Loving Muslims, Challenging Islam: A Response to Dearborn Mayor John O'Reilly

The City of Dearborn came after us with everything they had. There were no rules for them. Integrity was not a concern. Now that they failed in their malicious prosecution, the city has continued its campaign of slander and libel. Dearborn Mayor John O'Reilly summed up their claims about us nicely in the Detroit Free Press:

"It's really about a hatred of Muslims. That is what the whole heart of this is. ... Their idea is that there is no place for Muslims in America. They fail to understand the Constitution."

Based on the one-sided coverage of the Detroit Free Press, it's obvious that the City of Dearborn has a major media outlet in its pocket. Oh well. We've got YouTube!

John O'Reilly should really resign from his position as Mayor. He isn't a good politician and I think this little incident which happened on June 18th (wow, it's been that long?) will put the final nail in the coffin to his career. I also pray that Negeen is acquitted of disobeying an order from the police officer as well.

What do you think David?

I don't think the Mayor realized exactly what he was getting himself into. Did he do any research at all on David and Nabeel? My guess is no even with the vast amounts of information about Acts 17 on the net before the Arab Fest incidents.

Even the prosecuting attorney seemed to be lacking easily accessible information (re: Richard Valencia's job as a Security Officer) during the trial.

Thank you for doing your 'homework' David and Nabeel. I can't wait for the Civil Trial. What a legacy you'll leave!

Your message falls flat when you allow worse personal insults than "rag head" and "camel jockey" to be posted on this website (against the Muslims you profess to love).

David another great video but O'Reilly is a polaticain and need to keep his job the same way Pilate need to keep his job. Maybe in the future we can call Mayor O'Reilly Pontius Pilate O'Reilly.

"Raghead" and "camel jockey" are derogatory terms not exclusive to Muslims. If you want to be offended for Muslims, you should be offended by the "burn Qur'ans" bit.

Anyway, here's the transcription of David's statements where he mentions them:

"...Third, you can get angry at Muslims, and burn Qur'ans, and say that we should nuke Mecca, and call Muslims names, like 'raghead' and 'camel jockey'. That's the position the mayor apparently attributes to us, but that's the position we're trying to keep people away from."

See the context?

They allow worse personal insults than that against themselves to be posted here as well. So what does that show?

Thicker skin is generally preferable to tight censorship rules.

Hello David:
I used the information you gave in the video for an article in French on Mohammed, that he would be convicted of hate crime according to Muslim criteria. It appeared today in
Thanks for the info.

I have been going a bit through for new information, only some 10% is against Christianity,90% against the existence of God.

Atheism in essence is that there NO LIFE after DEATH.But if one looks as the verifiable experiences of Near Death and after death experiences one sees that there is reasonable evidence that it is so.

GARY HABERMAS,a name I mentioned before, researched for 10 years and got 100 medically attested cases.Like of a man who had a heart attack, was in the hospital. He said his spirit went out of the hospital, and he saw:

1.A car accident that took place 300-400 feet away.
2.He told the COLORS of the cars.
3.The KIND of cars,by what company,I think.
4.He said a woman was in one car.

They verified, checked the police report and it was shown that 20 min after his heart attack it had happened. There was no way he could have known it unless he was there.Habermas says the skeptics refuse to confront such evidence, certainly the atheists do.He wrote a book in 2004 "Beyond Death"with J.P.MORELAND
See his lecture on the subject:

So if you have good reason to believe there is life after death then the RESURRECTION of a man from DEATH 2,000 years ago is NOT impossible.Skeptics say "Extraordinary Claims require Extraordinary Evidence".Well,it turns out ordinary evidence(100 cases) is really enough.

An outstanding video.

You say that you want Muslims to come to the United States, so they can see what it's like to live in a society where sharia, or its ethos, is not operative.

As you know, some in the Islam-critical movement want to limit or stop Muslim immigration to the U.S. Most of those critics are not haters, but merely people trying to protect civil liberties and basic human rights from being eroded by an increasing Muslim presence and the intimidation that goes along with that.

Robert Spencer has mentioned immigration limits, and so has Andrew McCarthy. Sometimes the limits people propose would only apply to sharia-espousing Muslims. Sometimes the limits are broader and would cover all Muslims. Various proposals have been made.

I am interested, David, in whether you also think Islamic immigration should continue into Europe. As you know, Europe is fairly rapidly trending majority-Muslim. Surely a good argument can be made that to continue to allow Muslim immigration into Europe would be suicidal for Western culture there? And if the West dies in Europe, the U.S. may not be able to stand alone. I believe that was part of Mark Steyn's case.

To limit Muslim immigration certainly need not mean that one hates Muslims. How will it help Muslims if the free nations of the world go under?

Very interested in your positions, as I can't say I feel settled about these matters. But I'm troubled by your complete openness to further Islamic immigration, and wonder why you feel so sanguine about that...I would like to feel as relaxed about it as you seem to feel.

I've read that physicians have recently been trying to go beyond the extensive anecdotal evidence and conduct serious controlled studies designed to test whether, for example, clinically dead patients can sometimes see objects that would only be visible to someone hovering near the ceiling of the operating room...the tests would be so-called double- or triple-blind studies, to eliminate the possibility of cheating or self-deception in the experimenters.

Hello Traeh:

Thanks for the information. There is something additional. As I said before GARY HABERMAS was NOT interested in NON-VERIFIABLE assertions, only in what could be proved. So since we can't verify if the tunnels, light, angels that people say they saw really exist OR IF they are the product of BIOCHEMISTRY in the BRAIN then Habermas did not take it into account.

Believe it or not, there are even cases where people say they got out of their body and saw X person next to his body(like a RELATIVE or a TEACHER or FRIEND).When it was verified it was found X friend, teacher, relative was NOT there.

It can happen that the brain produces HALLUCINATIONS where people think they got out of their body and had X experiences(not true). But Habermas only acccepted evidence that could be verified. An he found 100 cases in 10 years.

In his book "Life after Death:the Evidence" he says it is true that different people said they nearly died or died and saw MOHAMMED or KRISHNA or JESUS.He said that did not mean they did not see a FIGURE,but each interpreted it according to his or her cultural ideas. It could be or it could be,as the skeptics say, that the BRAIN produces those images based on one's beliefs.

For an atheist, the evidence that something got out of a physical body(a spirit?a soul?)and saw and heard things outside of the hospital operating room that it was impossible(even if he had been wide awake). Can you see or hear what they are doing a block away, with your eyes closed? No.

Here we see something that, for an atheist and us,enters into the domain of RELIGION.And that is in essence a negation of atheism.

From Sahih Muslim, a canonical hadith collection
Book 024, Number 5279:

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The bell is the musical instrument of the Satan.

In Sahih Bukhari, the most canonical hadith collection:
Volume 1, Book 1, Number 2:

Narrated 'Aisha:
(the mother of the faithful believers) Al-Harith bin Hisham asked Allah's Apostle "O Allah's Apostle! How is the Divine Inspiration revealed to you?" Allah's Apostle replied, "Sometimes it is (revealed) like the ringing of a bell, this form of Inspiration is the hardest of all and then this state passes ' off after I have grasped what is inspired. Sometimes the Angel comes in the form of a man and talks to me and I grasp whatever he says." 'Aisha added: Verily I saw the Prophet being inspired Divinely on a very cold day and noticed the Sweat dropping from his forehead (as the Inspiration was over).

Abu jahl said to them: "Muhammad alleges that if you follow him you will be kings of the Arabs and the Persians. Then after death you will be raised to gardens like those of the Jordan. But if you do not follow him you will be slaughtered, and when you are raised from the dead you will be burned in the fire of hell." The apostle [Muhammad] came out to them with a handful of dust saying: "I do say that."

minoria, you're welcome.

I went and watched some of Habermas on youtube talking about near death stuff. Fascinating.
