consider the opinions of Penn to be of any relevance. Why is it we always seek the opinions and thoughts of people from the entertainment business. The guys a comedian, that’s it. I wouldn’t take advice or be interested in hearing advice or opinions from any other flake entertainer, and there are many that come to mind so why would anything Penn says be of any significance. Sorry Glen Beck, while I agree with you on most things I have to say that this was a waste of my time to watch this interview. So Penn is an atheist. Big Deal.

That's racial, not religious. Ashkenazi Jews, and only Ashkenazi Jews, are about 15 IQ points smarter than the average European. That's why they contribute so much more intellectually.

Actually great scientists are usually atheists, so you would need Muslims to turn into Ashkenazi Jewish atheists.

As for whether the world would be better if a billion Muslims turned into *evangelical* Christians... I think the answer is probably "no". The world would definitely be better if they turned into normal Christians, but turning Muslims In Name Only into evangelical Christians would be a bad thing. Particularly if all the former Muslims' secular, genetic, or personality issues remained unaddressed.

Carl:" Perhaps you don't know what "evangelical" means. It means one who evangelizes, or shares their faith. Why is this a bad thing?

Besides this there is no real difference between a "normal" (whatever that really means) Christian or a Evcangelical" Christian if they both follow the *fundamentals* of the bible.
