Sunni Cleric Muhammed al-Arifi Calls for More Prostitution among Muslims Fighting in Syria

Muhammad allowed his followers to practice a form of prostitution called Muta. In Muhammad's time, a Muslim could pay a woman for "temporary marriage," which would last a few hours or a few days. According to certain traditions, Muhammad eventually changed his mind about this obviously immoral practice. Today, Sunnis often claim that Muta is a Shia practice. However, Sunni scholars understand that the Muslim sources are inconsistent, with some of Islam's most trusted sources declaring that Muhammad never prohibited Muta. For instance, the following passage in Sahih Muslim declares that Muslims were practicing Muta well beyond the lifetime of Muhammad:

Sahih Muslim 3248—Ibn Uraij reported: 'Ati' reported that Jabir b. Abdullah came to perform 'Umra, and we came to his abode, and the people asked him about different things, and then they made a mention of temporary marriage, whereupon he said: Yes, we had been benefiting ourselves by this temporary marriage during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet and during the time of Abu Bakr and ‘Umar.

Some hadith claim that it was Umar, rather than Muhammad, who outlawed Muta:

Sahih Muslim 3250—Abu Nadra reported: While I was in the company of Jabir b. Abdullah, a person came to him and said that Ibn 'Abbas and Ibn Zubair differed on the two types of Mut'a (Tamattu’ of Hajj 1846 and Tamattu’ with women), whereupon Jabir said: We used to do these two during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger. Umar then forbade us to do them, and so we did not revert to them.

Not surprisingly, since these are Sunni hadith, some Sunni scholars support temporary marriage. Popular Wahhabi Cleric Muhammed al-Arifi has even issued a fatwa allowing Jihadists fighting in Syria to hire prostitutes:

Yes, Jihad and prostitution. Welcome to Islam!

Happy New Year to David and all the followers of this blog!

Rebel fighters couldn't expect a better New Year fatwa!
Why should they be deprived of what Muhammad's fighters were allowed to do (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 52)?

This cleric is crazy. Here's another video about Muhammad having sex with Aisha when she was only 9 years old (that doesn't seem to bother him, he still can laugh!!!):

It's strange how clerics in the Middle East (especially in Saudi Arabia, the cradle of Islam), contrary to Muslim apologists in the West like Sami Zaatari, do not have any problem in interpreting the related ahadith as meaning sexual intercourse when Aisha was 9. I guess it's probably because they do not have to face David Wood on a regular basis :-))

That only applies to the muslim women, the jihadists can capture, enslave and rape non muslim women, including children.

These are the words of an insane man if he really said that. I will kick his ass but I might wanna do the same for ignorant people who find any excuse to attack "all" muslims for the acts or says of one...

Are you referring to Muhammad or to the cleric. Both said it, so I'm not sure which one you're talking about assaulting.

@David

This reply is amazing! I burst out in laughter at work and my colleagues were wondering what was happening!
Do you have the hadith I cited above in mind?

Volume 7, Book 62, Number 52:
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah and Salama bin Al-Akwa':

While we were in an army, Allah's Apostle came to us and said, "You have been allowed to do the Mut'a (marriage), so do it." Salama bin Al-Akwa' said: Allah's Apostle's said, "If a man and a woman agree (to marry temporarily), their marriage should last for three nights, and if they like to continue, they can do so; and if they want to separate, they can do so." I do not know whether that was only for us or for all the people in general. Abu Abdullah (Al-Bukhari) said: 'Ali made it clear that the Prophet said, "The Mut'a marriage has been cancelled (made unlawful)."

Is there any other reference in either Bukhari or Muslim?

Sorry, I mean in Bukhari. The Muslim references are already in the post.
