Rep. Keith Ellison's Celebration of Taqiyya

Qur'an 3:28 allows Muslims to pretend that Islam is peaceful and friendly, provided Muslims feel threatened or outnumbered. The verse declares: "Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them, taking (as it were) security." Ibn Kathir comments:

Allah said next,

[إِلاَ أَن تَتَّقُواْ مِنْهُمْ تُقَـةً]

(unless you indeed fear a danger from them) meaning, except those believers who in some areas or times fear for their safety from the disbelievers. In this case, such believers are allowed to show friendship to the disbelievers outwardly, but never inwardly. For instance, Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Ad-Darda' said, "We smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them.'' Al-Bukhari said that Al-Hasan said, "The Tuqyah is allowed until the Day of Resurrection.''

How, then, should Rep. Keith Ellison, our first American Muslim congressman, react when Islam's status as a "religion of peace" is under investigation? Why not fake some tears and tell a false story about anti-Muslim bigotry?

NATIONAL REVIEW--This morning, Rep. Keith Ellison (Democratic-Farmer-Labor party, Minn.) appropriated a hearing on Islamic radicalism by weeping his way through a speech about whata-buncha-nasty-bigots Americans are. He chose as his case in point Mohammed Salman Hamdani, a Pakistani-born Muslim American who rushed to lower Manhattan on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, to assist in rescue efforts, and died in the collapse of the World Trade Center. Here’s how Representative Ellison tells the story of the aftermath of his death:

"After the tragedy some people tried to smear his character solely because of his Islamic faith. Some people spread false rumors and speculated that he was in league with the attackers only because he was Muslim. It was only when his remains were identified that these lies were fully exposed. Mohammed Salman Hamdani was a fellow American who gave his life for other Americans. His life should not be defined as a member of an ethnic group or a member of a religion, but as an American who gave everything for his fellow citizens."

Does Ellison’s account check out with reality?

No. It is actually pretty close to the opposite of the truth. In fact, six weeks after the September 11 attacks — before Hamdani’s remains were identified, which Ellison implies to be the turning point of public perception — Congress signed the PATRIOT Act into law with this line included: “Many Arab Americans and Muslim Americans have acted heroically during the attacks on the United States, including Mohammed Salman Hamdani, a 23-year-old New Yorker of Pakistani descent, who is believed to have gone to the World Trade Center to offer rescue assistance and is now missing.” That is, Hamdani was actually singled out for particular high honors among the thousands of victims of the September 11 attacks.

There’s little evidence of the “rumors” of which Ellison speaks, either. Poke around yourself. Go to Google and search for Mohammed Salman Hamdani’s name, using various time frames from before today’s hearings (say, in the week after the September 11 attack). You’ll discover two discordant sets of returns: none for sites and news reports accusing Hamdani of being a terrorist, and many thousands of pages honoring him as a hero while claiming that he was “widely accused” of being a terrorist. So, are you claiming that Keith Ellison is practicing "Taqiyya?" That's pretty outrageous.

If you had actually READ the National Review article in its entirety, you would know that Keith Ellison's statement DO check out with reality. From the Post article, “Missing — or Hiding? Mystery of NYPD Cadet from Pakistan”:

"
His family distributed missing-person fliers in the fear that the 23-year- old, who is trained as an emergency medical technician, went instead to the World Trade Center to help and was killed.

But investigators for the FBI and NYPD have since questioned the family about which Internet chat rooms he visited and if he was political.

Hamdani, a graduate of Queens College with a biochemistry degree, had been in the NYPD cadet program for three years. He became “inactive” because he needed to work full time, his mother said.

Police sources said he hadn’t been to work at the NYPD since April, but he still carried official identification.

One source told the Post: “That tells me they’re not looking for this guy at the bottom of the rubble. The thing that bothers me is, if he is up to some tricks, he can walk past anybody [using the ID card].”

Hamdani’s mother, who has been in the United States for two decades, denied her son was political or a religious fundamentalist. Cops at the Midtown Tunnel reported spotting someone who looked like Hamdani yesterday morning."

A more fuller excerpt from the Post-article: “The NYPD is hunting for one of its former cadets, initially reported missing in the Twin Towers attack, issuing an urgent "hold and detain" order for the Pakistani native.

Hamdani was last seen, Koran in hand, leaving his Bayside, Queens home for his job as a research assistant at Rockefeller University, but he never made it to work.

Ellison claimed that "some people spread false rumors and speculated that he was in league with the attackers only because he was Muslim."

This is absolutely true, based on the very article quoted in the link. Look at the title: “Missing — or Hiding? Mystery of NYPD Cadet from Pakistan.”

Consider what the title explicitly implies: a guy from Pakistan could be HIDING from the authorities due to his possible involvement in the 9/11 attacks. Hence, it is clear that *some* people suspected Mohammed Salman Hamdani of being "in league with the attackers," as Ellison put it.

The question then becomes: was this suspicion based on the fact that Hamdani was a Muslim? Or was it based on honest, good-faith police work which ultimately turned out to be a false lead? Why would law enforcement suspect him at all?

The only conclusion here is the obvious one: law enforcement suspected Hamdani of "hiding" because he was Muslim. Plain and simple. I would challenge anyone here to provide a basis, other than the fact that Hamdani was Muslim, that would justify the NYPD "hunting one of its former cadets" and "issuing an urgent 'hold and detain' order."

He was one of a few, not one of many.

After the "Germans bombed Pearl Harbor" sorry had to give props to John Belushi.

During WW2 the Japanese were faced with a similar problem that Muslim Americans have not yet faced. After Pearl Harbor over 120,000 Japanese American were interned in the US.

Did they cry victimization, did they go and join Japanese Saboteurs and insurgent groups. The answer is NO. Instead they joined the US military.

Where ever they served they served with distinction.

"GO FOR BROKE" the 442nd Infantry(RCT) known as "The Buddha Heads" served with such distinction in the European theater that they are the most decorated battalion in US history.

Compare that with the pitiful showing of Muslim Americans that singed up after 9-11.

Thank God for the patriotic Buddha Heads. When are the patriotic Muslims going to show up?

Highlights from Melvin Bledsoe's Testimony

“I want to talk about those complicity in of private Longs murder. The ISLAMIC RADICALS who programed and trained my son to kill. I want to tell the world what happened to my son.”

Bright future turns into nightmare for a mans only son.

“We sent him off to University, our dream for him turned out to be a nightmare...He helped out with the family business... After his sophomore year”, he came home...a family conversation went from normal to heated regarding the Muslim religion....”we thought something had changed”....after he came home a second time...”he took down all the pictures off the wall in his bedroom”...”even took the pictures of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. He said he converted to Islam, and he would only honor ALLAH...Dr King was nobody to him... We begged him not to take down the picture of Dr Martin Luther King Jr he took it off the wall anyway...We discovered that Carlos had dropped out of school”, he lost his temporary job walking dogs because he “turned the dogs loose in the woods. Because he learned that dogs were filthy creatures...I really couldn’t understand how he could do that because Carlos had grown up with dogs in the house since he was 5 years old.”

“He had no interest in coming home even for the holidays...All this is part of his brainwashing...Carlos changed his name... his culture was no longer important to him...only the Islamic culture mattered to him now.”

Hunters, Yemeni and Jihad training.

“What I can only describes as Hunters”, tricked Carlos into going to Yemin, told him he would teach English, the school turned out to be a intake front for Jihadi's... After being arrested on a Visa charge he is put in a cell with other Muslims “True EVIL DOERS” hardcore Al Quida operatives. “The last straw in his radicalization.”

“There is something wrong with Muslim leadership Memphis, what happened to my son in those Mosques is enormant”...This wrong called political correctness, you can even call it political fear. Fear of stepping on special minority population toes, even when a segment of that population wants to stamp out America and everything we stand for. We are loosing American babies...Yes you are hearing about my son today, but tomorrow it could be your son...one thing for sure it would happen again...We must stop these extremist invaders from rapping the minds of American citizens.”

“Carlos grew up a happy go lucky kid, always had a big smile on his face, loved to crack a joke or two everyone liked him. He loved to play team sports, like basket ball and football. He loved woman and dancing, listing to music

Today we have two families that have been destroyed. This could have been prevented, I would like to see something change, that no other family in this great country of ours has to go through and face what our families are facing today. God Help us, GOD HELP US."

No wonder Muslims don't want this hearing, no wonder terrorist organizations like CAIR are opposed to this. The truth is coming out.

Hello Spencer:

I have noticed that most Muslims when faced with the extremist passages in their Koran do not admit the obvious. They say it says something else.

That is my observation.Hamdani was a good person but I am almost sure that when shown that his Koran advocates extremism he would have refused to face the truth.

So with such a mentality I would not be too surprised if he had later joined a terrorist group. There is always that possibility.

Or if anti-human rights Sharia law were imposed he would have done nothing for the human rights of non-Muslims.That is the most probable thing. That is the reality of Muslims, very few are logical regarding the Koran,Islam.I know that mentality.

minoria,

You appear to be suggesting that Islam endorses terrorism and terrorist attacks. Can you show this to be true? Can you give an Islamic-based justification for the 9/11 attacks? Can anyone?

Anonymous said...

Hello Spencer:

In 1 case yes I can.Remember the dozens of Westerners decapitated by Al-Qaida?

That is terrorism,at least on this side of Flanders, but not for Ben Laden. The specific way a certain passage in the Koran is worded actually lets Al-Qaida behead those non-Muslims in Iraq.

Read it in the antisharia.com article, about sura 5:33-34:

http://www.antisharia.com/2011/02/14/how-cutting-the-heads-of-western-hostages-is-justified-by-al-qaida-using-koranic-citations/

minoria,

I'm not convinced. The passage refers to those people who "wage war against God and His Messenger." The victims of 9/11 were innocents, many of whom were Muslims. Although I don't know the context of the verse, nevertheless, it is clear that the passage does not justify the indiscriminate killings of innocents (i.e. those not at war).

Spencer, with all due respect how do you not acknowledge, that this statement:

"Cooperation for the sake of truth and righteousness is demanded from Muslims. A Muslim should do his utmost to cooperate with his fellow Muslims. But Allah says of cooperation that it is not absolute for there is cooperation to do good, and there is cooperation to commit aggression and act unjustly. A Muslim is supposed to give his fellow Muslim guidance and support. He (Allah) said "Stand by your brother be he oppressor or oppressed." When asked how were they to stand by him if he were the oppressor, He answered them, saying "by giving him guidance and counsel." It all goes to say that Muslims should cooperate with one another and should be supportive of one another, and they should promote righteousness and mercy. They should all unite in the fight against polytheism and they should pool all their resources and their energy to fight the Americans and the Zionists and those with them. They should, however, avoid side fronts and rise over the small problems for these are less detrimental. Their fight should be directed against unbelief and unbelievers. (Osama bin Laden; John Miller et al)

--is not in religious compliance with this:

" Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Hello Spencer:

The context of the article I wrote was not the 9/11 event. It is about Irak and non-Muslims.Irak was invaded for 2 reasons:oil and to topple Saddam in order to have a better government.Saddam had killed 300,000 of his own people.

He was first supported by the US because he was the lesser evil,it was hoped he would topple Khomeini(the Iran-Irak war of 1980-1987) that killed 1 million.Toppling Khomeini would stop the Islamic revolution from spreading. At least it contained it.

The US army was supposed to stay for 2 years and then leave, nobody expected suicide bomber after suicide bomber (more than 600 now). The Westerners who were kidnapped were just ordinary people, innocent people, who were working for an international company.

The question is:"Is Ben Laden sincere in believing the US in Irak is an oppresor?"

The answer:Yes.
So sura 5:33-34 means those Westerners (for us innocent people)who were beheaded are enemies.

You will find very few Muslims who will say, even those who are against Ben Laden:"It is ok for the US to be in Irak, the US is not an oppresor."They all say the contrary.

Those Muslims who are against the US in Irak but condemn Ben Laden's decapitations do not see their position is unkoranic.I repeat unkoranic, because by logic the decapitations are justified by the Koran...if you take the position the US should not be in Irak.

You might say:
"Ben Laden kills Muslims also, alot more."

For Al-Qaida,a Sunni group, the 100,000 Shiah's they have killed are enemies of Muhammad and Allah since they have corrupt teachings, they are a mockery of Islam, heretics.By logic sura 5:33-34 will justify killing them.

It is strange but that shows the truth of the saying:"One man's terrorist is another man's holy man/freedom fighter."

Taqiyya is such an evil concept that it ranks next only to Jihad. Deception or Intentional lying is sanctified by the hateful teachings of Mohammed and as a result it’s difficult to judge what is being told by believing Muslims. For instance, a suburban Buffalo man, Muzzammil Hassan, is now behind bars after he is tried on charges of beheading his wife. Ironically, he founded a cable TV station in 2004 to promote better understanding of Muslims in the U.S. He did this with the ostensible intention that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light. Like most devout believers, he promptly played the victim card after killing his wife by portraying the dead victim as aggressor and a nagging bully. Thus, he was in Taqiyya business from 2004 till the end of his trial.
Similarly, Anwar al-Awlaki who was viewed as a valuable liaison to the Muslim community and a potential investigative source is now turned out to be more dangerous than Bin Laden. Before absconding, this radical spiritual leader linked to several terrorist acts on US soil, was a guest at the Pentagon as a trusted spiritual leader! This is Taqiyya business of high class.

Once in a while, some bold and fanatical ones do tell the truth. The Fort hood shooter, Nidal Hassan, was very honest in his prior pronouncements. His truthful statements sounded so perplexing and outrageous that his confused and politically correct higher authorities would not have prevented him from committing the massacre even if he openly announced the date of his Jihad attack! It's very difficult to identify Taqiyya and the West will continue to face it till it fails to identify its root.

It will not be a great surprise that Mr. Keith Ellison may turn out to be a totally different person in future. It's quite possible that his dramatized weeping may be a set up and stage managed as part of Taqiyya. If it's so, it qualifies as a noble and great service to the advancement of Islam by a devout Muslim according to its ideology. This takes us nearer to the root of the problem.

Congressional hearing on radicalization is almost useless as it will not address the root. Soft and polite symptoms chasing approaches like this will only help Muslim radicals, naïve liberals and leftists to call it as misguided and bigoted by creating confusion and commotion. It's incorrect to think that an entity called moderate Islam co-exists along with radical Islam. There is only one Islam and it's defined by the Koran and the Hadiths. The hateful teachings contained in these so called religious texts are unambiguous. Supremacist status, partiality to men and the hateful teachings against unbelievers are all part of brainwashing to wage Jihad where its followers are commanded to go after the so called unbelievers.

Jihad and eventually ushering in Sharia is almost akin to achieving salvation in Islam indicates the levels of despair and perversion such a concept can create in the unfortunate believers. Majority of Muslims are peace loving in spite of these hateful teachings. This in itself is their biggest contribution to peace. Expecting them to take on radicals is foolish because there is no religious, spiritual or ideological basis in favor of peace loving Muslims to silence the radicals. The devout can easily prove the peace loving Muslims as Apostays or bad Muslims who are likely to rot in hell for their un-Islamic thinking or behavior! Thus, true Mohammeden Islam is deadly to the peaceful living of majority of Muslims as well as all non-Muslims.

A solution is possible only when these teachings go on a trial. The participants must be scholars for and against in the presence of a high power political committee to finally arrive at the root cause. The threat posed by Islam is real and unending. It's a question of where and when. If the trial to identify the root can’t be done, it's better to keep quiet and face the inevitable as and when it matures in to an existential threat. Then, the price to be paid will be very huge.

Well fine, Spencer, you aren't convinced; but apparently Osama Bin Laden is convinced, because otherwise, why would he say so?

You asked any one of us for evidence that 911 was justified by Islam, and your brother, Osama Bin Laden gave you one.

Actually he gave you more than one. He gave you five, and I am sitting here counting them

1 Cooperate for the sake of truth
2 Support your brother whether he is the oppressor or the oppressed
3 "Show support and mercy"
4 Unite in the fight against polytheism
5 fight against unbelief and unbelievers.

This is a quote from Bin Laden about 911! If you want some more quotes from him about 911, just ask.

Spencer said...

Donna60,

What Bin Laden believes or says is irrelevant. If he believes Islam justifies the indiscriminate killings of innocents (including Muslims), and his belief is wrong, then his belief obviously cannot support the claim that Islam justifies the 9/11 attacks.

My concern is with the claim that one can give a *plausible* Islamic-based justification for the 9/11 attacks. Again, what one adherent of Islam says is entirely besides the point.

Spencer, Mr. Bin Laden had a religious justification for attacking America. Listen to Osama:

"And I will talk to you about the reason for those events, and I will be honest with you about the moments the decision was made so that you can ponder. And I tell you, God only knows, that we never had the intentions to destroy the towers.

But after the injustice was so much and we saw transgressions and the coalition between Americans and the Israelis against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, it occurred to my mind that we deal with the towers. And these special events that directly and personally affected me go back to 1982 and what happened when America gave permission for Israel to invade Lebanon. And assistance was given by the American sixth fleet.

During those crucial moments, my mind was thinking about many things that are hard to describe. But they produced a feeling to refuse and reject injustice, and I had determination to punish the transgressors."

That is exactly what Muhammad taught:

"And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah"

See, America is allies with Israel, and we were cruelly persecuting poor little Lebanon, and so we had it coming to us. Who is obeying Muhammad,-- you or Mr. Bin Laden?

Look, if you don't like the teachings of Muhammad, we will be very happy to have you at the Metro Church of Christ this coming Sunday.

"I would like someone to show me where in the Quran justifies the indiscriminate killing of innocents--including both Muslims and non-Muslims. Can anyone do this?"

First what is your definition of innocence? Is someone innocent of a capital crime if they speak out against someone or something? Even if it is in a insulting way or even if it is perceived as persecution?

Is someone innocent of a capital offense if they refuse to worship another persons religion?

Is someone innocent of a capital crime if they insult a prophet?

Is someone innocent of a capital crime if leave a religion?

Is someone innocent of a capital offense if they right poetry about someone even if that poetry is offensive?

Is someone innocent of a capital crime because they commit sexual sin?

So again I ask you, what is your definition of innocent when it comes to killing?

Spencer, let's quit beating around the bush here, because the fact of the matter is that Mr. Bin Laden has concluded that Americans are not innocent, and you know it.

So who defines "innocence" in Islam? According to Mohammad, polytheists aren't innocent.

If I call Jesus the Son of God, I am not "innocent"

Surah 3:151 " We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve because they ascribe unto Allah partners, for which no warrant hath been revealed. Their habitation is the Fire, and hapless the abode of the wrong-doers.

If I should try to convert you to my Heavenly Father, I am not innocent.

Surah 4:87-89 "Allah! There is no Allah save Him. He gathereth you all unto a Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt. Who is more true in statement than Allah? What aileth you that ye are become two parties regarding the hypocrites, when Allah cast them back (to disbelief) because of what they earned? Seek ye to guide him whom Allah hath sent astray? He whom Allah sendeth astray, for him thou (O MUhammad) canst not find a road. They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,

Mohammad made it crystal clear that a vast majority of Americans aren't innocent, and even Muslims who befriend them aren't innocent.

Now let's be perfectly clear. There are enemies of God on this earth, and the bible defines them, but God also made it perfectly clear that He would do his own fighting.

Christians aren't allowed to take vengence. We aren't even allowed to judge another person as worthy or unworthy of the gospel. Not only are we not permitted to decide who is and isn't "innocent" We have to spread the gospel to every man on earth. We invite: the Holy Spirit convicts. We have to love all men. We have to pay for missionary work with our own money, energy, and efforts. We have to pay for our works of charity with our own efforts and work.

I got an e-mail from church this morning telling me that the church was sending money to churches in Japan;- don't forget to bring my check-book. And that will be beyond what I normally give. I will be giving more for a special collection for the Japanese.

For Pete's Sake! the purpose of the church, as defined in the book of Revelation is to invite!

You can stand here all day long and claim that you believe me to be innocent, but your leader said differently. You might decide not to kill me, or want me dead, but Mohammad didn't!

And the fact of the matter, is that when you try to defend Americans from what Mr. Bin Laden did to us, you are essentially still allowing yourself to kill some people--people who you deem as "not innocent." So you are still putting yourself out there as Judge, Jury, and Executioner of "uninnocent people."
