Without serious debate or examination, the Los Angeles City Council recently passed a resolution that opposes "Islamophobia" and "repudiates" random acts of violence against Muslims.
This admittedly ceremonial resolution apparently accepts the premise that residents of the city commit acts of hate against Muslims so often that it warrants an official resolution from city leaders condemning and repudiating these acts. Is this really the case?
According to the latest hate crime report from the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations, 88 percent of all religiously based hate crimes in 2009 were against Jews. Hate crimes that targeted Muslims (3 percent) ranked slightly above those directed at Scientologists (1 percent). In fact, the commission found that attacks against Christians (8 percent) outnumbered attacks against Muslims.
In any case, the actual number of reported hate crimes based on religion is quite small. In a county that has more than 10 million highly diverse residents, only a total of 131 crimes based on religion took place in all of 2009. Of course, this in no way takes away from the emotional or physical harm that each and every one of these attacks causes.
Since only 3 percent of 131 hate crimes during 2009 was directed against Muslims, it's difficult to understand why city leaders would pass a resolution that zeroes in on the category that has the next-to-lowest numbers recorded by the County's Human Relations Commission.
It appears that the City Council simply took information provided by an advocacy group, one that's hardly unbiased, and uncritically spat out a resolution opposing "Islamophobia" and "random acts of violence against Muslim-Americans." (Read more.)
Since the city council is condemning bigotry, I wonder why they don't address some of Muhammad's claims:
Sahih Muslim 33—It has been narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and they establish prayer, and pay Zakat and if they do it, their blood and property are guaranteed protection on my behalf except when justified by law, and their affairs rest with Allah.
Sahih Muslim 4366—It has been narrated by ‘Umar b. al-Khattab that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.

Satan has people in government helping him too. He hates Christians and Jews and wants us all dead. He has blinded people to what he is doing too. Not all people who consider themselves Christian are.
I think this is a pretty good thing, to some extent. Since it seems like Islamic radicalism is on the rise, and probably will result in more hostility toward Muslims, it's best to try to prevent future hate crimes against moderate Muslims. Repeated and public condemnation of such attacks would be helpful.
But seriously, where's the resolution opposing "Judeophobia"????
I'm not really surprised that after jews, we Christians are on the receiving of hate crimes. I expect it's going to rise, because our God and Savior said that we will be hated by ALL nations for his sake.
However, Christians who are persecuted for Christ's sake are considered blessed (Matt. 5:10-12).
The Los angles city councilors are not naïve and stupid to come out with an unprovoked and unwarranted resolution that is down right insulting and provocative. It must be the handwork of petro dollars being liberally used by stealth Jihadists. The easy Oil money is not only used to fund terrorist activities but also used for stealth Jihad activities like building huge Mosques, buying support and influence so that the political correct attitude of elite continue to fool the masses by refusing to identify the real enemy – violent and hateful teachings of Islam that is the root of all problems. In fact, more money and effort is put to hide the threats posed by the dangerous cult mentality of Islam that literally drives the devout to insanity. Instead, its visible symptoms like terrorists and terrorism is being used as a red rag to divert the attention from the root of the problem. The sure and best way is to spread more and more lies that support the great lie that Islam is a religion of peace. Result? Stupid and laughable resolutions like the one released by the gratified city councilors of Los Angeles
