Muhammad on Personal Integrity

Sunan An-Nasa'i 3818--It was narrated that Adiyy bin Hatim said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever swears an oath, then sees something better than it, let him do that which is better and leave his oath.'"

Sunan An-Nasa'i 3810--It was narrated from Abu Musa that the Prophet said: "There is nothing on Earth that I swear an oath upon, and I see that something else is better, but I do that which is better."

"Muhammad" & "integrity" are contradiction in termes...

I think Al Tabari 6:111, would also have been quite applicable here. I'd be interested to know if there are any other sources that follow this narration. I wonder if Muslims would excuse Mohammad's lies because of the black magic he was subject to. Hmm, not likely. They'll probably just call all of these sources weak.

What a great moral example.

By the way, are you going to upload your new debates soon?

coming from the "great deceiver," be that mohammed or uthman (who can truly know?), breaking your word seems almost inconsequential when taken in the light the darkness (is that oxymoronic?) which is mohammedanism. the deceit practiced by the "moderate" mohammedans, e.g., the buffalo beheading of Aasiya Z. Hassan by her "moderate" mohammedan husband, to name just one, the outright hate-filled and genocidal speech of the imams and mullahs in the arab world, i do not expect truth, integrity, forthrightness, or transparency of intent, to be a part of their behavioral skill set.

you can lead a mohammedan to water, but he'll try to kill you and claim it as his.

just an aside,,, in my musings i often wonder who indeed wrote the koran??? was it uthman, aisha??? mohammed could not read or write is the lie about him, and we know that allah only exists in the cancer laden hearts of the submitters,,, so, speaking of personal integrity, why won't the mohammedans look at the facts and run from that God-forsaken and satanically inspired deceit set??? just musing

Peace, in His love

We have Muhammad to thank for those gems. Do I detect a dash of humanism in his words? Hmm.

I'm seeing a lot of pent up anger that US has against Muslims. For the record, I'd like to say that I do not hate Muslims. I think some of them are deceptive and murderous, but I think most of them really aren't.

Yes, the religion does seem to teach deception and destruction, but people's attempts to argue that it's not deceptive or destructive testifies to their relative goodness.

So, I love Muslims. As far as Islam is concerned, if it were peaceful, I'd have little problem with it. I don't think it is, and that's why I argue against it.

Nabeel, I too don't hate Muslims. The bible teaches us to love our enemies.

You're right that Islam is a very violent religion and thus a great problem.

However I would still point out that even if Islam were a peaceful religion, I would still have a big problem with it, because it lies about my God and His word. It teaches that a sin can be cancelled out by a "good" deed. It makes Jesus Christ to be a liar by denying His crucifixion. It is the spirit of anti-Christ by denying God's coming in the flesh. There are too many problems I have with Islam and violence is just one of them.

Supposing Islam "cleaned up its act" on the violence front, I would still be very motivated to expose what an evil religion it is, it just happens that the violence of Islam is what motivated me in the first place to actually examine what it teaches.

But again, I don't hate muslims. It's just their religion I have big issues with. The first victims of Islam are the muslims themselves and I pray that the Lord will shine on them and bring them out.

Royal Son--

I agree that Islam is an affront to the truth, that is why I would still have a problem with it (though that problem would be way less than it is now.)

But let's say Islam did clean up it's act, as you say. Then we have a false religion that isn't violent. But we've got tons of those! I don't argue against zen buddhism or taoism, or even hinduism. When it comes to false religions, instead of focusing on them, I argue for the truth of Christianity.

But you are right, now that I think about it. Islam is a different case. It is a religion that traps people and brainwashes them against the truth. That does set it apart from other false religions. And now that you've mentioned it, that is the real reason why I argue against Islam.

Thanks for straightening me out, RS! Haha. Good lookin' out. God bless,
-Nabeel

The early Muslims were known to borrow and islamise themes from the bible.

Maybe the hadith is a borrowing and islamisation of Jesus' teaching on oaths in Matthew 5:33-34:

33 Again, (AS)you have heard that the ancients were told, '(AT)YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FALSE VOWS, BUT SHALL FULFILL YOUR VOWS TO THE LORD.'34"But I say to you, (AU)make no oath at all, either by heaven, for it is (AV)the throne of God,

Thus in Islam, it is Muhammad (and no longer Jesus) who gives a teaching on oaths, except that instead of replacing the old law for something greater, Muhammad is made into someone who lacks integrity.

God bless you brother Nabeel. We are members one of another. I think one of the debates I was most impressed with was your debate with Shadid Lewis where you gave substantial reasons for why you left Islam. That debate really motivated me to search out what Islam teaches. I was particularly interested in the point about the four teachers recommended by Mohammed, two of whom had differing numbers of surahs in their Qur'ans compared to Zaid's version of 114. Islam dares to question the reliability of the New Testament we have today and yet has a mountain of problems in its own back yard.

God bless you brother. Much grace to you.

The Torah ? Corrupted, except for the part prophesying Mohammed
The Injeel ? Corrupted, except for the parts prophesying Mohammed
Hadiths showing Mohammed as a monster? Fabricated
Hadiths supporting those hadiths? Weak
Song of Solomon ? Pornographic except for the part that prophesies Mohammed.
124,000 prophets of old ? There messages are all lost. Allah knows best.
Surahs from the Quran teaching violence? Abrogated.
The Surahs eaten by a goat ? This is Christian and Jewish propaganda.
Mohammed ? A true prophet indicated by the the scriptures from before, Allahu Akbar!

I see nothing wrong with Mohammad's integrity. None at all. (Deuteronomy 18:20, Al Tabari 6:111)
