Thank you so much for posting this. I was a former church worker in Iran for nearly a year in 1973 and 74. Later my wife and I worked with Iranian refugees fleeing these brutal "bastard" who are in charge. I heard the stories of the brutality that the "shariah" courts are inflicting on the people of this lovely country.

Please please continue to post videos like this to show the people in the West what Islam is all about.

In closing I can only say that true liberation comes through the proclomation of the Gospel and the saving work of the Lord Jeus Christ.

All because of one man,Ayatollah Khomeini. In his 10 year reign(1979-89)he killed 100,000 people for religious-political reasons. It's like this:those who opposed him opposed the REGIME of ALLAH,the Islamic state, they were evil.

While we have:
1.Spanish Inquisition:4,000 dead in more than 300 years.
2.Portuguese Inquisition:1,200 dead in over 250 years.
3.Medieval Inquisition:2,000 in over 250 years.

Even adding the 50,000 killed for witchcraft(25% of them MEN) from 1450-1750,300 years, all for following a Mosaic Law(EXOD 22:17:"you will not let the witch live.")when Christians are not under Mosaic law,it still is 40% less than the 100,000 killed in a mere 10 years.

Mr. Wood,
I thought people were not permitted to post foul language on your threads.
Simon said;"...these bastards are trying to take over the world". Why is he calling me a 'bastard trying to take over the world'? I get it - He's trying to show me how much he loves me, right? My parents are both practicing Christians. My father is a Christian preacher and elder of the Church. Despite our many disagreements, my parents do not use this language to describe me or my brothers from the local Masjid. My mother has eaten with the women from our Masjid and has been present during Muslim family events. Although my mother disagrees with Islam and grieves over my decision to become a Muslim, she didn't see 'bastards trying to take over the world'. She saw families not too different from the ones at her church. Oh, yes. I know that Simon ended his post with; "I understand there are Muslims who also have no knowledge about the Qur'an and they need to be taught and understand what their religion teaches them". I absolutely agree with him on this. Muslims should know the Qur'an, and they should know their Deen. May Allah guide us (Muslims) in Islam. Ameen. I also pray that the men who raped this woman should be brought to justice and punished. Ameen.

Allah knows BEST, Yusuf

Will Islam take over the West?If it does the West will become third-world,bringing China down, which needs commerce with a healthy Western economy.
Only when the West is third-world will the peoples of France,Germany,Italy, the US,etc finally really analyze and learn about the Koran and Islam:like sura 18:86 saying the sun sets in a muddy spring, etc.
About the hadiths with "kill apostates",etc.
No longer would the media use the word ISLAMOPHOBIA(ideas) as though it were the EQUIVALENT of judeophobia, homophobia(real persons).
Common people would complain at such intellectual illogic, such deceit. In fact they would be FURIOUS at the intellectual deceit of Western "experts" of the pre-Islam era in the West who used the word Islamophobia as meaning muslimophobia.

KHOMEINI
Talking of him again,he was undeniably sincere. His Islam is not the same as that of Yusuf Hamza's.He also "discovered" some 4 THOUSAND new hadiths that justified his actions, before his time nobody knew they had existed.

@ Minoria:

Tafsir Ibn Kathir says:

His traveling and reaching the Place where the Sun sets (the West)

[فَأَتْبَعَ سَبَباً ]

(So he followed a way.) Ibn `Abbas said that he followed different routes to achieve what he wanted.

[فَأَتْبَعَ سَبَباً ]

(So he followed a way.) Mujahid said that he followed different routes, east and west. According to one report narrated from Mujahid, he said:

[سَبَباً]

(a way) means, "A route through the land.'' Qatadah said, "It means he followed the routes and landmarks of the earth.''

[حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ مَغْرِبَ الشَّمْسِ]

(Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun,) means, he followed a route until he reached the furthest point that could be reached in the direction of the sun's setting, which is the west of the earth. As for the idea of his reaching the place in the sky where the sun sets, this is something impossible, and the tales told by storytellers that he traveled so far to the west that the sun set behind him are not true at all. Most of these stories come from the myths of the People of the Book and the fabrications and lies of their heretics.

[وَجَدَهَا تَغْرُبُ فِى عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍ]

(he found it setting in a spring of Hami'ah) meaning, he saw the sun as if it were setting in the ocean. This is something which everyone who goes to the coast can see: it looks as if the sun is setting into the sea but in fact it never leaves its path in which it is fixed. Hami'ah is, according to one of the two views, derived from the word Hama'ah, which means mud. This is like the Ayah:

[إِنِّى خَـلِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَـلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ]

("I am going to create a man (Adam) from dried clay of altered Hama'h (mud)) [15:28], which means smooth mud, as we have discussed above.

*This response is in regards to your comments on Suratal Khaf 86.

Take care, Yusuf

@ Simon:

Paijo Budi is right. I have no intention of taking the spotlight of this thread off the pain and suffering of this young woman. Insha'alaa (All-Mighty God willing), try asking me whatever personal questions you like on another thread.

Sincerely, Yusuf

Yusuf,

Regarding Surah 18:86-

Why is it that Tafsir Ibn Abbas says about this verse: "(Till, when he reached the setting place of the sun) where the sun sets, (he found it setting in a muddy spring) a blackened, muddy and stinking spring; it is also said that this means: a hot spring, (and found a people thereabout) these people were disbelievers: (We said: O Dhu'l-Qarnayn!) We inspired him (Either punish) either kill them until they accept to believe that there is no deity except Allah (or show them kindness) or you pardon them and let them be."

I find it suspicious that the meaning of the Quran changes when people's knowledge of the world around them increases. I guess it just took a few hundred years for the exegetes to learn that it's impossible for the sun to actually set in murky water, and when they figured this out, the "inimitable" Quran changed its meaning right along with human knowledge. What new things will we learn in the coming century that will cause Muslims to radically reinterpret the Quran so they can keep calling it a "scientific miracle"?

The other problem is that 'allegorizing' that verse violates the context of the subsequent verses. Read through up to verse 93 in Tafsir:

"(Then he followed a road) toward the East. (Till, when he reached the rising place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no helper therefrom) these people had no shelter to protect them from the sun, they had no mountains, trees or clothes. They were naked creatures who were blind to the Truth. (So (it was)) just as he reached the West, so did he reach the East. (And We knew all concerning him) We knew what he had of information and exposition. (Then he followed a road) he set out towards the East, to Byzantium. (Till, when he came between the two mountains, he found upon their hither side) between the two mountains (a folk that scarce could understand a saying) from other people."

These are all literal places, with literal people, and literal things. This whole passage is describing the exploits of a great warrior. There is no evidence of allegory anywhere. I find this to be a problem in light of the fact that Muslims constantly claim the Quran is scientifically accurate.

By the way, have any Muslims found the giant brass wall built by Alexander that Surah 18:95-100 says is supposed to exist until the Day of Judgement? Surely this must be one of the 8 Wonders of World. Please tell us kuffar where to find it so we can organize some tourist excursions.

Hello Yusuf:
The tafsir was interesting but the problem is it uses the word "spring".A spring is a water that comes out of the earth,it is SMALL.You can see it all.The tafsir you gave said it meant a SEA.
But in 3 out of 4 Muslim translations it says "spring",not "sea".SHAKIR says "black sea".It's obvious he knew the implication.

AGAIN
A SPRING is small area of water,it's not a never ending SEA,where you don't see the END.

TAFSIRS
That of IBN ABBAS,TABARI and Al-JALALAYN all say it refers to a SPRING,not a SEA or OCEAN.Only IBN KATHIR's Tafsir says the Arabic word for spring has to refer to the Sun setting in an ocean/sea.

Again,a spring is small, you can see it all,it's just some water that comes out of the earth.

NOT CONVINCED
Ok,one of the BIGGEST springs in the world is BIG SPRING in MISSOURI,it goes 1,000 feet (300 mts)till it joins a river.

1 MILE=5,280 ft, 1000ft=0.19 mile or about FOUR CITY BLOCKS.You can see the end by sight.

"The tafsir you gave said it meant a SEA."

Where does it say that in the tafsir I gave?

[وَجَدَهَا تَغْرُبُ فِى عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍ]

(he found it setting in a SPRING of Hami'ah) meaning, he saw the sun AS IF it were setting in the ocean. This is something which everyone who goes to the coast can see: it looks AS IF the sun is setting into the sea but in fact it never leaves its path in which it is fixed. Hami'ah is, according to one of the two views, derived from the word Hama'ah, which means mud.

I was thinking a bit more about about the "spring in 18:86"issue.I did research to find the BIGGEST ones in the world, there's another in Florida.

TWO-HORNED
He traveled somewhere in the MIDDLE EAST.Some Muslims say he is CYRUS,the founder of the Persian Empire that lasted 200 years till destroyed by Alexander.

There are no BIG springs in the Middle East. You can easily see the beginning and END of them.

ARGUMENT of Muslims
It's "he reached the setting-place of the sun"=he reach the WEST(since the sun sets west).
So 2-horned went WEST till he found WATER and there he saw what APPEARED to be the SUN SETTING in the HORIZON of the WATER.("and he FOUND it SET in X water.")

BUT...

The problem is that it says SPRING and there are no gigantic springs in the Middle East where you will have the OPTICAL ILLUSION of"look, the sun is ENTERING the water far away."

It would have to be the BLACK SEA(which extends for HUNDREDS of miles),but a sea is not spring.
