Housewife Dies after Husband's Family Pushes Her off Rooftop

Meanwhile, Muslims in the West are too busy complaining about "Islamophobia" to stand up for the rights of women.

BANGLADESH--A house wife was allegedly killed by shoving her off the rooftop of her in-law's house at Kolabagan of the capital yesterday.

Family members of the deceased, Halima Begum, 20, filed a murder case with Kolabagan Police Station, accusing her husband Saidul Islam, father-in-law and mother-in-law, said Officer-in-Charge Enamul Haque Enam.

He said police recovered the body around 10:30am and sent it to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.

Halima's in-laws claimed that she committed suicide.

Her family members said they married Hamila off to Saidul one and a half years back. Saidul was a drug addict and his family kept that a secret before their marriage.

They used to torture Halima now and then after she came to know about her husband's drug addiction six months into the marriage.

"Even they didn't allow her to meet relatives," said Elias Ali, nephew of the victim.

Halima fell down from the rooftop of the six-storey building around 10:00am, the OC said adding that police had come to know about her husband's drug addiction and in-laws torture in a primary investigating.

The couple had a nine months old baby. (Source)
