The Islamic Dilemma

Hello everyone! Sorry for the dearth of posts recently, David and I have been extremely busy here in Michigan with the outreach to Muslims.

Below is a training lecture from Sam Shamoun on the topic of "The Islamic Dilemma". It concerns Islam's view of the Bible. Watch it for some excellent points!

More than excellent.I didn't know till just now that in the original Arabic the Koran says Jesus and the "Torah between his hands".That changes everything. That is why it is best to read a translation by a non-Muslim.That took me by surprise 100%.

Then there are 2 passages in the Koran where Allah prays upon Mohammed.Muslims say it really means "Allah blesses Mohammed".But that doesn't convince a non-Muslim much. How is God going to pray(ask somebody for something)? To who?

On top of that is the "Does the Koran have anything to do with terrorism?" debate. The terrorists use a logic to convince. If Nabeel Qureshi still believed in the Koran they would say:"The Koran says to fight if there is agression. There is,the US supports Israel, which kills innocent Muslims. The US has invaded Afghanistan and Irak, agression against Muslims."

If one where to say:"But civilians are innocent," the reply would be:"They know 100% what is going on and they don't care about the agression. They are not innocent."And to the question:"But what of real innocents that should get killed by us:babies and adults who are fighting US agression? What if they get killed unintetionally?" The answer:"Do not worry,in that case they will go to heaven."

On top of that there is the wedding feast in heaven promise, for married and unmarried Muslim men, that they will have houris. That is why when Muslim men die in the shahid operations, many families have a wedding celebration. And also in the Koran martyrdom is the 100% way to get to heaven. For many Muslims such a logical argumentation is convincing. That is why one can kill or arrest 100,000 terrorists and another 100,000 are ready to take their place.

Great arguments. By the way Sami, those articles from Bassam have already been refuted at AI.

The incapacity to presente the argumentes here in a blogg where they can be refuted and simplie redirecting to another page is a pale example off the totalie inhabilitie to defende a position when itt can bee debated... to sad...

Zataari,

I am at loss as to how the list of articles on your website related to the Qur'anic confirmation of the Bible provides anything that supports your case. Firstly they reveal no evidence to support this modern muslim myth of Bible-corruption, secondly, the articles appear desparate, thirdly, when you have read them, you ask yourself: 'so what was the evidence the muslim exclaimed he possessed'?

The articles are certainly of no comparison to the articles of Sam Shamoun and Silas on the matter.

The Qur'anic confirmation of the previous revelations proves to be one of the most dreaded topics among muslims, I would call it the definite deathsting of the muslim faith.

I cannot remember at the momemt whether it was Tabari or Kathir who found some of these passages utterly disturbing (correct me if I am wrong or misrepresent either of them here).

Oh Hogan, You know what hit me the other day when I was listening to the prophet of doom mp3s? In Tabari’s Takrit Muhammad tells Zayd bin Thabit to study the books of the Jews. You know what Muhammad is reported to have said why Zayd had to do that??

“I fear they may change my Book”.

He is referring to the book of the Jews here. Now if Muhammad feared that the Jews may change their Book and therefore told Zayd to study it, then it would stand to reason that Muhammad thought the book of the Jews was NOT YET CHANGED! Tabari confirms that! It would make absolutely no sense for Muhammad to tell anyone to study a book out of fear that it might be changed while it was already changed. Conclusion is that it wasn’t changed and there are ample references to this regard, both from Islamic sources as well as from historical sources.

Even if the Muslims were right about complete "corruption" of our Scriptures, I still don't see how this helps them at all.

I can't imagine any Muslim who would say the corruption happened against Allah's will, that would make human will more powerful than Allah. That leaves them with the following to deal with:

1) the Bible was allowed to be corrupted by Allah

2) the Bible contains promises that it will stand as the word of the Creator for all time

3) the Quran contains a promise that it will stand as the word of the Creator for all time

4) if the promise was broken in the Bible, it can most surely be broken again in the Quran

So even if the Muslim claim is correct, haven't they simply proven Allah can't be trusted and his Quran can't be guaranteed to stand forever?

Are there verses later in the Koran that abrogate the verses in Chapter 5, verses 45-47, justifying their murder and attacks on People of the Book?

Christfollower8344, you asked:"Are there verses later in the Koran that abrogate the verses in Chapter 5, verses 45-47, justifying their murder and attacks on People of the Book?"
The answer is YES.Sura 9:29 "Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and his Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture. - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled."
This goes against the Suras which tell the Muslims that the People of the Book who follow it will be elevated status above all others.
