Dennis Prager: The Middle East Problem

According to Dennis Prager, the Middle East problem isn't hard to understand. Hard to solve, maybe. But not hard to understand.

Off point.

The group behind the proposed mega-mosque (Tablighi Jamaat), are gathering support for another attempt at building a mosque the size of Battersea Power Station. They have people as far away as India signing the online application.

Alan Craig (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgKJLNPqozo) Mega-Mosque: TJ Take The Gloves Off!, has been speaking up against this for some time now. You do not have to be a UK resident to post your objections but hurry, Newham Council will be making its decision within the next few weeks.

Most of what Prager says is true. My only 2 criticisms is that he should have included what is below about the Ottoman Empire # 2;

and

1. also the Hamas charter of the quote from the Hadith about "the rocks and trees will say there is a Jew behind them; kill them; and that fighting against the Jews will go on until the last day." And it needs to be pointed out that that is in Sahih Muslim)

“The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time [of judgment] will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews and kill them; until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!” (Sahih Muslim book 41, no. 6985);

2. About the Arab Muslim Empire beginning in 638 AD and Ottoman Empire until 1917.

Around the 5:20 mark - he shows the first kingdom of Israel until 586 BC - the exile and destruction of Solomon's temple. Then the 2nd kingdom of Israel - 539 BC - 63 BC - when the Romans conquered Israel.

he said, "there was never an autonomous Muslim state" ( I guess he means "by itself" as a political boundary - state/country)-

But the Arab Muslims conquered it in 638 AD - Omar, the 2nd Caliph - and the Ottoman Empire controlled it all the way up until the end of World War 1 - 1917. In between that time, during the Crusades, the European Crusaders controlled parts of that land. (sometime back and forth in between 1095-1299 AD) It was not a country of "Palestine" or a sovereign Arab Muslim state, but it was under the control of the Ottoman Empire.

He needed to make that more clear, IMO.

Hey David, hope you are well. You may or may not be aware. Birmingham UK has very strong winds as I type this blog. It has been reported on the news that part of a Mosque roof blew off today in Birmingham and damaged 3 cars in the process but no one hurt. I wonder if any Muslims will be quick to refer to this incident as the judgement of god, like they are quick to when disasters of any description is reported in your great country and my great country? Some how, I don't think so!
