Only in Michigan!

Michigan Woman Faces Civil Rights Suit For Seeking Christian Roommate.

Only in Michigan do you see innocent Christians who seek to live out their due freedoms getting slapped with jail time and lawsuits!

A civil rights complaint has been filed against a woman in Grand Rapids, Mich., who posted an advertisement at her church last July seeking a Christian roommate. "The ad expresses an illegal preference for a Christian roommate, thus excluding people of other faiths," according to the complaint filed by the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan. "It's a violation to make, print, or publish a discriminatory statement," executive director Nancy Haynes told fox news. "There are no exemptions to that." Haynes said the unknown 31 year old woman's case was turned over to the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. Depending on the outcome of the case, she said, the woman could face several hundred dollars in fines and "fair housing training so it doesn't happen again." Read More.

I read that on Fox News. It is quite obvious that Christians are under attack by the government. How much you want to bet that if some Muslim wanted a Muslim room mate that nary a word would be said.
The state has no business telling people whom the can live or not live with.

Your right only in Michigan.

I see fliers all the time @ my college campus of people looking 4 roommates specify what they r looking for, including beliefs! And no body seem 2 have problems w/ it.

If America doesn't wake up to this then i don't even want to say what will be awaiting them. *Sigh*

What kind of insanity is descending on your country? This is getting pretty scary. Only reveals the danger of these secularistic liberal governments, yeah sure, freedom and equality, bah!

Would the same apply to gender, I wonder. What, say, some Muslim male students were looking for another room mate, would they be prosecuted for requesting male applicants only?
Or would they allow females to apply but let them down easy!

Hmm, would it also be "discriminatory" for a woman to post an ad about seeking a female roommate?

That is ridiculous. Next they will tell us that you have to live with a peadophile if you have kids otherwise it is discrimination. It is so wrong! Why shouldn't you be able to choose who you live with.

Almost anything is possible, like the case of PETER KREEFT,the Catholic Christian(once a Protestant)who wrote the famous "Between Heaven and Hell",about an imaginary conversation in purgatory between Kennedy,Lewis and Huxley(who all died on the SAME day in 1963).(written in 1982)

In his book ECUMENICAL JIHAD(1996).There he says:"the VERY SAME GOD we worship in Christ is the God the Jews—AND THE MUSLIMS—worship" (p. 160).

It is "What Christians Can Learn from Confucius, Buddha, Muhammad, and Moses."

Here Kreeft tells of an out-of-body experience (OBE) he claims he had while surfing off Hawaii in the wake of Hurricane Felix. Kreeft says a wave broke over him and he nearly drowned. His mind left his body, and he experienced not heaven, but PURGATORY(p. 96)

He said:"Whether what I experienced was Heaven or earth, I cannot say. Whether it was real or unreal, objective truth or subjective fantasy, I cannot say. All I can say is that it was certainly truer, incomparably truer, than the chapter I was planning to write. That's why I threw the old one away" (p. 86).

In his OBE(out of Body Experience)he goes to"the outskirts of Heaven, the place you call Purgatory" (p. 96). Here he encounters and converses with Confucius, Buddha, Muhammad, and Moses, all in succession.

Kreeft says GOD says to him, about Mohammed: "He will teach you the heart and soul of all true religion" (p. 98).

He wrote:"I turned the conversation to another point. "Are you a Christian now or a Muslim?"

He gave what seemed to me an evasive answer: "Why do you say 'or'? How can one be a Christian without islam to the one God?"

Because I thought his answer evasive, I challenged him more directly. "If you come from Heaven and not from Hell, what do you say to this?" And I whipped out my Rosary and held aloft the crucifix, as I would to Dracula. To my wondering eyes, Muhammad fell to his knees and crossed himself. My response was the only possible one: I bowed the knees of my mind to the words of a man who had bowed his knees to my Lord and His Mother . . .. (pp. 99-100)."

I really do not think Mohammed made it to the outskirts of heaven(purgatory)or that God actually gave his approbation.

As I said before,he is very intelligent, and he knows there is a possibility the NEPs and so on can be tricks of the mind when you die, mere biochemistry, that is why he was ONLY interested in the out of body experiences that could be VERIFIED.

Where he continues praising Mohammed is:"Between Allah and Jesus:What Christians can Learn from Muslims":(2010).Kreeft was a teacher of ROBERT SPENCERand they will have a DEBATE on ISLAM soon, and needless to say ,Spencer disagrees with his teacher.

This is a follow on the Fox News story.

It would also appear that the person filing the complaint is a Muslim. At least the last name is Khan and that usually is a Muslim name.

If he state is allowed to get away with this the Ynites States is done like a dinner

Just argue that living with another Christian is a health issue. They can't prevent you from asking for a roommate without cats if you are allergic to them, can they? How can they argue against trying to prevent damage to your immortal soul? What's next: monks and nuns have to allow anyone to live in their monasteries and convents?

Unless the ad said something insulting like, "I would prefer a Christian roommate because everyone else is the scum of the earth," then I honestly don't see what the problem is. I would never think someone was being discriminatory if he or she wanted a roommate of the same religion; in fact, that would probably never cross my mind.

Hopefully, the woman won't have to pay the fines.

So NPR can fire Juan Williams in defiance of freedom of speech.
Since when does the 1st Amendment protect living arrangements?
I hope this case is laughed out of court. And I think there should be more roomate adverts that specify religions. There is nothing wrong with it. It represents no hatred at all.

IF you dig a bit more into the story you will probably find CAIR behind it.

Just who do they think they are? This is a clear violation of this woman's First Amendment rights, both freedom of speech and freedom of religion. If she wishes to advertise a desire for fellowship with another Christian through the process of rooming with one, who are they to tell her that she cannot? They have no business whatsoever to dictate to her, how she may or may not practice her Christian faith.

What is this about "fair housing training so it doesn't happen again"? They want to try to force her to believe that public expression of her Christian convictions, is wrong? This is another undeniable violation of her rights. That sort of fascism does not belong in America!

I pray that this charge will be dropped; it is disgraceful!

I find the whole thing ridiculous,it makes one sick.
I would also like to state that we must not forget to pray for SHAFSHA and WILL who are in need of our support. They are going through a less than ideal time.
Please,less us not forget them.

Also remember Mary Sharp's ministry, that she needs some financial aid for the coming 3 months. To help,if one can, just go to and CLICK on the word BLOG.
She is writing a book, maybe it will be about Islam.

Unknown to me,for those who have read a bit of in English, like GreekAsianPanda,I have found out that you can READ the articles (and to a certain extent, the comments in FRENCH)by CLICKING on the word TRANSLATE.

If you look WELL,you will see the word TRANSLATE at the BOTTOM of the FRENCH ARTICLE,and at the BOTTOM of every COMMENT.

CLICK and you will see several OPTIONS(English,Spanish,Filipino,German,Italian,Hebrew, etc).Choose English and the translation is GOOD.

Thanks for the info about Shafsha and WILL. Yes, they are in my prayers.

It is so good to hear from you again! Thank you for bringing this news to all of us, that we can uplift this Michigan lady (and continue to uplift you) in prayer. What an absolutely absurd situation. May God be glorified in all of this in SPITE of the enemy's evil intentions.

Hello Everybody,

I have good news, Islam is finished!
Yes you heard right, Islam is finished. The only thing needs to be done for us to keep informing ppl about the real islam and also about the only true way which is Jesus Christ.
I live in berlin, germany and yes the media and the goverment are still promoting islam as the religion of peace, just like the usa goverment does these days, BUT the ppl dont listen anymore.
There is a statistic from germany (august 2010), it says that 87% of all german citizen do reject islam and think islam is to blame for the arabs & turks not integrate well in germany, when at the same time other ethnic groups seam to have no problems integrating into german society.
After that statistic was released it seams that muslims more and more give up the taqiija technique and being more open, showing their true colours and that eventually will be the death of the westerized islam.
In germany we have similar stories, just like that christian women in michigan and that puts ppl off in the west, with that and of course with the help of our lord Jesus Christ we will overcome the islamic thread in the west, but we must now start to take care more of our bretheren in islamic countries. Our christian brothers and sistern are being slaughtered as we speak and we need to get them out of there, we need to pray for them, we need to inform the puplic and we need to take actions. I personally try to help a christian family, I cant give more details. I suggest everybody should help one way or the other and if possible take action themslefs, because we will be ask one day "where were you when I was in need"?
God bless you

Peter from Berlin

Not only should the case be laughed out of court. Those who brought the charges should be fired.

I just wanted to mention: This is not Michigan law. It's federal law that they claim they are enforcing. Michigan law would not forbid the bulletin board notice. Evidently the idea is that the Michigan Civil Rights Department enforces federal law in this area. I would imagine other states have similar agreements. So actually, it could very easily happen somewhere other than Michigan, unfortunately.
