Support Dearborn Outreach 2011

Some friends and I will be traveling to Dearborn, Michigan, for an outreach at the Arab International Festival. We're printing pamphlets on Christianity and Islam (including my recent posts "Who Corrupted the Gospel?" and "Who Was Muhammad?"), and we have a team of believers to distribute and explain them. However, costs are high, especially for printing (not to mention travel, etc.). We know someone who can print pamphlets at a cost of $299 for 5,000, or $499 for 10,000. Please contribute as much as possible to support our trip to the festival, as this is a phenomenal opportunity to reach Muslims with the Gospel. (In case anyone is wondering, no one on our end will be profiting financially from the trip. We'll be thrilled if we break even.)

Note: If anyone would like to cover an entire batch of tracts, either 5,000 or 10,000, let me know and I will put you in contact with the printer. You can pay directly via credit card, which means that PayPal and ChipIn won't get a percentage. If anyone covers 10,000 tracts, I will write an entirely new tract (that is, new material will go out to thousands of Muslims).

Interesting video about Dearborn:

But one thing that seems to conflict with what I've heard from elsewhere is that this guy says "most of Dearborn police are Muslims".

Check our recent posts. Higher courts ruled that it was unconstitutional for police to stop people from distributing tracts on public property (something we've been saying all along).

Pastor Jerry Jones is also holding a rally on June 17th. Why don't you two communicate and coordinate with each other?

Tery Jones is coming to Deaborn. And Terry Jones has every right to come to Dearborn, And Teryy Jones has every right to expose Islam for what it is. But is the best course of action? I would hope the Christians who come to Dearborn are coing to preach Christ and him crucified. That is the reason I am coming to Dearborn.

I know James White has said that his outreach to Mormons in Salt Lake City ended because the Westboro Baptist Church came there and made it impossible for Christians to continue evangelism to Mormons in an athmosphere of mutual respect and friendliness.

While Terry Jones isn't as bad as the Westboro Baptist church, and even though you have some (completely undeserved) image problems of your own in the eyes of the Dearborn Muslim community, I think it may well be the case that Jones's presence has a negative impact on the Muslim reaction to what you are doing as well.

Of couse Jones has every right to be there, and it may even be better in view of the long term that the hatred among Dearborn Muslims is exposed (as it probably will be, given how they've previously reacted to Jones's presence). But hopefully he won't be needlessly provocative to the extent that it makes productive ministry impossible on your part.
