Tracts Needed for Dearborn Arab Festival Outreach

The Dearborn Arab Festival is less than two weeks away. We still have some pamphlets left over from other events, but we need at least 5000 copies each of two key pamphlets (one dealing with the deity of Christ and the other dealing with his death and resurrection). The printer charges $295 for a batch of 5000, and I'm guessing it will be around $50 to ship each batch of 5000. So we need close to $700 for pamphlets for the festival. Please chip in if you can.

For those who can't make it to the festival but would like copies of the pamphlets, I've made both pamphlets available online. You can print out copies on your own printer by clicking on the files:

"Where Did Jesus say, 'I Am God, Worship Me'?"
"Who Corrupted the Gospel?"

***UPDATE*** Awesome! In just a few hours, we've had more than enough donations to cover the tracts I ordered today. The printer won't have time to print and ship orders after today, so any further donations will go towards expenses (travel, lodging, meals, etc.).

"Note: This pamphlet contains verses of the Qur’an in English and Arabic. Please do not dispose of it improperly.)"

That is absolutely brilliant!

Indeed! Muslims aren't allowed to throw it it away!

@david
careful, we don;t want what happened last time at dearborn. Think they might do same thing again in different method

John 8:24, I would not be anyone's first choice as an out-of-English translator. But if you are stuck, I will have a go at translating into French and German. However, I strongly recommend that you ask native speakers to proof-read my efforts.

Yes, including that caution/note is quite genius! My first thought is that they'll toss the thing before they get to the juicy part. But when I saw the note, I thought, "Ha! Got 'em!" LOL!

David, it must said, deep from my heart, brother, I love you, and Nabil, and Sam, and all who are with you in this "jihad" against the darkness of Islam. May our victorious God keep you all safe and grant you great success in glorifying His holy name alone. Amen!

Thank you David for offering the tract PDFs! We are prayer walking Dearborn the 3rd Saturday of each month thru August and these may prove to be VERY useful. :)
Suggestion - Business Card sized tracts are also useful. Insert in at every gas pump where credit cards are taken.... Everyone needs gas. :)
Hope to meet you, will be there for the entire Arab Festival.

David,
I checked the Bible references on the "Where Did Jesus Say 'I am God, worship me'?" tract and everything checks out. Great references, making use of the Old and New Testaments. Should be a great tract to use in witnessing to Muslims!!!

We read in the Old Testament that Moses always says
"Thus says the LORD God of Israel" when God
gave Moses the law ...

We read in the New Testament Jesus says
"But I say to you"

An example
In Matthew 5:28
"But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust
for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

ONLY God gives the law ...

I think this is very important point to be added to others ...

I speak both German and Spanish, but not fluently. Although my friend speaks both too, and very fluently. Also, I might be able to get another friend to help with French. I'll let you know what I can do.

I have had a go at translating the "deity of Jesus" tract into German. A few comments:

(1) German words are usually longer than their English counterparts, so it will be impossible to fit this amount of text onto one A4 sheet.

(2) There is a small mistake on the link that is the final sentence of the tract. There needs to be a hyphen between "jesus" and "say" or the link will not work.

(3) There is one reference to "Christ". This is probably not appropriate for a Muslim audience. Jesus' role as Messiah is not being discussed here.

(4) I have no idea how to upload the product to this site.

(5) I warn you that it is a long time since I spoke German regularly, and you definitely need a native speaker to proof-read my efforts. I have a friend who might help, but she is busy and I'm not counting on her.

Muslims and Christians agree that Jesus is the Messiah, so it's perfectly appropriate to refer to Jesus as the Messiah or the Christ.

Brother David, what's the email address to contact you. I want to translate this into Telugu- one south Indian language

Diana,

Thanks so much for taking the effort. Please don't yet worry about the size and correctness. I guess it would take a native speaker to go through it again and shorten those sentences before the final version is ready. (There are so many good tracts / booklets in English or in other languages that have not yet been translated. I am actually trying to find a technical solution to make translation easier and quicker! Is there anyone here who would like to team up?)

In the meantime, you could simply upload your word documents to google docs (you need to have either a Gmail account or create a new Google account) and use the sharing option and post the link here.

Can anyone translate in other languages? One language that I forgot to add is Persian. I know that Purple Marquise spoke Persian. But I haven't seen her posts for quite sometime here. I really used to enjoy reading her posts. I hope she is doing fine. Does anyone know her or has her contact? If yes, please contact her and tell us how she is doing!

I just sent an email to my friend in Indonesia. He used to be in a bible college in Singapore, so I hope he can help translate the tracts to Indonesia.

Brother David and team, may God be with you and protect you in this year Dearborn ministry. Our Father will provide you guys with things you need. Thank you for standing up to defend the word of God, and praise be to our Lord.

I've put it here, with some difficulty. Let me know if the link doesn't work.

Praying for your Dearborn Outreah Mission:

"I will lead the blind by a way they do no know, in paths they do not know I will guide them. I will make darkness into light before them and rugged places into plains. These are the things I will do and I will not leave them undone" Isaiah 42:16

"No weapon that is formed against you will prosper. And every tongue that accuses you in judgement you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their vindication is from Me" declares the Lord. Isaiah 54:17

@Diana Just a short note from a German.
First of all: thanks a lot for all your dedication and effort in the translation. This surely was a lot of work!

I am unfortunately right now - like your friend - also too busy to sit down, proof-read and correct.
There still would be some work to be done with the text.

I am saying this by no means to put you or your work down. (I am convinced that the Holy Spirit does not need perfect grammar, words and wording to accomplish His will!) I just wanted to give a short (first impression) statement from a native point of view.
God bless you!

Hi John,

I see that you want these tract to be translated into Malay. I'm half way through but there seems to be a problem regarding the first tract (where did Jesus say, 'I am God, worship Me'?).

The section that talks about "Truth" can't be translated properly because in Malay, the context would be totally different than what the original (in English) intended to convey. This difficulty is due to the translation of the Bible and Quran in Malay.

The word "Truth" in two of the verses ih that section (Pslm 31:5 and Quran 22:6) is translated as "Setia" and "Sebenar-benarnya" which means more to "loyalty" and "the real" respectively.

So, I was thinking of modifying that particular section (like changing the two verses so it will convey the intended context of the original tract). But is that ok for you?
And David, may I edit them a bit so it fits better in Malay?

Brother David, I always have a little money to spread the Gospel in Dearborn (Tracks - Matthew 24 KJV). I will make a Donation today on Christ Jesus' Holy Seventh-day Sabbath. I look forward to seeing 2012 video clips of Dearborn.

There are some minor changes from the original. (see the 'Truth' section).

Hope this would help. God Bless.
