Special News Bulletin: Acts 17 on Hate Crimes

It has come to light that perhaps the New York City cab driver's stabbing was not as closely linked to hatred towards Muslims as was initially propounded by virtually all media outlets. Regardless, our position towards attacks on Muslims is the same: stop attacking Muslims!

Both of you were funny. I hope you keep experimenting with skits and humor. Serious skits, or mixes of humor and seriousness, could be great too.

If either of you play instruments or sing, or know musicians, why couldn't that be brought into it, too, comedically or otherwise...

It could be wonderful if Nabeel could somehow bring his medical background into the humor. Some sort of mock operation on David, or the Qur'an, or something, with surgical instruments and so on...maybe brain surgery on the Qur'an...

Use all your resources, your whole being, to bring your message, experimentation is good...

I liked the use of the tag line about Aisha at the very end. One could develop various tags...

You could do a non-comedic, serious, imagination-oriented skit with David or Nabeel in debate with figures currently on the world stage or from history. For example, one of you could be a sort of spiritual secret agent, who somehow ends up in the Iranian parliament, and when the Ayatollah enters, everything grows strangely dark, or the atmosphere and setting changes in some strange way, and Nabeel or David or both have a dramatic debate with the Ayatollah...or something...

Even if you did not want to portray Muhammad, since you might think that a gratuitous offense, you could perhaps portray his voice speaking in various kinds of skits...for example, perhaps the Ayatollah could fall on the floor of the parliament, and then get up and start channeling Muhammad's voice...some in the parliament could cry "Blasphemy!" at this...etc.

Better yet: since you are experts on the early Islamic documents, perhaps you could have several people in the fictional Iranian parliament collapse and start channeling Muhammad's companions, and then a group of parliamentarians and the Ayatollah channel a debate between Muhammad and his companions...

But my mind runs away with me. Enough. The possibilities with you guys are large...

Have you ever read the following Christian-oriented fiction of C.S. Lewis (most of it written for adults)?

1. The Pilgrim's Regress
2. The Perelandra Trilogy
3. The Great Divorce
4. Narnia Chronicles

They could be a mine of brilliant inspiration for serious or comedic skits, not that you need any inspiration...

A final note. One thing I think is sometimes good is to at least hesitate about repeating a pattern (in this comedy video you repeated a pattern thrice, which perhaps was comedically justifiable). If one doesn't yet know where to go next with an idea, it's best to let a skit be however short it wants to be, rather than draw out or repeat the good ideas one has. Less, of course, is often more.

Excellent! I hope you keep growing in your God-given potentials.

YES! What Yohannes said! HOO HAH! This is too wonderful! And my man, Nabeel: Lookin' for all the world like "Acts17-Rage-Boy" (as opposed to "Islamic-Rage-Boy"). (but I LOVE the message....)

AND, AND! That wonderful voice-out at the end: oh YEAH! Go, NABEEL! GO, DAVID! (I wish I knew of a way to hook you guys up with the folks over at Latma TV...)

All I can say is MORE! MORE! MORE!
ROFL! KAFIR AND PROUD & Laughin' Out LOUD! MAY JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISED!!

Is that Perry the Platypus on your t-shirt, Nabeel?

Apparently. We initially just thought it was a duck, but regardless, its conveyed emotion is 100% appropriate :-)

You know what...just burn the Qrawn, and if they want to fight, then we fight. I am sick of pandering to Muhammadans.

The shirt is probably the most perfect part of this. What a find!

To go on what Traeh was saying, they could use the Tisroc (may he live forever) instead of actually Muhammad. I still find the role of the Tisroc to be absolutely hilarious, and it kinda stinks more people haven't read a 'Horse and His Boy'. I think it's telling that Lewis was as much of an inclusivist as he was and still portrays Islam in the way that he does.
