From Mormonism, to Islam, to Christianity: The Testimony of Pastor Erick Venden

Here's a video of Erick, who spoke after my debate this past Sunday. It's too bad that escaping false teachings isn't an Olympic event. This guy would get the gold! (Pay close attention to his work in Indonesia, and the difficulty of evangelizing in Muslim countries.)

Dear David,

It was a pleasure meeting you at the debate that took place this past Sunday at the Reston Sheraton. I enjoyed the debate between you and Farhan Qureshi, and I enjoyed the testimonies of both Nabeel Qureshi and Erick Venden.

Though you said some great things in your defense of our religion, I wished that you elaborated more on Jesus' commandments, because Farhan Qureshi kept saying that we do not have a law to follow, and you kept stressing on the love and the transformation that occurs in our hearts when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, which will not make much sense to Muslims whose religion is not as spiritual as ours, since their religion is totally based on the five senses. I agree with you about the transformation inside of us, but this might not be understood by those who reject Christ. They need more tangible answers, and they need to know that every word uttered by Jesus, and every act of his was a commandment. I am sure you know all his commandments, but for the readers and those who do not, here is a list of all the "laws" and commandments which we Christians must follow: http://www.loveallpeople.org/pearl-thecommandmentsofjesus.html

Also, I wanted to point out that every commandment of good deeds in the Koran, Allah limited it to the believers. Islam teaches Muslims to love one another, not steal or rape or kill the "mu'minin' but it never teaches them to be kind to non-Muslims [and this, I believe is the greatest objection to Islam]. It is a very selfish, tribal revenge doctrine. Wishing you all the best in your mission. May God bless you.
