VideoBlog #8: The Dangers of Preaching a "Peaceful" Version of Islam

ISNA 2009 was a prime example of Muslims preaching peaceful messages, despite the clear teachings of the Qur'an, Sirah literature, and ahadith. But why should I, as a non-Muslim, be upset when they do that? This video explores the three problems with the "Peaceful" Islam approach.

It appeared to me the different versions of Islam you encountered were reflective of the different stages of jihad. In Dearborn you were in what could be considered a muslim country and sharia compliant. At the ISNA conference in Washington D.C. not so much. The Islam in Washington D.C. is comfortable for the west and indeed it is what we want to see. The reality however is that the Islam in Dearborn is the real Islam. Wake up America

I agree - what happened in Dearborn is more reflective of Muslim comportment throughout Islamic countries. The ISNA Islam seems to be a westernized, palatable version of the true Islam.

That's what Walid Shoebat, the ex-PLO terrorist, now Christian, says. He's in youtube. It comes in stages. And what surprises me the most is none of the Muslims who participates in this blog has yet said(though I hope they will) that they are 100% for non-Muslim-style freedom of religion with no "ifs, buts or maybes".

Not only here in the non-Muslim world but also in the Muslim world. It's 8 days and more than 64,000 hits on the Arabfest incident.Wow!As the saying goes "you've made it!"

Great speech, Nabeel. Thanks to David for stopping by my blog as well. I've been sharing some of your videos here and there. As a Soldier, I see the national security problem of these Dearborn Muslims infiltrating into this country. Like you, I have no problems with a peaceful Islam, but you make great points about what would happen when/if a peaceful Islam takes over. I also agree, as a Christian, that we should attempt to convince Muslims about Christianity just as much as Muslims are trying to convince us about them.

Hello Nabeel:

Have you seen the movie "The Stoning of Soroya M"? Really, I'm surprised it has not been quashed yet in this country. I just saw it two days ago. A very graphic no holds barred depiction of a woman's stoning in Iran. I urge EVERYONE to see it while it is still available. Satan is alive and well and uses Religion for his purposes.....to steal, kill and destroy.

I love your work. God Bless you. Where can we send a check not via Pay Pal. God Bless your London debates.

Hello CoramDeo:

I've heard about the movie, but I haven't seen it yet. Other than a vivid stoning scene, what's in it?

Please email me at nabeel@acts17.net, and I will send you the address at which you can email me.

God bless you, friend. In Christ,
-Nabeel

Re: The Movie..."The Stoning of Soroya M"....... You ask....."other than a vivid stoning scene, what's in it?....

You won't find an intellectual debate in this movie.....It's only the raw stuff of human flesh.....passion, lust, greed and murder. We Christians believe in the Christ who took on flesh...Yet without sin....He became incarnate, and then suffered a bloody death to pay the debt for our sin.

"The Stoning of Soroya
M" is primitive village life set in contemporary Iran and filmed in the strikingly beautiful mountainous deserts of Jordan. A true story.

Stranded in a remote Iranian village, Sahebjam (A journalist)
is approached by Zahra, a woman with a harrowing tale to tell about her niece, Soraya, and the bloody circumstances of her death the day before. Her story exposes the dark power of mob rule, uncivil law, and the lack of rights for women. Her last and only hope for justice lies in the hands of the journalist who must escape with the story - and his life - in order to communicate the violence to the world.

The book tells the true story of one of the victims of stonings in modern Iran. Soraya M.'s husband Ghorban-Ali was an ambitious man, prone to rage with a lust for power. He wanted out of his marriage. When Soraya began cooking for the widowed husband of a friend, he found his excuse. Abetted by village authorities, he accused his wife of adultery. She was taken away, buried up to her shoulders and neck in the ground, and then stoned to death.

Author
The son of a former Iranian ambassador, French journalist and war correspondent Freidoune Sahebjam was the first to report on the crimes of the Islamic Republic.

Keep up the good work portraying the gracious, perfect salvation offered to muslims by the Incarnate Holy One, Jesus Christ.

I disagree with what seems to be the main point of this post. I believe that salvation through trusting in Christ's sacrifice on the cross is the only way to heaven (I'm confident you and David agree). Thus, the danger posed by Islam being a false religion is infinitely worse than it's dangers of violence. I believe there is great value in what you're doing by pointing out the inconsistencies and contradictions of Islam as part of defending the faith. "2Co 10:5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ"
May God bless your ministry and lead you on in proclaiming the gospel.
