Al-Qaeda #2 Atiyah Abd al-Rahman Killed in Pakistan
Given the billions of dollars the U.S. has spent keeping Pakistan on friendly terms, it's amazing how many al-Qaeda terrorists are living comfortably there.
FOXNEWS--Al Qaeda's No. 2 leader, Atiyah Abd al-Rahman, has been killed in Pakistan, a U.S. official tells Fox News.
Al-Rahman was a Libyan national who was considered Al Qaeda's operational leader before rising to the No. 2 spot following Usama bin Laden's death in May.
Al-Rahman's death is a big blow to the terrorist group and comes as U.S. officials have said in the aftermath of bin Laden's killing that a few more high-profile deaths could break Al Qaeda's back.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, says al-Rahman was killed Aug. 22 in the Pakistani tribal region of Waziristan. That's the same day a US drone strike in Waziristan.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said last month that Al Qaeda's defeat was within reach if the U.S. could mount a string of successful attacks on the group's weakened leadership.
"Now is the moment, following what happened with bin Laden, to put maximum pressure on them," Panetta said, "because I do believe that if we continue this effort we can really cripple Al Qaeda as a major threat."
Since bin Laden's death, Al Qaeda's structure has been unsettled and U.S. officials have hoped to capitalize on that. The more uncertain the leadership, the harder it is for Al Qaeda to operate covertly and plan attacks. (Read more.)

California Events--Financial Support Needed
We only ask when we really need it.
The tenth anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks in U.S. history is approaching. Sam Shamoun and I will be speaking at a series of events in California. We'll be having a small conference, several church events, outreach training, and debates. (I'll have the schedule posted shortly.) We have one plane ticket covered, but apart from that, we need to raise funds to take care of the costs. Please chip in if you can.

Former Muslim Tortured in Asylum Center . . . in Norway
Of course, Muslims in Norway are now free to torture all the apostates they want. No one's going to make a fuss. After all, anyone who objects to torturing or killing those who leave Islam must be a racist, Islamophobic bigot. People who criticize Muhammad's teachings are no better than the terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.
NORWAY--At Hå asylmum centre, "Ali" had boiling water poured over him after converting to Christianity and not fasting during Ramadan. Now he and other converts fear for their lives.
"If you do not return to Islam, we kill you," was the message "Ali" got from other Muslims at the Hå asylum centre. He does not wish to have his face or real name published, out of fear of the Muslims at the centre. If Afghan authorities come to know about his conversion, he risks the death penalty by stoning if he is sent back to his home country. (Read more.)

State Department Report: 11,500 Worldwide Terrorist Attacks in 2010
Before you read the results, care to guess where most of these terrorist attacks occur? Alaska? Norway? Mississippi?
On Thursday, the U.S. Department of State released its annual, U.S. Congress-mandated Country Reports on Terrorism 2010, an assessment of incidents and trends in international terrorism that occurred between January 1 and December 31, 2010.
The statistics revealed that more than 11,500 terrorist attacks occurred in 72 nations during 2010, and there were more than 13,200 deaths attributed to terrorist attacks.
Besides filling a Congressional requirement, this analysis is aimed at enhancing Americans' understanding of the international terrorist threat.
The report focuses on policy-related assessments, country-by-country breakdowns of foreign government counterterrorism cooperation, and contains information on WMD terrorism, State Sponsors of Terrorism, Terrorist Safe Havens, and Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The report also includes a statistical annex prepared by the National Counterterrorism Center.
Although the number of attacks rose by almost 5 percent from the previous year, the number of deaths declined for a third consecutive year, dropping 12 percent from 2009. For the second consecutive year, the largest number of reported attacks occurred in South Asia and the Near East, with more than 75 percent of the world’s attacks and deaths occurring in these regions. Answering Islam--August 24th Update
Apart from Sam Shamoun's brain, the greatest resource on the planet for refuting Islam and defending Christianity against Muslim objections is the Answering Islam website. Here are the latest articles:
Samuel Green reflects on the Muslim letter titled "A Common Word" and suggests issues that should be discussed between Christians and Muslims. Who can claim to be a Prophet? by Dallas Roark, and The Historical Case for Paul's Apostleship by Keith Thompson. Sam Shamoun presents Jesus Christ – The One Lord Revealed in the Old Testament Scriptures (Part 1, Part 2, Addendum), two rebuttals to Dr. Jamal Badawi: (1) Satan In The Upper Nose, (2) Dr. Badawi Proves That Allah Exists As A Limited Physical Being, a two-part rebuttal to "Question Mark": The Lord Jesus Christ - the Divine Judge of All Creation and Islam's Unholy Alliance, and finally a rebuttal to Bassam Zawadi: Exposing More of Zawadi’s Inconsistency and Dishonesty. Masud Masihiyyen's two-part article From Jonah to Pharaoh?: Part I: What was the Sign of Jonah?, Part II: What was the Sign of Pharaoh? reveals a surprising connection between the sign of Jonah in the Bible and the sign of Pharaoh in the Qur'an, and refutes an alleged Qur'an miracle as a side effect. His article, Islamic Dishonesty At Work! is a rebuttal to another pseudo-miracle claiming that the Qur'an reveals the rotation of the Earth. Jochen Katz looks at the same alleged miracle in Harun Yahya’s “Science” Fiction – Part 2: Clouded Mind Dawah exposing the enormous amount of scientific falsehood that Harun Yahya managed to cram into the few lines of his version of the miracle. “Don’t Shoot Us, We Are Just the Messenger” by Anthony Rogers and Sam Shamoun discusses yet another grammatical mistake in the Qur’an. The revised Training Materials by G. Nehls and W. Eric are now also available online: Part 1: Islam: As It Sees Itself - As Others See It - As It Is, Part 2: Christian-Islamic Controversy, Part 3: Practical-Tactical Approach.
Robert Spencer: N.J. Murder the Latest Outrage in the Islamic Blame Game
Muslims take advantage of the Islamophobia myth in various ways. Groups like CAIR attempt to insulate Islam from criticism by screaming "Bigotry!" at anyone who dares challenge Muhammad's commands to murder, rape, and subjugate non-Muslims. The media are all too happy to give Muslims the platform after every terrorist attack (in order to reduce Islamophobia, you see), so ABC, NBC, and CNN end up becoming tools for Islamic dawah following incidents of Jihad. Now, it seems, Islamophobia is being used to throw off police when Muslims commit crimes. Just point a finger at Islamophobes, and you might get away with murder.
Human Events--On Friday, a young Muslim man in New Jersey named Kashif Pervaiz was charged with the murder of his wife, Nazish Noorani, who was shot dead Tuesday night while pushing her 3-year-old son in a stroller on a street in Boonton, N.J.
Although the case apparently has nothing whatsoever to do with jihad terrorism, Islamic honor killing, or any such matter, it has been illuminating of the Islamic supremacist strategy to suppress free speech about Islam and jihad in the U.S. today.
Pervaiz, you see, was walking with Noorani when the shooting took place. He had allegedly set up the whole thing with his accomplice mistress, a Boston woman with whom he apparently shares an apartment. And according to the New York Post, Pervaiz initially told police that “three men, one black, one white and one of an uncertain race, called the couple terrorists before opening fire.” That was enough for police to investigate the possibility that the shooting was an anti-Muslim hate crime—that is, until Pervaiz began changing his story, and began to emerge as a suspect.
Islamic supremacists never miss a chance to position Muslims as victims so as to deflect attention away from jihad terror and try to place Islam and the Muslim community beyond reasonable scrutiny. And so even as Pervaiz was starting to equivocate and spin ever-taller tales, the blame game began. I received a tweet from a certain Jawad Rasul, containing a link to one of the initial stories about the murder: “If you have any humanity, you might ponder over this!” Meanwhile, a well-placed source told me that Ibrahim Hooper of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was “salivating and waiting to jump all over” the Noorani murder story. “They are waiting to blame you for everything.” (Read more.)

Ground Zero Mosque Funded by Insurance Fraud?
Ground Zero Mosque developers have been scamming Americans by claiming that the mosque won't be a symbol of Islamic triumphalism and that Islam is a religion of peace. Why not scam Americans for money as well?
NY POST--The self-proclaimed leading moneyman behind the Ground Zero mosque ran a $5.1 million insurance scam that cashed in on car-accident injuries, a lawsuit alleges.
Hisham Elzanaty, 52, ran the "highly developed and sophisticated kickback scheme" for years, Allstate Insurance claims in a federal suit on Long Island.
The scheme routinely submitted inflated medical bills to Allstate and involved illegal fee-splitting, court papers say.
Allstate claimed that Elzanaty fraudulently incorporated medical professional corporations in The Bronx -- which were then used to bill the company for care of patients involved in wrecks.
The operations were fraudulent because Elzanaty is not a licensed medical professional, as required by law, court papers say.
Elzanaty did not return requests for comment. (Source)

David Letterman Responds to Muslim Threats
Comedy Central backed down when Muslims issued death threats over Southpark's attempt to poke fun at Muhammad the way they poke fun at everyone else. David Letterman seems to be standing his ground after receiving death threats due to some jokes about al-Qaeda.
UK Muslim Students Demand Interest-Free, Sharia Compliant Student Loans
Ever notice that the demand for "religious tolerance," when coming from Islam, always means special treatment for Muslims?
Sharia doesn't allow interest on loans. In the name of "tolerance," UK lenders are being told that they must respect Islamic law, and give Muslim students interest-free loans. But this simply means that Muslim students, unlike all other students from all other religions, will get a better deal on their loans. So for the sake of equality, lenders must treat students unequally.
And yet, when American legislators attempt to pass laws guarding the U.S. against Sharia, the world assures us that Sharia is simply a set of guidelines for Muslim living that couldn't possibly have an impact on non-Muslims.
Welcome to the real world.
Imagine that. Poor fella has to adapt to the system of the country he's living in! Will the Islamophobia never stop?

Daily Mail--Muslim groups are calling for a separate student loan system because the interest due to be charged will conflict with rules of Sharia law.
The changes to tuition fees, which come into force next year, will see students charged higher rates of interest on the loans they take out to pay for university.
Until now they have paid the market rate of inflation but the reforms mean students who go on to earn more than £21,000 will have to pay interest of up to 3 per cent.
But in some interpretations of Sharia law, which is Islam's legal system and governs every aspect of Muslim life, loans are forbidden.
The National Union of Students has said it could be two years before an alternative system is worked out, leaving some Muslims fearing they cannot go on to further education.
The Federation of Student Islamic Societies told The Independent that the rate increase was a 'pressing issue'.
A spokesman said: 'Because the rate of interest is above the rate of inflation, it is quite blatant usury.'
Usury means the practice of lending money and charging the borrower interest, possibly at a very high rate.
Mohammed Ahmed-Sheikh, 17, says the changes will discourage him from applying to university next year.
'The fees are the reason I'm having doubts. I'm Muslim and loans are against my religion,' he told The Independent.
Ahmad Mitoubsi, 21, who graduated this year, added: 'We've just had to adapt to the British system or else I couldn't have gone to uni.' (Read more.)

Islamic Circle of North America Calls for Government Action against Critics of Islam
Have you ever noticed that many Muslims and Muslim organizations from around the world work towards the same goals, but by different means? Muslim nations pressured the United Nations to take a stand against "defamation of religion." The goal? Keeping people from criticizing Islam. Muslims killed people after Rushdie published the Satanic Verses, and after a Danish newspaper published cartoons of Muhammad, and after Terry Jones burned a copy of the Qur'an. The goal? Keeping people from criticizing Islam. CAIR routinely labels anyone who opposes Sharia as a hate-mongering, racist, bigoted Islamophobe. The goal? Keeping people from criticizing Islam. And now, the Islamic Circle of North America (the group behind the "Why Islam?" campaign) is calling for the U.S. government to take action against Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller for speaking against Islam.
Notice that ICNA is dedicated to making our society better "through the promotion of Islamic values." Apparently, the Islamic values that would make our society better include drastic limitations on freedom of speech. But since the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects speech against Sharia and Islam, ICNA is actually calling for changes at a Constitutional level.
As the following video shows, Spencer and Geller couldn't possibly have played a role in Breivik's radicalization. Hence, the only possible basis for government action would be their stance against Sharia.
—FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—
JAMAICA, New York (July 24, 2011) – The Islamic Circle of North America issued a press release today condemning the massacre in Norway and extending condolences to the families of victims.
“The terrorist attacks in Oslo and Utoya have saddened us beyond measure. We pray for Norway, and for the families of the victims. We are deeply sorry for their heartrending loss, and hope they find strength in these difficult times.
As American Muslims and as people of conscience we are appalled that numerous news outlets were quick to blame Muslims for these attacks. The media displayed an obvious lack of responsibility by jumping on the Islamophobia bandwagon and reporting false information about these attacks.
The perpetrator of these attacks was a racist, hateful fascist with a 1500-page manifesto and deliberate plan. He was both xenophobic and Islamophobic and was in contact with numerous European and American anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim personalities. We are horrified that such violence was borne from these views.
The rise of Islamophobia fostered by individuals such as Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller has threatened our communities and prompted such acts of violence. ICNA calls upon the international community and the Obama administration to take action against hate groups and so-called ‘experts on Islam’ who promote this kind of bigotry.”

Since 1968, ICNA has worked to build relations between communities by devoting itself to education, outreach, social services and relief efforts. (Source)

True Colors: Muslim Group Threatens to Sue if Michigan Passes Law Banning Sharia in U.S. Courts
The conversation would be hilarious if it weren't so frightening.
MUSLIM AMERICANS: "You non-Muslim Americans have nothing to worry about. We Muslims would never even think about imposing Sharia in the U.S."
NON-MUSLIM AMERICANS: "Well then, you wouldn't mind if we pass a law that will ban Sharia from being used in U.S. courts."
MUSLIM AMERICANS: "What??? You only want American law in American courts? No Sharia? How dare you! You're Islamophobes! You're bigoted hate-mongers!"
NON-MUSLIM AMERICANS: "If you had no intention of bringing Sharia to the U.S., why are you opposed to us banning it?"
MUSLIM AMERICANS: "Racists! We'll sue (to keep you from getting in the way of Sharia)!"

Detroit—Opposition is mounting among Muslims against pending legislation that would ban Michigan courts from considering "foreign laws" — including Sharia, or Islamic law.
Muslim and community leaders gathered Tuesday in Midtown to denounce legislation from state Rep. Dave Agema, R-Grandville, as divisive, unnecessary and mean-spirited.
"This plan goes against our country's core values of accepting people from all races and walks of life," said state Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Detroit, who is Muslim. "We simply cannot move forward with this plan.
"It's racism at its core."
Similar measures are under consideration in 25 other state legislatures, and supporters say the protections are needed. The Michigan bill doesn't mention Sharia, but watchdog groups say they've identified 50 cases nationwide that could be influenced by the religious rules. Most involved divorce or child custody.
Another sponsor of the Michigan bill, Rep. Martin Knollenberg, R-Troy, said the legislation is necessary because "we shouldn't allow other laws to usurp the state constitution."
He scoffed at critics who called the bill racist: "Where does it say (in the bill) it's anti-Muslim?"
Agema last week called the accusations of bigotry "hogwash."
A House committee has yet to take up discussion of the bill. The Council of American-Islamic Relations' Michigan chapter announced Tuesday it would sue if it becomes law. Gov. Rick Snyder's office hasn't done an analysis of the measure, said his spokeswoman, Geralyn Lasher.
"We don't know if this is an issue taking place or whether there is a need" for a law, she said.
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee also encouraged members Tuesday to contact their state representatives and urge them to oppose the bill. (Source)

Ramadan 2011 Terrorism Report
We're shocked when an act of terrorism is committed here in the West, because terrorism is rare in non-Muslim countries. Yet violence is so prevalent in the Muslim world, it scarcely raises an eyebrow. The following list compares violent terrorist attacks committed in the name of Islam with those committed in the name of all other religions combined. The list covers only the short period since Ramadan began. (Visit TROP for daily updates.)

Teenage Apostate Susan Ithungu Tortured and Starved by Her Muslim Father
But perhaps we should ignore those who are suffering under Islamic oppression. After all, Anders Breivik wasn't a Muslim.
For more on Islam and apostasy:
NAIROBI, Kenya, August 11 (CDN) — A 14-year-old girl in western Uganda is still unable to walk 10 months after her father tortured her for leaving Islam and putting her faith in Christ, according to area Christians.
Susan Ithungu of Isango village, Kasese district, has been hospitalized at Kagando Hospital since October 2010 after neighbors with police help rescued her from her father, Beya Baluku. He was arrested shortly afterward but quickly released, sources said.
Susan and her younger brother, Mbusa Baluku, lived alone with their father after he divorced their mother. In March 2010 an evangelist from Bwera Full Gospel Church spoke at Susan’s school, and she decided to trust Christ for her salvation.
“I heard the message of Christ’s great love of him dying for us to get everlasting peace, and there and then I decided to believe in Christ,” she said from her hospital bed. “After a month, news reached my father that I had converted to Christianity, and that was the beginning of my troubles with him. Our father warned us not to attend church or listen to the gospel message. He even threatened us with a sharp knife that he was ready to kill us in broad daylight in case we converted to Christianity.”
Pastor Joseph Baluku of Bwera Full Gospel Church in Kasese said neighbors took her to the government hospital about 45 kilometers (28 miles) from Kasese town after she was freed.
“He locked her up in a room of the semi-permanent house for six months without seeing sunlight,” the pastor said. “The younger brother was warned not to tell anyone that Susan was locked up in a room and was not given any food.”
Young Mbusa said that when their father was away, he roasted bananas for his sister.
“I also dug a hole under the door, where I could pour water through,” he said. “My sister could drink the water using her tongue. But most days she could only feed on mud.”
A nearby resident who requested anonymity said neighbors became concerned after not seeing her for several months.
“Her brother then disclosed to us that Susan was locked up in one of the rooms in the house,” the area resident said. “We then reported the case to the Harukunggu local council and then to the Bwera police station. The police went to the house and broke the door.”
Susan was immediately taken to the provincial government hospital about 17 kilometers (11 miles) away near Bwera town, where Pastor Baluku visited her.
“The miserable young Susan was bony, very weak, and not able to talk or walk,” said the pastor. “Her hair had turned yellow, she had long fingernails and sunken eyes, and she looked very slim, less than 20 kilograms [44 pounds].” (Read more.)

Sharia Gaining Ground . . . in Great Britain
It seems that Muslims in the U.K. have been setting up a parallel legal system, governed by Sharia. Of course, only a racist bigot would think that Muslims are attempting to establish Sharia in the U.K. After all, Anders Behring Breivik wasn't a Muslim.
United Kingdom--After being beaten repeatedly by her husband – who had also threatened to kill her – Jameela turned to her local Sharia council in a desperate bid for a way out of her marriage. Today she discovers the verdict. Playing nervously with her hands, the young mother-of-three listens as the panel of judges discuss whether they should grant her a divorce.
The council meets once a month at the Birmingham Central Mosque. Many of the cases relate to divorce and involve the husbands and wives entering the room separately to make their appeals.
In an airless room in the bowels of the mosque, Jameela is asked to explain why she wants a divorce. She replies that her husband spends most of his time with his second wife – Islamic law allows men to have up to four wives – but complains he is abusive whenever he returns to her home.
Across the desk, Dr Mohammed Naseem, chair of the mosque’s Sharia council, sits alongside Talha Bokhari, a white-robed imam, and Amra Bone, the only woman sitting on an Islamic court in this country.
While a husband is not required to go through official channels to gain a divorce – being able to achieve this merely by uttering the word “talaq” – Islamic law requires that the wife must persuade the judges to grant her a dissolution.
Although the judges appear sympathetic, they are concerned about the rights of the father, as Islamic law says he is still responsible for his children’s education. “For the sake of the children, you must keep up the façade of cordial relations,” says Dr Naseem. “The worst thing that can happen to a child is to see the father and mother quarrelling.”
Jameela is one of hundreds of Muslims applying to Islamic courts every week for a ruling on family and financial issues. While these courts may be the cornerstone of many of Britain’s Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities, there are growing concerns that they are creating a parallel legal system – and one that is developing completely unchecked.
Michael Nazir-Ali, the former Bishop of Rochester who was born in Pakistan, was accused of scaremongering after he said, in this newspaper three years ago, that parts of the country were being turned into “no-go” areas for non-Muslims. “To understand the impact of Sharia law you have to look at other countries,” he says. “At its heart it has basic inequalities between Muslims and non-Muslims, and between men and women.”
Last month, Islamic extremists put up posters in the London boroughs of Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets and Newham, warning residents that they were entering a “Sharia-controlled zone” where Islamic rules were enforced and gambling, alcohol and music was banned. The posters were later removed by police.
Alan Craig, a former Newham councillor who has lived in the area for 30 years, says: “I can no longer walk to my local shops and find anywhere to buy conventional, non-halal meat. Posters at bus stops of swimwear models are spray-painted over with a burka. The pavements are crowded with women wearing not just the face-veil, but black gloves to hide their hands.”
He recalls that last September, staff at a local primary school assured Muslim parents that they would ensure their children observed Ramadan by refusing them food and drink, even though Britain was in the middle of a heatwave. “I was stunned. This is where we’ve got ourselves to. Secular authorities policing Ramadan for Muslim parents.” (Read more.)

Jewish Synagogue Vandalized with Muslim Graffiti and Swastika
Since Anders Behring Breivik was not a Muslim, perhaps we should conclude that a blond-haired, blue-eyed Norwegian spray-painted "Islam will rule" on the synagogue. Above all else, we must remember that Muslims love Western democracy and have no intention of imposing Islam on anyone, especially Jews.
Toronto--A synagogue in the city's northeast end was the target of anti-Semitic graffiti.
Staff members of Beth Tikvah Synagogue on Thursday found the words "Islam will rule" and a swastika spray-painted on the exterior of their building.
According to a press release published by the Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy, police have been contacted and measures were taken to increase the security at the synagogue.
Shimon Fogel, CEO of the Canadian Jewish organization said in a statement that the primary concern is the safety of the staff and its congregants.
"We will remain vigilant in the wake of this disturbing and offensive event." (Source)
Shaher Bano Shahdady Murdered in Honor-Killing . . . in Canada
Of course, it would be racist and bigoted to draw attention to these killings. The "tolerant" thing to do is to ignore all crimes committed by Muslims. After all, Anders Behring Breivik was not a Muslim.
TORONTO - Another honour killing in our midst and the silence is deafening.
Shaher Bano Shahdady was just 21, a young mother who wanted to live her Canadian life as a free Canadian woman. And for that, she was strangled to death in front of her toddler.
From the Baloch region of Pakistan, she came to Toronto as a little girl. At 14, her father, Mullah Abdul Ghafoor, sent her back to Pakistan to study at a religious fundamentalist madrassa and a few years later she was forced into an arranged marriage with her first cousin.
But her precious son was her ticket back home.
Complications in her pregnancy allowed her to return to Toronto. Her baby was born with a serious heart defect that eventually required a transplant, but at least she was back in Canada. Shahdady was a devoted mother, her friends say, and while she lived with her strict religious family in Scarborough, she managed to escape through Facebook where she chatted with friends and administered a Baloch entertainment page that had 6,000 members.
She began to change, friends say. Shahdady no longer wanted to wear a burka that covered her face and body but would don just the hijab head scarf instead. She’d registered at the Adult Learning Centre to work on her high school diploma this fall and was hoping to one day realize her dream of becoming a doctor.
“All her friends were finishing college or university and getting good jobs and she felt she was being left behind,” explains family friend Zaffar Baloch. “She wanted to throw away the veil and live an ordinary independent life of a woman.”
But she had to sponsor her husband here and his arrival in May forced her back into the cage she had struggled so long to escape. He wanted her to wear a burka, to stay away from Facebook, to put aside any plans she had of resuming a secular education.
“She rebelled,” explains Tarek Fatah, founder of the Muslim Canadian Congress. “With the help of social services, she got an apartment for herself and her son. She was leaving her husband and asking for a divorce. How dare she? It would dishonour everyone.”
She and her son moved out July 1. After just three weeks of freedom, she was dead.
Between 1 and 2 a.m. on July 22, neighbours in the building at 3131 Eglinton Ave. E. heard the shrill screaming of a child that went on for 15 minutes. And then silence. More than 15 hours later, Shahdady’s distraught father discovered his 2-year-old grandson alone in the apartment with his daughter’s dead body. She had been strangled on her bed.
Her estranged husband Abdul Malik Rustam, 27, turned himself in to police the next morning. He’s been charged with first-degree murder.
“Absolutely, it was an honour killing,” contends Fatah. “This is the fundamental issue here that no one wants to address. Nobody wants to tell Muslim men that women are not their possessions. It’s about women’s sexuality and men who say they own the franchise to it.” (Read more.)

Muslim Family Targeted by Muslims after Daughter Marries Christian . . . in the U.K.
But we should remember that there are no differences between Muslim culture and Western culture, and that Anders Behring Breivik was not a Muslim.
United Kingdom--The head of a Coventry family of albino Muslims has pleaded for an end to a campaign of “honour” harassment which began after his daughter married outside the faith.
The Parvez-Akhtar family, of Edgwick, has been subjected to vicious attacks because eldest daughter Naseem wed a Christian.
House windows have been smashed, their cars vandalised and they receive constant hate mail.
Aslam Parvez, aged 53, blames members of the Muslim community who believe the family have been dishonoured by his daughter’s marriage.
He contacted the Telegraph to issue a public appeal in a desperate bid to make the culprits stop.
“We’re a good family and have done nothing wrong yet we’re being punished in the name of honour,” he said.
The hate campaign started five months ago when a national magazine published an article on albinos which featured Naseem, who no longer lives in Coventry and has little contact with her family.
It revealed how she has married a Christian, goes to church and is expecting her second child with her husband.
Mr Parvez says copies of the article were quickly spread maliciously, and were posted on walls near their house and through the doors of Muslim homes in the community.
Mr Parvez says he has received numerous death threats and has spent hundreds of pounds installing security cameras around his house. (Read more.)
