Wafa Sultan on the Status of Women in Islam

Let me predict the Muslim response. "But we can call her a liar and a hater of Islam; therefore, we can dismiss everything she says."

I think a better response from the Muslims would be "She is a woman, and her testimony is worth half that of a man's, and therefore who cares what she says when we have men who say otherwise!"

She sounds like Answering Islams Audio Cd,
Thank God she has been refuted by brothers such as Bassam Zawadi,
Sami Zaatari, Ossama Adbullah.
Alhamdullah.

This woman speaks of her PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and you claim that Bassam, Sami and Ossama refute her experiences?

how?

The Islam here in the West is white-washed. The real Islam which exists outside of the West is where women truly suffer.

Hahaha. If you really think that Zawadi, Zaatari, and Abdullah refuted anything on Answering Islam then clearly you are beyond hope and truth doesn't concern you. You would rather continue living and believing a lie, a false god and an immoral man who ran around pretending to be prophet than embrace the truth and escape your darkness.

Anyone who thinks those three have refuted anything IS AS STUPID AS THEM. Sorry but it's true. Christians don't like saying the truth harshly, I DO.

In fact anyone who does or has written for Answering Christianity.com I find are consistantly the worse writers ever produed, it's really just a competition of whos worse. I think Osama ranking no.1 then possibly Zaatari.

btw David, you should create a thread:

"Who is the worst Muslim Apologist?" Then give some criteria and see who fits what.

Me personally, I think Nadir Ahmed is one of the better ones, but I know hes at the top of your "worst" list.

I think hes entertaining, I literally cannot stop laughing when I see him on video, his voice tone combined with his body language and extreme arrogance narracism is EXTREMELY hillarious. In terms of pure entertainment he passes!

Osama would have to take no.1 on my list, 1)he can't write well 2) a poor speaker (stumbling etc) 3) he doesn't understand Christianity OR Islam

Also I frequently find Muslims will call people "liars" if one chooses not to believe the Quran contains science, sometimes i'm called a "hater" for pointing out this.

Thus any Muslims (such as Osama) who uses this term frequently is not very well educated, it really does effect on the education in my view.

Well, if entertainment is a criterion, then I would say Nadir must be the greatest Muslim apologist in history. (Anyone who's been around me when I visit Nadir's site can testify to the fact that I find him absolutely hilarious.)

Well David, imagine a BORING, SHY Sam Shamoun. Imagine a Bill Craig who did not come across with assertive cocky/confidence in his "rebuttal periods".

I think personality/presentation skill should definately be PART of the criterion, and ESPECIALLY in terms FOR Muslims, Zakir Naik and Ahmed Deedat are so powerful in this respect for Muslims that they have won EVERY DEBATE.

Remember this is an "apologist" criterion, not an "argument alone" examination that i'm suggesting.

Michelle Qureshi said...

Zakir Naik has won every debate he's ever had? You mean he has won both debates he's had.

As far as I know, he's only been in two debates, but I'm no Naik expert. Can someone tell me if he's had more?

Lol! So true David. Watching Nadir is like watching what a Saturday Night Live skit of a Muslim apologist would be. :-D

He's done like 4 debates. For someone who is so popular and prized by Muslims as being such a great debater you'd think he would have done a little more than 4. What's funny is that all 4 opponents, for the most part, had little or no reputation (although to be fair, he did try to debate the Pope, which is a step up I suppose lol). When I think of Christian debaters like William Craig who has done well over 70 debates (with most of his opponents having a considerable reputation) it just puts Zakir Naik to shame. Naik has a long way to go, which brings me to DK's post:

I agree. I would love to see a post on this with the reasons behind each choice. Nadir Ahmed, I'm guessing, would be near the top. And I'm guessing Shabir Ally would be at the bottom or perhaps not even on the list. Someone should also do a list on Christian apologists, because we do have a few bad ones as well.

I recently read Wafa's book--what an eye-opener. I have gone beyond the text of her book to validate the information that she presents. I am amazed at how many people in the Christian community, haven't a clue!

This explains my experience in a Middle Eastern market about 2 years ago....the man at the counter saw my lovely daughter and asked if he could "send" her to Jordan to meet his nephew!! I was aghast and frightened by this suggestion. Behind the counter on a shelf was a copy of the Koran and a book entitled "Why I Hate Women"....duh...as if I would EVER think of sending my beloved girl away. I realized that because women are devalued, his suggestion probably seemed like a great kindness in his own mind. My own daughter traded off to a stranger?
